Dolly Parton’s Better Day

Dolly Parton Releases New Album Better Day. Dolly Parton announced this Spring she would be releasing a new album with an accompanying batch of global tour dates. The new album is titled Better Day and is available to fans starting today! The album features a full track listing of all new music penned by the iconic country star. She is offering up something a little more modern this time around, and seems to feel positive about the results of her hard work. (See below for a complete track listing.) “I always think every album is better than the last one … at least I strive for that. I wrote all the songs for this one; plus, I think it may be a little more contemporary than what I usually do.” Dolly Parton Dolly has been out and about recently making the rounds to support her new album. Fans who attended CMA Fest had a chance to check her out as she made multiple appearances including album signings and popping by Marty Stuart’s Late Night Jam. Also, earlier this month she performed the album’s first single “Together You and I” on the Tonight Show. Parton’s tour will launch out of Knoxville, TN on July 17th. Eli Young Band Plays for Troops

Eli Young Band Celebrates 4th with Concert for Troops. The Eli Young Band will be kicking off their 4th of July weekend celebrations with a special free concert just for the troops! They will be performing on Thursday, June 30th at the Freedom Crossing in Fort Bliss, TX, and will be honoring the military personnel who are currently stationed there. It isn’t an exclusive celebration, though! The concert will also be open to those not in the military who want to get in on all the patriotic fun! The group will be continuing their July 4th celebrations throughout the weekend with concerts in South Padre Island for the KTEX Freedom Beach Fest at Schlitterbahn and in Riverside, CA, for K-Frog’s Red, White, and Cruise at Auto Club Speedway. Tickets are still available for both of these concerts. Eli Young Band’s current single “Crazy Girl” is still proving successful on the charts and continues to rise. Miranda Lambert on The Voice

Miranda Lambert Joins New Husband Blake Shelton on The Voice. Miranda Lambert will be making a special guest appearance on the season finale of NBC‘s hit competition series The Voice which airs this Wednesday, June 29th at 8pm ET. She is set to perform with finalist Dia Frampton who (what a coincidence!) is tutored by Blake Shelton, one of the four coaches featured on the show. Miranda is definitely pleased to be joining her new hubby on the show! “I am thrilled to perform on my favorite new show. It’s been a joy watching my husband grow so attached to his team. Truthfully, I am a little jealous that I am not a coach myself. I can’t wait to be a part of it.” -Miranda Lambert There are three other remaining finalists, Javier Colon, Beverly McClellan, and Vicci Martinez, who will perform will perform during the Tuesday, June 28th show, and the winner will be announced during the Wednesday night finale. Steel Magnolia On Jimmy Kimmel Live

Steel Magnolia Set to Appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Real life couple Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones otherwise known as the country duo, Steel Magnolia are scheduled to make their debut television performance tonight, Monday, June 24th on ABC‘s late night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! 12/11pm CST. The duo will be performing a new song off of their self-titled debut album. Steel Magnolia was originally discovered on CMT‘s Can You Duet? in 2009, and since then have furthered their initial success through single and EP releases. CMA Music Fest Network Air Date

CMA Music Fest: Country’s Night to Rock 2011 Network Air Date Is Set. Whether or not you had the opportunity to experience CMA Music Festival in person this year, any country fan with access to a television will have the opportunity to either experience CMA Fest for the first time or relive the excitement. CMA Music Fest has officially announced the air date for the annual special CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock 2011, a recounting of the 2011 concerts and events at LP Field in Nashville earlier this month. The show is an edited version of the concerts a few thousand(s) lucky fans had the chance to see live including performances by Reba McEntire, Lauren Alaina, Jason Aldean, Sara Evans, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Scotty McCreery, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, the Zac Brown Band, and others. CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock will air on ABC on Sunday, August 7th at 8PM ET. Be sure to check in on this special concert event!

Lady Antebellum has released the video for their latest and fastest rising single, Just A Kiss, on both Vevo and their official website simultaneously allowing fans multiple viewing and streaming options. Miranda Lambert’s Pistol Annies Signs

Miranda Lambert’s Side Project The Pistol Annies Signs Record Contract. Miranda Lambert announced earlier this year she would be adding a side project, also known as The Pistol Annies, to her already lucrative career. The Pistol Annies is an all-girl musical trio formed by Lambert and also includes Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley. The group may have just been a fun venture, but now it looks like things are getting serious. Lambert announced at a recent performance in Chicago that The Pistol Annies have officially signed a recording contract. At the same performance the group performed a number of songs including Boys From the South. It is being speculated they have signed with Sony, Miranda’s label, but no confirmation has been made on a specific label yet. No word so far on when fans can expect an album release, but the group will be offering a little taste of what’s to come with an iTunes release of the song Hell on Wheels next week.

Josh Turner Hosts Benefit Concert

Josh Turner Reaches Out to Students in Ringgold Georgia. Josh Turner is taking time to help support the students and community in Ringgold, Georgia who are coping with the devastation of an EF-4 tornado, which ripped through the town on April 27 destroying approximately half of the businesses, homes, and community. Turner will be hosting a benefit concert, “After The Storm: Coming Together Benefit Concert With Josh Turner” on Thursday, July 14th at the Davis Cattle Company in Ringgold, GA. All of the proceeds will be contributed to the Ringgold Band and the Ringgold athletic fund. Tickets go on sale today, Friday, June 24th!

Vince Gill Gets Star On Walk of Fame

Vince Gill Honored with Star On the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Vince Gill is joining his wife, Amy Grant, on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Grant received her star in 2006, and in 2012 Vince will be honored with a star of his own. I’m pretty sure their stars won’t be positioned next to one another, but a star is a star! Other 2012 Hollywood Walk of Famers include actors Jennifer Aniston, Richard Burton, Kate Winslet, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lopez and Adam West, music legends Barry White, Hal David, David Foster and the band Heart and cartoonist Matt Groening. Gill once lived in Los Angeles when he was still a youngster and not yet so accomplished. Yet, he never thought the day would come when he would be honored in such a way. “When I lived out there, I was such a young person…So even the thought of one day having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was preposterous. It was silly. It wasn’t even in the realm of my thinking. I walked up and down Hollywood Boulevard and said, ‘There is so-and-so.’ I never thought for one second, ‘I will have one of these one day.” -Vince Gill Vince adds this honor into the Hollywood Walk of Fame to his list of noteworthy inductions which includes the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Vince Gill Releases Guitar Slinger New Album

Vince Gill Releases New Single and New Album. It has been four years since Vince Gill released new music, and later this summer he will releasing his first single off his upcoming album, Guitar Slinger. The album is due out in the Fall, and features a wide variety of songs and themes from dark and serious to more upbeat and hopeful. “I feel like the emphasis has been on the songs and the songs have gotten better. They really run the gamut of what they are about, how they feel, how they sound. It’s not an all-traditional record, it’s not an all-contemporary record; it’s all over the map, like I kind of have always been. But it doesn’t feel out of step with anything I’ve done previously.” -Vince Gill Fans can look forward to hearing the first single off the album, “Threaten Me With Heaven”, co-written by his wife, Amy Grant, Dillon O’Brian and Will Owsley, when it is released later this summer. Since the writing of the song, tragedy has given a deeper meaning toits lyrics and theme. “Since the song was recorded, my friend Will Owsley took his own life, so the song has a profound impact on me now. It’s a powerful, powerful song. I feel like it’s the crown jewel of the new record.” -Vince Gill Also of note, the album features appearances by Amy Grant as well as their three daughters, Jenny, Sarah and Corrina. So, be sure to keep an ear out for release dates.
