Nicole Kidman Includes Keith Urban in Golden Globes Acceptance

In a time of gender divides and terrible revelations, country’s sweetheart couple stands together as an example of love and respect. In last night’s Golden Globe award ceremony the pair flashed another set of great relationship goals as Nicole Kidman included husband Keith Urban in her acceptance speech for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series for her role as Celeste Wright in HBO’s Big Little Lies. “Keith Urban, when my cheek  is against yours, everything melts away, and that is love. It’s true. I love you so much,” she said. Her impassioned speech included appreciation for her co-stars of the series, including co-producer Reese Witherspoon, as well as Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz. The show went on to win Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. Alexander Skarsgard and Laura Dern also picked up Best Supporting awards for their roles in Big Little Lies.   Keith is making his way up the country charts with his latest song, “Female.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8BhbOqgTAI

The Legend of Leo Fender

Hot off the press at CountryMusicNewsBlog.com!

Leo Fender: The Legacy Of This Brilliant Man Lives On Through Music Giants Around The World Fullerton, CA, December 21, 2017 ― The world occasionally produces one of those rare thinkers whose name becomes iconic. Thomas Edison lit up the world; Albert Einstein profoundly altered the study of physics; Walt Disney reimagined entertainment; and Leo Fender invented the electric guitar. Fender grew up in Fullerton, California, where his interest in electronics lead him to open his own radio repair shop in 1938. It wasn’t long before musicians and band leaders turned to him for help in repairing their equipment. And the rest, as they say, is history. Keith Richards, The Rolling Stones: “When other companies made electric guitars, that is all they did.  Leo had the whole concept in mind.  He made an amplifier to match. It is, after all electric. This left the other guys with half an egg. So simple, so complete whether you prefer a stratocaster or a telecaster. If you used a Fender amp, you had the whole deal. Sturdy, reliable and beautifully made, they remain the standard that others strived to reach, let alone the BASS!!” Fender’s revolutionary guitar, the Fender Stratocaster, has been the preference of world-renowned musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, George Harrison and Jeff Beck — to name a few. While his name is synonymous with fist-pumping rock and roll sound, in reality, Fender was a shy, unassuming inventor who was nearly deaf and had one glass eye. In 1946 he founded Fender Electric Instrument Manufacturing Company — the launch pad for his most iconic designs — and later on, G&L Musical Instruments.  And now, his wife Phyllis Fender gives readers a memory-filled look into the wonderful world of this quiet genius in the book, Leo Fender: The Quiet Giant Heard Around the World. The book was co-written by Randall Bell, Ph.D., who grew up in Fender’s neighborhood and whose father was the head of the R&D department at Fender’s company. Eric Dahl, Maverick Magazine: “Few names in the world of guitars are more recognized than Fender. If Leo had stopped after creating the Telecaster he would still hold a secure place in guitar history. Not only is he in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but Fender also received a Grammy Award, Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award and an ACM award … . Phyllis and Randall are both obviously proud of the legacy that Leo left behind. This book reads more like a personal journal with family photos interspersed between touching moments. Leo Fender – The Quiet Giant Heard Around the World isn’t a guitar book but if you’re a fan of the man that invented them it is a must read!” Fender’s game-changing contributions to the music world have been widely recognized. He was presented with the Country Music Association Pioneer Award in 1981; was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rock Walk of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall Continue reading The Legend of Leo Fender

SEASONS CHANGE FOR SCOTTY McCREERY –   NEW ALBUM DUE MARCH 16 Singer Returns with first LP in 5 Years; Debut Album on Sony Imprint, Triple Tigers Records Earlier this year, Scotty McCreery released his single, “Five More Minutes,” a song People called an “emotional walk down memory lane” that pleads for more time with the people and experiences that are important in his life. The ACM, BMI and CMT Award winner wrote the Top 20-and-climbing hit song that The Tennessean says “pulls heartstrings” just two weeks after the passing of his grandfather. Now, the North Carolina native expands on his reflections about life with his highly-anticipated third studio album, Seasons Change, due March 16 on Triple Tigers Records, a Sony Music imprint – his first album on the label. The project was produced by Frank Rogers (McCreery’s See You Tonight, Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker), Derek Wells (guitarist for Kenny Chesney, Brett Eldridge, Little Big Town), and Aaron Eshuis (producer for Ryan Hurd, songwriter for A Thousand Horses, Joe Nichols, Cole Swindell). Autographed copies of Seasons Change bundled with exclusive merchandise options will be available for pre-order at ScottyMcCreery.com beginning Wednesday, December 20. The official online retail stores’ pre-order, including iTunes and Amazon, will begin on January 12, 2018. In the five years since he released his last album, the now-24-year-old, McCreery, grew up, built a life outside the spotlight, left college, performed around the world, lost one record deal and gained another, released a book, moved to Nashville, and more. In September, he proposed to his long-time girlfriend Gabi Dugal in the mountains of North Carolina. All of these experiences serve as the foundation of Seasons Change. “In the last five years, I have grown from a teenager to a man, moved out on my own, lost my grandfather, proposed to the love of my life, and learned more about myself than I could have imagined,” said McCreery. “This all shows up in the 11 songs on Seasons Change, and I cannot wait to share this music with my fans after such a long time between releases.” “For the first time, I wrote all the songs on my album,” McCreery continued. “It’s kind of my journal of the last few years: the ups and the downs. Whenever I think things are not going well, I’ve learned to just wait it out because the seasons change. If you want to know who I am and where I’m at right now, listen to this album. I feel like I’m having a conversation with everyone that listens. It’s that personal.” Seasons Change features songs spotlighting his love for his fiancée (including one song written a week before he proposed), his adventures with his lifelong friends, his reflections on life, and coming to terms with the man he has become. The album marks a first for McCreery, as it’s the first time he’s co-written all the songs on an album. Among his co-writers are Jessi Alexander (Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton), Monty Criswell Continue reading Scotty McCreery Announces First Album in 5 Years
