Eli Young Band Set Release Date For New Video. The Eli Young Band will release their new video for track, “Even If It Breaks Your Heart“, on Friday, January 13th. You can catch the debut on both CMT and CMT.com as part of the “Premieres” series. In the meantime, EYB will be performing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday, January 9th on NBC at 11:35pm (ET). So, be sure and check them out! Waylon Jennings Tribute Vol 2 Release Date

Second Volume of Waylon Jennings Tribute Album Release Date Set. The Waylon Jennings tribute album, The Music Inside: A Collaboration Dedicated to Waylon Jennings, Volume II will be available February 7th. Volume I, released February 2011, included artists like Jamey Johnson, Alabama, Randy Houser, Sunny Sweeney, Kris Kristofferson and Trace Adkins as well as members of the Jennings clan, Shooter and Jessi Colter, not to mention one track sing by Waylon himself. The line-up of artists participating on Volume II is no less impressive. The ten tracks include Montgomery Gentry, Hank Williams Jr., Dierks Bentley, Justin Moore, Colt Ford and Jewel. There is also a bonus track from newbie Wyatt McCubbin. Jessi Colter is again making an appearance, this time singing a song she penned titled, “Mama“. For a complete track listing, see below. Introducing Six String Boys

Meet Six String Boys, An Up and Coming Texas Based Country Red Dirt Group You Should Notice! With the motto, “Six Strings and a Dream“, Texas-based Six String Boys (Josh Spivey, Rich Hermes, Evan Beran and Justin Ng) have a vision (that record deal!) for their future and the talent to back it up. Currently based in and around College Station these boys are aiming to make sure they’re creating music that will get heard, and with several projects in the works, they’re off to a good start. In DIY mode, this group has a documentary/music video hybrid in production that is being directed/produced by another Texas up and comer, news reporter turned video producer, Nicole Morten of Water Into Wine Productions. The video features Six String’s original tune “Take My Hand” as well as interviews with group members, giving everyone insight into the group’s beginnings and their motivation for where they’re headed! Also in the works is a complete album (to possibly release this year!) of original work. Their lyrics speak to real world experiences and down-home living that any country music fan could relate to, and the instrumentals have that country with a little-bit-of-rock-in-there vibe that sounds fine slow or can pick it up to get your foot to stompin’. All in all, what they have recorded at this point shows promise! To hear a little bit of what they’ve got goin’ on, see below. Beyond those projects, which is a lot in and of itself, Six String Boys is also hard at work playing as many live shows as they can. While they are willing to play just about anywhere, these boys do most of their playing in and around College Station.They have big plans though, aiming their reach towards Austin, San Antonio, Dallas (all the big Texas hot spots…and the smaller ones too!) and eventually beyond (Nashville, anyone?). These guys are down to earth, motivated and ready to put on a good show! So, keep an ear out if you’re in Texas or elsewhere for the Six String Boys. Canaan Smith Is Set To Release His Debut Single “We Got Us” To Radio! Canaan Smith will be releasing his very first single “We Got Us” to Country Music Radio January 9. The Mercury Records singer/songwriter has been named one of the top 12 artists to watch in 2012 by Country Weekly! The story of “We Got Us” is about a couple in love who take a leap of faith and set out on their own, fueled by their affection for one another. “Getting to be the voice for this song is a feeling like no other. It felt special when we wrote it and I am stoked to see the positive early feedback at radio! Thanks for all the support!” -Canaan Smith Canaan performed “We Got Us” to an audience for the first time at the Universal Music Group Nashville CRS luncheon held at the Ryman Auditorium last March. Neal McCoy Sets Release Date For Upcoming Album! Last year, Neal McCoy totally faked us out. He released a YouTube video hinting at the release of new material. Now, the fake out was that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert did the talking, and we all thought that THEY were releasing an album together. To our dismay Blake and Miranda were not talking about their own project, but to our delight they were talking about new music in the works from Neal McCoy! This album, titled XII, is scheduled to release on March 6th, 2012. It is co-produced by Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton (there’s the fake-out!), and guitarist Brent Rowan. His current single, “A-OK” released last year.

Norah Jones’ Side Project The Little Willies Release Album of Country Covers Norah Jones is know for her soulful voice and music as a jazz/pop artist. However, she is releasing a second album titled For The Good Times of country covers with side project, The Little Willies. The group first got together in 2003, and now includes Norah on piano/vocals, Richard Julian on vocals, Jim Campilongo on guitar, Lee Alexander on bass, and Dan Rieser on drums. This is the follow up to their first album, The Little Willies. The track listing includes covers of several of the iconic classics like Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash and, of course, Willie Nelson. The band is in fact named after Nelson, as he was one of her childhood favorites! You’ll find a complete track listing below, and be sure to check out what promises to be an intriguing album! Lauren Alaina Debuts New Video for Single “Georgia Peaches”. Lauren Alaina is set to release her video for her single “Georgia Peaches” this Friday, January 6th. The video will release on CMT at 8am ET/PT and will feature a 15 minute behind-the-scenes peak of the shoot. The video debut will also include an interview with Alaina! Tim McGraw Emotional Traffic Releases January 24

Tim McGraw’s Long-Awaited Emotional Traffic Will Release January 2012! After a long court battle which was partially resolved in November, Tim McGraw and Curb Records have set a release date for the long-awaited Emotional Traffic album, and fans can expect it to be available January 24th. The album features 12 tracks including latest #1 hit, “Felt Good On My Lips” and his current single, “Better Than I Used To Be”. The entire album was co-produced by McGraw along with Byron Gilmore, and McGraw also co-wrote, “I Will Not Fall Down” with Martina McBride and Brett and Brad Warren. Interestingly, R&B star Ne-Yo is thrown into the mix somehow featured on the “Only Human” track. Taylor Swift Teams with Civil Wars for Hunger Games Song “Safe & Sound”. Taylor Swift has teamed up with The Civil Wars to create a single titled “Safe & Sound” for the soundtrack for The Hunger Games. The film is based on the popular book trilogy and is set to release on March 23, 2012. The single hit the Top 10 upon its release on iTunes, and is clearly already being well-received by fans. You can check it out below. Interestingly, this song might be the most country song Swift has released. It has a melancholy quality that is appropriate for the themes of the film, and an Americana vibe no doubt brought in by The Civil Wars. It really is a beautiful song, and its great to see The Civil Wars on such a big project and to see Taylor reaching outside of her comfort zone. Listen and tell us what you think.
