<p><strong>Patti Page</strong>, the best selling female artist of the 1950&#8217;s and singer of 111 chart hits, passed away in her <strong>Encinitas, California</strong> home on <strong>January 1st, 2013</strong> at the <strong>age of 85</strong>. One of her hits includes the legendary &#8220;<strong><em>Tennessee Waltz</em></strong>&#8221; that has been covered over the years by iconic figures including Ella Fitzgerald, Emmylou Harries, Elvis Presley and The Chieftains &; Tom Jones. Page&#8217;s accolades include being the recipient of the <strong>Academy of Country Music&#8217;s Pioneer Award</strong>, having a star on the <strong>Country Music Walk of Fame</strong>, earning the<strong> Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame&#8217;s Living Legend Award</strong> and being honored with the <strong>Recording Academy&#8217;s Lifetime Achievement Award</strong> (which she a was to accept this coming February).</p>
