Willie Nelson Country Throwdown Eufaula Oklahoma

Willie Nelson’s Country Throwdown Tour Hits Eufaula Oklahoma For A Party At The Cove! If anyone knows how to throw a party it is Willie Nelson and his friends! This summer that rowdy bunch was Willie, Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, Jack Ingram, Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, Craig Campbell, Lukas Nelson (Willie’s son) & Promise of the Real, Drake White, Caitlyn Smith, Erin Enderlin, Adam Hood, Dani Flowers, Brent Cobb, Tyler Reeve, and Austin Lucas. The 2nd Annual Country Throwdown Tour was little over a month, starting May 28 in Philadelphia and ending tonight, July 4, in Fort Worth. I was lucky enough to get my country fix in Eufaula, Ok on July 2 after an awesome day at the lake! I regret to say I missed a couple performers, I’m very sad about it and have made it my mission to catch them the next chance I get. My only excuse is I was trying to find Willie on the lake! I spent the 4th of July weekend with a lifelong friend and her family on the water. As we were leaving the marina around noon, we got word that Willie was just there, the same dock as us! I tried and I tried to see those braids catching some sun on a boat all afternoon but unfortunately was unsuccessful. Once we made it to the amphitheater I realized we had missed Lee Brice, heartbroken I held my chin up in excitement for the artists I was soon to see. My group caught the tail end of Brantley Gilbert’s show on the side stage as we were walking in and was pleasantly surprised in the very small window of time (I’m talking minutes) until the next performer, Randy Houser, took the main stage. He started off with his hit “Boots On” and never dropped his energy until after his last song “Whistlin’ Dixie“! In between “stage” performer was a group of songwriters from the “Bluebird Cafe Stage“. They were an awesome addition to the day, keeping live music flowing at all times. I really enjoyed Caitlyn Smith’s “Hank Drank” and the good-timing-party-having attitudes of Brent Cobb, Tyler Reeve, and Adam Hood! Jack Ingram, who only toured June 30 through July 3, seemed to have a different look, but the same voice! He had the crowd going with songs like “Love You“, “Barbie Doll“, and “Barefoot And Crazy“. Jamey Johnson was the last performer before Willie and he put on one hell of a show! He was joined on stage a couple different times, once with Lucas Nelson, once with Dani Flowers, and once with three little girls to sing his song “In Color“. Another treat he had for the Oklahoma crowd was his cover of Don Williams’ “Tulsa Time“! Once the legend took the stage all bets were off! Nelson had the cove roaring with excitement as he famously opened with his classic “Whiskey River“. It seemed like he never took a breath, flowing from one song to another, “Mammas Continue reading Willie Nelson Country Throwdown Eufaula Oklahoma

Osage Creek Amphitheater Cancels Throwdown Tour

Osage Creek Amphitheater Cancels Willie Nelson’s Country Throwdown Tour. It is a sad day as many people are hearing of the recent Osage Creek Amphitheater news. Unfortunately Willie Nelson‘s greatly anticipated Country Throwdown Tour has been cancelled for July 3 in Northwest Arkansas. The weather, not the hardworking men and women who are involved in this event, is to blame. Because of the vast amount of snow, rain, and flooding the sight was at a standstill on many occasions. “We had a barrier of space in there for weather to be a factor, however, the unprecedented rains that we had made it impossible to even get to the site at times.” -Greg Smith Greg Smith, owner of the amphitheater, is determined to have the venue finished before the summer is over and looking forward to the first note to be played on the now unfinished stage. Smith has a positive mindset and is looking to re-schedule Willie Nelson and his friends for a later date this summer (let’s keep our fingers crossed!). For those who want a full refund for their tickets you can call (479)-239-4041, other ticket holders can save their tickets to be used for the hopeful re-booking. For those still interested in seeing the Country Throwdown Tour that same weekend, you are in luck. Saturday, July 2 the boys will make a stop in Eufaula, Ok at the Eufaula Cove Amphitheater and Monday, July 4 they will be in Fort Worth, Tx at Billy Bob’s. Osage Creek Amphitheater in NW Arkansas

CMNB would like to welcome the new Osage Creek Amphitheater to Northwest Arkansas! While the brand new Osage Creek Amphitheater is still under construction, the buzz around the new 15,000+ capacity music venue is so loud it’s making my ears ring! This outdoor amphitheater, nestled in the base of the Ozark foothills near Springdale, Arkansas, is the most well-thought-out state of the art venues our staff here has EVER seen, and coming from us, that says a lot! Greg Smith, the owner, operator, and lifeblood behind the venue’s construction has taken the time to consider every single aspect from fan experience all the way to stagehands convenience. Here are some of the nitty gritty dirty details on what I think will be the best summer music venue in our region! Facts about the Osage Creek Amphitheater: For the fans: The Osage Creek Amphitheater is absolutely enormous, seating almost as many people as BOK center, and far more than any other music venue in the area. Seating capacity can vary depending on the type of concert/festival, but in general it breaks down as follows: 150 VIP Seats 650 Orchestra (pit) Seats 1600 Terrace Seats 3500 Bleacher Seats 6,000 to 10,000 Lawn Capacity Osage Creek Amphitheater Seating Chart The amphitheater is located just 3 miles north of highway 412, making it convenient to residents of Fayetteville, Tulsa, Ft. Smith, Rogers, Springdale, Kansas City, Little Rock, and all the smaller surrounding towns. With many hotel and dining options in nearby Siloam Springs and Springdale, it’s easy to find lodging and services for those that are traveling a little further to see their favorite artists. They’re also just 20 minutes away from the XNA airport, adding even more convenience! Now let’s talk VIP – During our discussions about the venue, Greg made it a clear point that if you’re going to pay for VIP tickets, you’re going to need some VIP perks, and boy did he deliver! Besides best-in-house seating, the venue also features closer VIP parking, VIP concessions, VIP restroom facilities, and even a special mezzanine level which is ON STAGE so you don’t miss a single detail of the show! Don’t have the cash for VIP? Don’t worry, because Greg has made sure the venue was designed with convenience and show experience in mind. With concessions conveniently placed between seating levels, you don’t have to miss part of the show by waiting in line somewhere in the back 40. They’ve also worked in the perfect angles for all the seating, and even a 70 foot high stage opening so the highest seats still have a close and clear view of all the action! And speaking of seas, did I mention they’re bringing in the same style seats that are being used in the top-of-the-line Dallas Cowboys stadium? To top it all off, the amphitheater is being built in a natural bowl shape in the land, surrounded by beautiful rock bluffs, creeks, trees, and the best views in all creation. The icing on Continue reading Osage Creek Amphitheater in NW Arkansas

Willie Nelson — Naked Willie CD Review

Willie Nelson strips down and bares all in this reproduction of classic Nashville heritage found on Naked Willie Long before becoming The Redheaded Stranger, Willie Nelson was part of the classic Nashville  music machine. In the fashion of country music at the time, Willie’s unique voice and captivating songs were often drowned with orchestration and cheesy back-up singing which took away from the value of his music. It wasn’t long before Willie broke away from the artistic suffocation and became one of the first to fall under the “country music outlaw” flag. In “Naked Willie” you will find 17 of Willie Nelson’s songs, originally recorded between 1966 and 1970, completely stipped down and remastered to remove all the superfluous noise and showcase just the true music hiding underneath.  The album is far from displaying the raw simplicity of Willie’s voice, but definitely highlights his songwriting and his ability to insert true emotion into his performances. This is definitely a good starter album for new Willie Nelson fans, and a refresher course for those who have forgotten what country singers sound like amidst all the pop stars that currently label themselves “country”. If you’d like to hear what country sounds like, enter to win your copy of Naked Willie today by subscribing to our country music newsletter!
