Happy Thanksgiving! ! !

Country Music News Blog will be taking Thanksgiving week off to spend some much-needed time with family and friends. The staff (mostly me) here at Country Music News Blog want to wish you a warm and fun-filled kick off to the holiday season. We will be taking the next week off to spend time with our friends and family, and hope you get the chance to do the same. I personally would like to take a moment and share a few things I have become thankful for over the last year. First and foremost, I am thankful for the love of a very good man, who is my best friend in every way. Every challenge I have faced in the move across country and major transition from city life to country, I have done with his hand in mine, encouraging me along the way. I am thankful for my peers in this industry who give me inspiration and encouragement to follow my passion. I am thankful for my children, who I could not possibly be any more proud of. And, of course, I am thankful for you, my readers. I know there are many places you can go to get your country music news, and I am honored that my little blog is one of them. You have helped me achieve so many of my life goals just by visiting on a regular basis. All the giveaways and reader contests, and warm words cannot come close to demonstrating how much my readers mean to me. Thank you. Jason Michael Carroll shares his holiday spirit with a special Christmas album. In the great tradition of all country artists who have proved their worth in a recording studio, Jason Michael Carroll has taken the obvious next step in his relationship with fans. He has given us a Christmas album! “Christmas on the Farm” released yesterday, and is already enjoying a little radio airplay, even though we’re not in full holiday mode yet. “I have always wanted to do a Christmas album and as you can image having four children at home we do spend a lot of time singing around tree. When I heard ‘Christmas on the Farm’ I knew that was the song and one I thought radio would love to play. My kids have always wanted me to do a Christmas album, so with that song as the lead and my children’s favorite ‘Joy to The World’, I knew we had to do it,” says Jason Michael Carroll. Jason Aldean 2011 Tour Dates!

Jason Aldean takes the My Kind of Party tour to 32 venues in spring 2011! After phenomenal success with the release of “My Kind Of Party” it’s no surprise that Jason Aldean is naming his tour after that hit single! Jason sent out the announcement today that the 2011 My Kind of Party tour will reach 32 cities, with the official kick-off show in Little Rock, AR. Joining him on the tour is Eric Church and the JaneDear Girls. Opryland Hotel Offers Grand Re-Opening

The Opryland Hotel and Convention Center celebrates a star-studded grand re-opening after a $270 MILLION dollar restoration and renovation! The gals over at CountryMusicTattleTale.com have excellent coverage of the exciting grand re-opening of the Opryland Hotel in Nashville Tennessee. We all know that the flooding back in May did nothing short of grinding Nashville tourism to a halt, but our hearts broke when we saw how bad it damaged some of the town’s most historic landmarks. But like most hardships Tennessean’s face, they have turned this one into an opportunity as well. In addition to restoring the Opryland Hotel and repairing alll of the flood damage, they have also added more restaurants, attractions, and room upgrades throughout the entire facility. I for one, can’t wait to visit! Expect to see some welcome-back performances from Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow and Trace Adkins as we celebrate the rebirth of a Nashville Landmark. Rascal Flatts is in high gear with the release of “Nothing Like This“, an album which aims to capture the energy of a live show while maintaining the smooth intricacy of their long-celebrated harmonies. The album is already available on iTunes, and will be offered in a deluxe edition format at Walmart starting tomorrow. Martina McBride has made one of the biggest changes any country music artist can face at this stage in her career: She has moved away from RCA records and into Republic Nashville. The Judds Document the Last Encore Tour

The Judds to turn their Last Encore tour into a reality show on Oprah’s OWN network? Country’s classic duo, The Judds, have announced that they will be documenting their Last Encore tour to be aired on the Oprah Winfrey network. After watching the pair in a few recent interviews, I’m sure this will be interesting to say the very least. They both display so much tension between them, even in short interview segments, that I can only imagine what it would be like to follow them around with a camera 24/7. The duo is optimistic about the series though, stating: After 25 years of touring, recording and singing the music we love, we are beyond excited to begin this new adventure together and share it with the fans,” mother and daughter said in a statement. “To have this opportunity is amazing and the OWN Network is the perfect home for us.” I wish them both the best of luck and can’t wait for the tour to kick off later this month!
