Willie Nelson Lyle Lovett and More Host Texas Benefit

Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Dixie Chicks and Others Perform Relief Concert. Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, The Dixie Chicks and Asleep at the Wheel will be hosting a benefit concert, “Fire Relief: The Concert for Central Texas” on October 17th at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, TX. The event will be hosted by “Friday Night Lights” star, Kyle Chandler and actor Turk Pipkin. Other special guests include Shawn Colvin, The Court Yard Hounds, Steve Miller, The Texas Tornados, guitarists Eric Johnson and Joe Satriani. Tickets will go on sale Friday, September 23 at 12pm and are $25, $35, $100 and $250 VIP. The VIP ticket price includes premium seating and access to the VIP Lounge in the Lone Star Room. In addition to performances, there will be a silent auction with specialty items autographed by the artists, and T-shirts with the concert’s logo for sale. This concert event is intended to raise funds to support the families who have suffered complications from and dealt with the wildfires in Texas all summer. All proceeds from this event will of to Central Texas Wildfire Fund at the Austin Community Foundation. It’s great to see that no matter the need, country musicians and fans are willing to step up to the plate, pitch in, and help those in need.

Reba Debuts New Video for Somebody’s Chelsea! One of everyone’s favorites, Reba McEntire, has released yet another powerful song, “Somebody’s Chelsea“, and now there is a brand new video to go with it that is just as moving. I will be honest, it really does’t take a whole lot to make me to tear up, but with this song, Reba pretty much had me crying with the first three notes. Both the song and the video are simple and predictable, but this really doesn’t detract from the emotional appeal of it. Reba’s powerful and unmistakable voice gives depth and life to lyrics and a theme that in anyone else’s hands would sound whiny and trite. Overall, it’s a well-performed song and video! Taylor Swift To Release Speak Now World Tour Live CD+DVD. We all know that Taylor Swift is capable of selling out massive stadiums and theaters all over the world. We all know that Taylor Swift has incredibly loyal fans who will follow her anywhere. We also know that not all of her fans had to means or the opportunity to attend the concerts on her Speak Now World Tour. We have good news for those fans! Taylor Swift has announced the release of a Speak Now World Tour Live CD+DVD set. This special concert DVD will be available November 21st, and will include 75 minutes of music which features all 17 songs from Swift’s Speak Now tour.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood Host Country Countdown USA in Run-up to CMAs. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be joining host Lon Helton on the September 24th/25th edition of Country Countdown USA. In addition to helping countdown the week’s top country radio hits, Brad and Carrie will share tidbits and stories from their lives! Brad will clue in fans on how he got Carrie interested in recording their current hit single duet “Remind Me“. Carrie will give insight into her experiences singing with other iconic singers like rocker Stephen Tyler and crooner Tony Bennett. Country Countdown USA is recorded live each week on Nashville’s historic Music Row, and counts down each week’s Top 30! Brad is currently wrapping up his H20II-Tour with Blake Shelton this week, and both Brad and Carrie are gearing up to co-host the CMA Awards in November!

CMA Announces First Performers

First Round of Performers for 2011 CMA Awards Announced! The 45th Annual CMA Awards are quickly approaching, and there is much chatter all over the industry about all the details from nominations to possible performances to this year’s hosts! We heard weeks ago that Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be reprising their roles of host from the 2010 CMA Awards, and the nominations for all twelve categories were announced just a week or so ago. (Click here to see more on the nominations!) Now, slowly but surely, the list of performers anticipated for the show are starting to be announced as well. We just got news of the first round of performances confirmed, and I do not think you will be disappointed! All five of the artists nominated in the “Entertainer of the Year” category, and this includes Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban. Also of note, four of the nominees, basically everyone except Keith Urban, all earned five nominations this year! The 2011 CMA Awards will take place on November 9th, and air on ABC at 8PM ET. Tickets for the 45th Annual CMA Awards go on sale on Saturday, September 24th at 10:00AM CT.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton Duet

Lambert and Shelton Duet Featured on Miranda’s Four the Record! Well, after Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert faked out the country music community with their promises of recording a new album together, it seems they are willing to offer all the broken-hearted fans a consolation prize. Blake and Miranda have in fact recorded a duet together, and it will be featured on Miranda’s upcoming album, Four the Record. The song is titled “Better in the Long Run” and was written by Ashley Monroe of the Pistol Annies, Charles Kelly of Lady Antebellum and Gordie Sampson of “Jesus, Take the Wheel” fame. There will be a total of 14 tracks on the album including Lambert’s current single “Baggage Claim“. Four the Record will be released November 1st.

New TV Series Troubadour TX

Troubadour, TX, A New Doc-Style Music TV Series Debuts Soon! Dallas based London Broadcasting and 41 Entertainment have joined forces to bring music fans a brand new reality documentary style music series title “Troubadour, TX“. The series will focus on twelve singers and songwriters as they attempt to build their musical careers in the Lone Star State. The series will feature artists from multiple genres of music including Country, Americana, Blues, and Rock among others, and will provide a behind-the-scenes perspective into the lives and growing careers of the featured artists. Episodes are filmed on location in Texas as the TTX production crews tirelessly follow the featured singers and songwriters on the road and at home. This series promises to provide a fresher perspective and grittier insight into the daily grind of the fledgling musician that you simply will not find on shows like CMT’s Next Superstar or American Idol. Brad Paisley Releases First Book

Brad Paisley Releases First Book, Diary of a Player. Having secured a place for himself in the world of country music, Brad Paisley is venturing into another media realm, book publishing. Paisley has agreed to his first major book deal with Howard Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster! His book is titled Diary of a Player and is co-written by David Wild, a contributing editor to Rolling Stone. The narrative is a tribute to the guitar greats from country, blues and rock&roll who have influenced Brad in his life and his music. “It is a love letter to the guitar. The book pays homage to an instrument that Paisley realized was his only real constant no matter how he changed and evolved.” – Howard Books vice president and publisher, Jonathan Merkh This “love letter” emphasizes Paisley’s respect for and relationship with music, especially through his guitar playing. “There are some people who drink, who seek counseling, eat, or watch TV, cry, sleep, and so on.
