American Music Awards Country Winners

Country Music Holds Its Own At American Music Awards! Sunday, November 20th, ABC aired the 2011 American Music Awards, and we’ve got the complete list of country winners! The AMAs is a fan-voted award show, and all of the nominees represent those artists who have dominated airwaves, charts, and sales. Country Music is one of several genres recognized, and in some cases country artists are in competition with artists from other genres. This round of country winners includes, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift who walked away with three awards including the top honor, Artist of the Year. (For the complete list see below). I have to say, for someone who is continually winning awards, Taylor Swift never ceases to show her humility and true appreciation for her fans! Coming after her second consecutive Entertainer of the Year CMA Award, Taylor Swift will no doubt have a lot to share in the 60 Minutes interview which will be aired Monday night! Swift’s melting pot blend of country has garnered her a massive and loyal fan base, and in the sneak preview below you can hear what the songstress has to say about her responsibilities to these fans. Miranda Lambert On Chelsea Lately

Miranda Lambert Joins The Female Comedian On The E Network. Miranda Lambert was the special guest on last night’s episode of Chelsea Lately on E! The two talked about everything from her music to her dogs. Both blondes have more in common than you would think, they are both very successful, tough women and have a special place in their hearts for Blake Shelton. As we all know Miranda and Blake got married last spring. For those of you who don’t know, Blake has been a guest on Handler’s show on a couple occasions where they shared some comical banter back and forth. Chelsea was really interested to know what Lambert’s obsession is with fire and the country singer answered with “I feel powerful when it’s around.” If you missed it make sure to look for reruns or go online to watch the full episode!

Sugarland Perform 2011 “CMA Country Christmas”

Sugarland Joins Line-up of Performers for 2011 “CMA Country Christmas. Not only will Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland be hosting the 2011 “CMA Country Christmas“, but she, and the other half of the Sugarland duo, Kristian Bush, are also joining the line-up of performers for the holiday special! They are set to perform the Christmas classic, “Silent Night“. Other performers include Lauren Alaina, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler, Little Big Town, Scotty McCreery, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and Vince Gill. The Christmas special will air on ABC on Thursday, December 1st at 9pm ET.

Blake Shelton Performs Footloose for CMT Invitation Only. You may have gotten a chance to watch Blake Shelton perform “Footloose” live on the 2011 CMA Awards, but that’s not the only place Shelton has been performing this track! In a recent performance for a much smaller audience, Blake performed his new, hit cover of the classic for CMT’s “Invitation Only“ on Monday, November 14th. The song is quite catchy in its original format, but I have to say, Shelton gives a certain spice to the song you simply will not find in the classic version. Martina McBride on Dancing With The Stars

Martina McBride Performs I’m Gonna Love You Through It on ABCs Dancing With The Stars. Martina McBride‘s album Eleven released October 11th, and she stopped by ABC’s Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday, October 25th to perform one of the singles off this album, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It“. This particular track of the album is especially important this month as it speaks to the struggle of fighting cancer, and the power and strength of love in this battle. Although these themes are continually relevant, as it is Breast Cancer Awareness month, they hold a special importance in this performance. Check out Martina’s Live Performance Here! 2011 American Country Awards

2011 American Country Awards Nominations, Dates, Voting Details and More! The 2nd Annual American Country Awards Nominations have been announced, and fan voting is open! The ACAs offer a wide variety of categories like those offered by the CMA Awards and the CMT Awards, but with other previously unrecognized categories like “Touring”. Voting will remain open until Friday, November 11th in all categories except Artist of the Year. Voting for the Artist of the Year category will remain open until, Friday, December 2nd, two before the live show airs. Fans are able to vote in each category once daily until the deadline. For a complete list of all the nominations and categories, see below. Thw 2011 ACAs will feature Kristen Chenoweth and Trace Adkins as hosts, and will air live on Monday, December 5th at 8pm ET on Fox. It will be a two-hour live awards special aired out of Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, and it will feature performances and appearances from all of the current year’s chart topping artists! CMT Artists Of The Year

CMT Reveals Their Artists Of The Year. CMT will honor Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley as the top artists of the year. CMT Artists Of The Year will premier December 13 at 9:00pm ET/PT and will last 90 minutes. The honorees were chosen by ranking them based on the following criteria: sales (physical albums, digital albums and single downloads); country radio airplay based on spins; concert grosses as a headliner or co-headliner; and activity on cmt.com (video streams, searches, and artist page views). The rankings were then compiled to identify the leading performers across the four categories cumulatively. Congratulations to the 5 acts that will be celebrated in early December! Kellie Pickler Guest On Ellen

Kellie Pickler Guests On The Ellen Degeneres Show. Kellie Pickler is out and about promoting her single “Tough” and the release of it’s brand new video, and she stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show Tuesday, October 4th. Now, if you’ve ever watch The Ellen Show, you know Ellen likes to get up to some pretty crazy hijinks, and always likes to have a little fun with her guests (this is definitely not your average talk show!). I really think the test of an easy-going individual is whether or not they are really willing to just go with it, and join in the joke with Ellen, even if they are the punch-line in the joke. Kellie Pickler is definitely one of these easy going individuals. Besides the interview, and performing “Tough“, Kellie also let Ellen and her assistants give her a “spa treatment” on stage. Now, this was not your run of the mill spa treatment, and really ended up looking more like an episode of “I Love Lucy“. Yet, Kellie went with it, and was a good sport for the sake of the humor! This little sketch really show cased Pickler’s personality and how personable she can be! You can check out the video clip of the “spa treatment” and Kellie’s live performance of “Tough” below. I suggest you watch both! Her performance of “Tough” is really great, and demonstrates just how much vocal talent that tiny frame of hers can contain, and the “spa treatment” clip is absolutely hilarious!
