Jason Aldean “Fly Over States” Video

Jason Aldean New Video of “Fly Over States”. Jason Aldean is giving fans a new video! This time it’s for the his latest single “Fly Over States“. It’s an interesting tune that features a perspective on small town American from the POV of two average guys that probably just haven’t ever driven down those ole’ dirt roads. It’s a much slower and reflective song than some of the other singles on his 2011 CMA Album of the Year Award winning My Kinda Party, and I like it because its a lot subtler than the usual city folk vs country folk lyrics we get sometimes. Can I also say, that I could listen to Aldean saying “Oklahoma” all day long…there’s just something about it! This video shares a director, Wes Edwards, with Jason’s ACM Video of the Year nominated “Tattoos On This Town” video, and I think you’ll see the similarities! Check the video out, and see what you think! Are you a fan of this song? Watch Jason Aldean’s “Fly Over States”. Get More: Fly Over States, Jason Aldean, Jason Aldean Videos

Dixie Chicks: The Controversy Country Music Won’t Let Die

The Dixie Chicks “Thing” Happened Years Ago, Can We Let It Go Now? Recently, I found an article from Country Weekly that surprised me. It was a short article about some comments Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks made on her twitter account during the 2012 Grammy Awards. Apparently, she made an off-hand comment about Jason Aldean being out of tune during his performance of “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Kelly Clarkson. The title of this article was, “Natalie Maines’ Own Fans Don’t Like Her Jason Aldean Dig,” and the opening statement of the article was this: The Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines is no stranger to saying controversial things. Remember a certain overseas criticism of then-President Bush that effectively destroyed the Chicks’ country career? First of all, saying that someone is out of tune during a performance is not controversial in the least (Or it really shouldn’t be, and if it is somehow, we might be in trouble as an industry). To me, Maines’ comments just show observational skills. I love both Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, but their 2012 Grammy performance was not their best. I’ve seen them perform this before, and they totally rocked it. So maybe they just had an off night, or the sound crew wasn’t handling the levels well. Who knows? Regardless, Maines wasn’t necessarily wrong, and she definitely wasn’t being “mean”. Here is my big issue though: are we seriously still talking about that? Almost ten years later, really is this the first thing we have to say about Natalie Maines? This is why we write an article about her? Really? Just a quick refresher, the Dixie Chicks have earned CMA Awards as Entertainer of the Year (2001), for Vocal Group of the Year (1998, 1999, 2000, 2002), for Song of the Year (1999), for Album of the Year (2000), for Video of the Year (1998, 1999), and for the Horizon Award (1998). They have also earned multiple Grammy Awards, hold the distinction of being the top selling female group of any genre, and have 6 #1 country music singles (those were within a 5 year period). Not to mention, these 3 extraordinarily talented and hard-working women gave country fans some really amazing music that will stand the test of time. That is their legacy. It is alarming to me that it is okay to disregard an opinion or vilify someone because they say something negative about something you like. Sometimes people can do this in a non-constructive way, I’ll give you that. Still though, everyone is entitled to their negative opinions just as much as others are to their positive ones. We run the danger of losing our critical thinking skills when we only listen to the “good stuff” people say; the things that let us stay safely inside our comfort zones. Let me be clear, Jason Aldean is a great performer, and being out of tune during one performance in no way discounts that. At the end of the day, I really Continue reading Dixie Chicks: The Controversy Country Music Won’t Let Die

Lauren Alaina and Jason Aldean Duet

Lauren Alaina Sings “Don’t You Wanna Stay” With Jason Aldean. Lauren Alaina is currently on tour with Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, and the young star has nabbed the opportunity to sing the duet role in Aldean’s “Don’t You Wanna Stay“. This particular performance choice clearly delights fans, and I have to agree, its a great choice. A fan recently caught their live performance on camera, and Alaina featured the video below on her homepage. The camera work is a little shaky, but Lauren’s obvious talent shines through anyway! Watch it and let us know what you think. Does she fill Clarkson’s shoes or not? BamaJam 2012 Dates Announced

BamaJam Returns for 2012! BamaJam is back after missing the 2011 festival circuit, and the 2012 dates have been set! This year BamaJam will be from June 14th to June 16th outside Enterprise, AL in rural Coffee County. So far these are the only details available for this year, but with previous headliners including the likes of Brooks & Dunn, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, Hank Williams Jr., Kid Rock and others, we can be sure the line-up will be a good. This will be the fourth BamaJam to take place since its beginning in 2008. It was canceled last year due to federal charges leveled at festival founder, Ronnie Gilley for bribing legislators. He is no longer a leader in the organization of the festival, but remains on staff with a company working with the festival’s entertainment venue, BamaJam Farms where the music event will be held. Stay tuned for more details on 2012 BamaJam!

YOUR Most Searched Artists of 2011! Oh yeah, and this is just a little thing, but she did also win CMA Entertainer of the Year. So, obviously there was a lot of information you needed to find out about her this year! 3. Jason Aldean We have said it once and we will keep saying it, but 2011 was one heck of a year for Jason Aldean.
