Growing up in a nonmusical family in Phoenix, AZ, country vocalist Dierks Bentley got his country music education on his own, listening to recordings. A love of the material inspired him to move to Nashville at the age of 19, but he quickly grew discouraged by the lack of public and professional interest coming his way. It all changed when he walked into the Station Inn, a bar where the bluegrass faithful hang out. An all-night jam session recharged his batteries and he restarted pursuing bookings. He landed a job at the TNN tv network doing research on classic country songs and by night he worked on his demos. Capitol Records heard the artist, signed him, and gave us his self-titled debut, Dierks Bentley, in 2003, which yielded the impossibly catchy single “What Was I Thinkin'”. Bringing his love of Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings more to the forefront, Modern Day Drifter followed two years later and became a Top Ten hit. In 2006 he came back with Long Trip Alone, a more polished effort that was commercial but not crass. Greatest Hits: Every Mile a Memory arrived in 2008, a bit early in his career for that, perhaps, but it did contain his key charting singles and added in fan-selected live tracks as a bonus, making it a nice summation of Bentley’s work to date. A new album, Feel That Fire, was gave us in early 2009.

Dierks Bentley today premieres the music video for his spirited cover of Tom Petty’s “American Girl” with CMT. The video for the lead single from Big Machine Records’ forthcoming tribute album, PETTY COUNTRY: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty, opens with Bentley strapping on Petty’s own signature Rickenbacker guitar that was flownin from his archives in California for the shoot.  Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row announces the highly anticipated Denver opening on New Year’s Eve. The popular live music restaurant and bar will open at 1946 Market Street in the heart of Denver’s LoDo neighborhood, a mere block from Coors Field. Whiskey Row will feature live music with local artists five days a week, and the area’s top DJ’s will be featured Thursday through Sunday.

First Round of Performers Announced for 53rd ACM Awards

The Academy of Country Music announced the first group of performers for the 53RD ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS™, Country Music’s Party of the Year®, airing LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.   Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line + Bebe Rexha, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, and Thomas Rhett, will take the stage for can’t-miss performances.  Attached and below please find a press release with additional details, and note more performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
