CMA Fest 2012 Free Music Stages

CMA Fest Offers Two Stages of Free Music! Earlier this week, CMA Music Festival organizers announced the addition of two new stages to the already full line-up of artists and events. The kicker? The two stages, the Bic Soleil Bella Beach Stage and the Bud Light Stage, are offering free music! From Thursday June 7th – Sunday, June 10th, there will be plenty of live music for concert attendees to enjoy! “Live music is a hallmark of CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL, and we are excited to be able to add a new stage and even more performances this year” -CMA Chief Executive Officer, Steve Moore The complete line-up isn’t available yet, but word is that Greg Bates, Julie Roberts, Miss Willie Brown, Jon Pardi have already been signed up to perform!

Zac Brown Band Releases Video for Single, No Hurry. Zac Brown Band is a great example of a group that is phenomenal live, and so, it is fitting that their last couple of video releases have featured concert footage, latest release “No Hurry” included! The video mixes up this concert footage with some behind-the-scenes style shots of the band cavorting around, providing fans a glimpse inside the ZBB way of life. Paired with the I’m-not-gonna-worry-about-it message of the lyrics, we get a pretty good idea of what exactly that way of life entails, and it looks pretty dang fun to me. Bucky Covington Releases Video for “I Wanna Be That Feeling”! Bucky Covington has released the video for his most recent single, “I Wanna Be That Feeling“! This single might be my favorite of Bucky’s musical releases so far. It mixes his country and his rock sides in a really balanced way. You get that good country music feeling with just a little bit of a rock edge to it, mostly coming from Covington’s delightfully gravelly voice. The video, directed by Kristin Barlowe perfectly captures the themes of the lyrics, and I think this is definitely going to be one of my go to I-just-need-a-three-minute-video-break songs of the summer! Jake Owen Weds Lacey Buchanan! Well, ladies, another one of our good lookin’ country crooners if officially off the market! As of Monday, May 7th, Jake Owen is officially married to model, Lacey Buchanan. The two were hitched Jake’s hometown of Vero Beach, FL in a sunrise ceremony on the beach. He provided People magazine with an incredibly sweet quote about they chose this style of wedding. “That was my idea, because it’s symbolic of the dawn of a new day and starting our new life together.” -Jake Owen Isn’t that one of the most lovely things you have ever heard a groom say? Congrats to both Jake and Lacey!

The Dirt Drifters Cancel Tour

The Dirt Drifters Announce Cancelation of Tour. For reasons that remain mysterious, The Dirt Drifters have canceled all of their upcoming performances and show dates. They made the following announcement on the official webpage: “We hate to disappoint you guys, especially after all the support you have given us over the past few years. But due to some private, personal issues we will not be going out on the road and will be canceling all upcoming shows and appearances. We cannot thank you enough for your support and for standing by us.” Here’s hoping that these issues can be resolved, and that this does not mark a permanent withdrawl of this group from the music scene! Jewel Lands Role As June Carter Cash

Jewel To Play June Carter Cash In Upcoming Lifetime Movie! Singer Jewel has landed the role of June Carter Cash in the upcoming Lifetime original movie, The June Carter Cash Story. The story is based off of a memoir titled Anchored in Love: An Intimate Portrait of June Carter Cash written by John Carter Cash, the son of Carter and Johnny (which notably included a forward by Robert Duvall!). The movie will track June’s life from her roots in rural Virginia to her professional success, and of course includes details on her personal life including her three marriages. The film is slated for release this year with no definite date specified so far! Will you watch?

Brad Paisley Adds New Artists to Virtual Reality Tour

Brad Paisley Resumes Virtual Reality Tour with New Blood! Brad Paisley is getting back into the swing of his 2012 Virtual Reality World Tour, and he’s including three new artists! Up and coming artists Kristen Kelly, Jana Kramer and duo Love and Theft will be featured on a separate stage titled “The Escape” that includes a virtual backdrop of the Grand Ole Opry. Pretty swanky idea, if you ask me, and what a great opportunity for these artists! Their performances will begin at 5pm, and they will be available to sign autographs afterwards. These artists join the tour alongside fellow performers, The Band Perry and Scotty McCreery! It’s good to see that such an influential performer like Paisley isn’t afraid to share the limelight with the up and comers! The next Brad Paisley tour date will be May 18th in Saint Louis, MO. Vince Gill Schedules Bluegrass Shows In Wake of Earl Scruggs Passing. Vince Gillhas lined up twelve performance dates for the start of the summer focusing exclusively on bluegrass from June 13-June 30! According to GAC, the iconic country guitarist and singer mentioned that this line-up of concerts bears special significance in the wake of Earl Scruggs passing on March 28th. After the passing of Earl Scruggs it means the world to me to do these dates with this world-class band playing the music that Earl defined. I absolutely adore this music.” -Vince Gill Gill will be taking care of guitar, mandolin and vocals while banjoist Jim Mills fiddler Stuart Duncan, guitarist Jeff White and bassist Dennis Crouch back him up. Miranda Lambert and Eric Church at Illinois State Fair

Eric Church and Miranda Lambert In The Illinois State Fair Line-Up! You can’t get more country than a state fair, so it makes sense that Miranda Lambert and Eric Church have been added to the Illinois State Fair line-up for this summer! The fair runs for 10 days total from Thursday, August 9th to Sunday, August 19th in Springfield, IL, and event organizers are clearly trying to get in as much country music as they can! Lambert will be performing on August 18th at 7:30pm along with the Pistol Annies! There is a TBA for an artist to join the trio that will be announced later on. Eric Church will be performing on August 10th at 7:30pm, and will be joined by Aaron Lewis. Brantley Gilbert also made the line-up, and will be joined on stage by Charlie Daniels! Their performance takes place on August 14th at 7:30pm. Tickets go on sale May 12th. So, mark your calendars, and go here for all the country music ticket info you need!
