Ron White gathers close personal friends for a special Salute to the Troops concert in Nashville Rascal Flatts joins comedian Ron White for a special Salute to the Troops concert from the Grand Ole Opry house February 15th, 2011. The concert will air at a later date on CMT. Proceeds from the the concert will go towards the Armed Forces Foundation and tickets go onsale this Friday, December 17th. “This is my fourth year doing this benefit, and every year it gets better. I am thrilled CMT is going to be airing it so everyone can join in the fun”, Ron continues “I’ve gathered some of my close musical and comedian friends and we’re going to see if we can’t bring a few laughs to these soldiers; raise some money, and hopefully lift their spirits. Oklahoma entertainer Carrie Underwood is honored with a Golden Globe nomination! Carrie Underwood seems just tickled pink by her nomination for a Golden Globe award. The nomination celebrates Carries song contribution of the original piece “There’s a Place For Us” used in the movie “Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader”. “I am absolutely thrilled by this wonderful honor today,” says Underwood. “It was such an exciting endeavor to have been asked to create music for the film. Garth Brooks wants your toy donations at his Nashville Concerts! Garth Brooks has put out the call that he is looking for concertgoers to bring a new, unwrapped toy to one of his Nashville concerts this week and next. The toys will be collected and then redistributed to needy children in middle-Tennessee by the Marine Corps Reserve as part of the Toys for Tots program.
