2011 American Country Awards Nominations, Dates, Voting Details and More! The 2nd Annual American Country Awards Nominations have been announced, and fan voting is open! The ACAs offer a wide variety of categories like those offered by the CMA Awards and the CMT Awards, but with other previously unrecognized categories like “Touring”. Voting will remain open until Friday, November 11th in all categories except Artist of the Year. Voting for the Artist of the Year category will remain open until, Friday, December 2nd, two before the live show airs. Fans are able to vote in each category once daily until the deadline. For a complete list of all the nominations and categories, see below. Thw 2011 ACAs will feature Kristen Chenoweth and Trace Adkins as hosts, and will air live on Monday, December 5th at 8pm ET on Fox. It will be a two-hour live awards special aired out of Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, and it will feature performances and appearances from all of the current year’s chart topping artists! CMT Artists Of The Year

CMT Reveals Their Artists Of The Year. CMT will honor Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley as the top artists of the year. CMT Artists Of The Year will premier December 13 at 9:00pm ET/PT and will last 90 minutes. The honorees were chosen by ranking them based on the following criteria: sales (physical albums, digital albums and single downloads); country radio airplay based on spins; concert grosses as a headliner or co-headliner; and activity on cmt.com (video streams, searches, and artist page views). The rankings were then compiled to identify the leading performers across the four categories cumulatively. Congratulations to the 5 acts that will be celebrated in early December! Kellie Pickler Guest On Ellen

Kellie Pickler Guests On The Ellen Degeneres Show. Kellie Pickler is out and about promoting her single “Tough” and the release of it’s brand new video, and she stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show Tuesday, October 4th. Now, if you’ve ever watch The Ellen Show, you know Ellen likes to get up to some pretty crazy hijinks, and always likes to have a little fun with her guests (this is definitely not your average talk show!). I really think the test of an easy-going individual is whether or not they are really willing to just go with it, and join in the joke with Ellen, even if they are the punch-line in the joke. Kellie Pickler is definitely one of these easy going individuals. Besides the interview, and performing “Tough“, Kellie also let Ellen and her assistants give her a “spa treatment” on stage. Now, this was not your run of the mill spa treatment, and really ended up looking more like an episode of “I Love Lucy“. Yet, Kellie went with it, and was a good sport for the sake of the humor! This little sketch really show cased Pickler’s personality and how personable she can be! You can check out the video clip of the “spa treatment” and Kellie’s live performance of “Tough” below. Martina McBride on Invitation Only

Martina McBride Next Star on CMTs Invitation Only. Martina McBride will be the next country star featured on CMT‘s “Invitation Only“. The series features one artist per episode and includes that star’s performances of their all time hits as well as their newer music. Each episode also includes an informal question and answer sessions between the artists and fans. The episode is taped in Nashville with a small, live studio audience. Martina will be the artist taking the stage in the upcoming episode, and she will be performing her hits like “This One’s for the Girls,” “Love’s the Only House” and “Wrong Baby Wrong” in addition to new singles “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” and “Teenage Daughters”. Her most recent singles are off of her album, Eleven, which will be released on October 11th. Martina’s episode of “Invitation Only” will air Monday, October 17th at 10pm/11pm ET/PT on CMT.

Kellie Pickler On 90210

Kellie Pickler Guest Stars On 90210. Kellie Pickler is hitting the music scene with her recent single “Tough“, and she is also starting to branch out by cultivating her acting talent. Pickler will be guest starring on the CW remake of 90210. She will be filling the role of Sally, a (not surprising) country singing cousin of season regular Austin (played by Justin Deeley). Besides getting to see Kellie showcase her acting skills, viewers will also get to see a special performance of “Tough“. The episode will air October 18th on the CW Network, so check local listings for details on times! Pickler will preview clips of the upcoming episode on her appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show on Tuesday, October 4th.

Tom’s Wild Life On GAC

I Have To Share With You One Of My New Favorite Shows! First of all I’m going to admit that I am a bit of a reality TV junky…yes, I’m guilty! One of my new favorite shows is “Tom’s Wild Life” on GAC! The series was premiered Sunday, September 18 and is hilarious! It is a reality show that is based on Tom McMillan’s life and outfitting business. Each episode includes him, his family and friends (usually from the country music world) hanging out and hunting! The first episode we are introduced to Tom and his friendship with Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. We are invited to their Halloween party as well as a successful hunting trip! The second episode features Josh Kelly, Miranda Lambert’s parents, tattoos, fly fishing and turkeys. This past Sunday Tom was joined by Ashley Monroe, Miranda Lambert and Angaleena Presley, the ladies of Pistol Annies! It is just a fun show that has me laughing the entire time, so I thought I’d share it with you in case you were looking for a new Sunday night program. It comes on at 9/8c on GAC every Sunday! Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will Perform Remind Me at CMA Awards! The November 9th, 2011 CMA Awards show will officially mark the first live performance of Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood‘s duet Remind Me! So, this is turning out to be quite a busy night for both Paisley and Underwood! In addition to this performance, don’t forget that the pair are reprising last year’s role as hosts for the award show. Also, Paisley has been nominated in a total of five categories and Carrie is nominated for the female vocalist category! I hope they both get plenty of rest the night before the show! The 2011 CMA Awards will take place on November 9th, and air on ABC at 8PM ET. Tickets for the 45th Annual CMA Awards are on sale now!

CMA Announces First Performers

First Round of Performers for 2011 CMA Awards Announced! The 45th Annual CMA Awards are quickly approaching, and there is much chatter all over the industry about all the details from nominations to possible performances to this year’s hosts! We heard weeks ago that Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be reprising their roles of host from the 2010 CMA Awards, and the nominations for all twelve categories were announced just a week or so ago. (Click here to see more on the nominations!) Now, slowly but surely, the list of performers anticipated for the show are starting to be announced as well. We just got news of the first round of performances confirmed, and I do not think you will be disappointed! All five of the artists nominated in the “Entertainer of the Year” category, and this includes Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban. Also of note, four of the nominees, basically everyone except Keith Urban, all earned five nominations this year! The 2011 CMA Awards will take place on November 9th, and air on ABC at 8PM ET. Tickets for the 45th Annual CMA Awards go on sale on Saturday, September 24th at 10:00AM CT.

New TV Series Troubadour TX

Troubadour, TX, A New Doc-Style Music TV Series Debuts Soon! Dallas based London Broadcasting and 41 Entertainment have joined forces to bring music fans a brand new reality documentary style music series title “Troubadour, TX“. The series will focus on twelve singers and songwriters as they attempt to build their musical careers in the Lone Star State. The series will feature artists from multiple genres of music including Country, Americana, Blues, and Rock among others, and will provide a behind-the-scenes perspective into the lives and growing careers of the featured artists. Episodes are filmed on location in Texas as the TTX production crews tirelessly follow the featured singers and songwriters on the road and at home. This series promises to provide a fresher perspective and grittier insight into the daily grind of the fledgling musician that you simply will not find on shows like CMT’s Next Superstar or American Idol.
