Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw headline the 2011 Bayou Country Superfest! The talent lineup for the 2nd annual Bayou Country Superfest was announced today with a Louisiana homecoming for Tim McGraw and Trace Adkins, plus Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Zac Brown Band, Billy Currington, Luke Bryan, Jason Michael Carroll, Josh Thompson and Lee Brice. Scheduled over Memorial Day Weekend 2011 (Saturday, May 28 & Sunday, May 29), Bayou Country Superfest brings together the biggest names in country music on the campus of Louisiana State University for the huge two-day celebration.

Billy Ray Cyrus Getting Divorced

Billy Ray Cyrus and wife Tish have filed for divorce. According to People magazine, Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife of 17 years have filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. “As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family,” the couple said in a statement. “We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.” While the end of such a long marriage is a sad affair, we certainly hope them both the best.

Taylor Swift shines on Late Night with David Letterman. Taylor Swift graciously appeared last night on Late Night with David Letterman to promote her new album “Speak Now”. The interview itself is very entertaining, however I’m wondering if anyone else thought David sounded condescending to her about her age, her touring experience, and even her perfume! Taylor handled the interview extremely well though. She is certainly pro at handling the press. What are your thoughts? Opinions needed! Should Country Music News Blog add live commercial-free streaming radio to our site? Country Music News Blog has an interesting opportunity to add a virtual radio station to our site, but we want to know if our readers are interested? Since the birth of our very first site, DHCountryMusic.com (originally Drunken Hillbilly), the team at CMNB has ALWAYS been committed to giving independent artists a fair and equal press platform with their mainstream counterparts. With that in mind, if we move forward and add this station, it would NOT be all top-40 country radio. It would showcase artists who individually opt-in for airplay, covering the wide range of country/americana styles. If implemented, the music player would be embedded on the site in a way that does not obstruct the reader experience. Give us your thoughts in the comments below!
