Watch: Jana Kramer Whiskey Official Video

Watch: Jana Kramer’s Video for Single “Whiskey”! Jana Kramer officially released her video for “Whiskey” about a month ago, and I just can’t get enough of this song! First of all, there’s just somethin’ about Kramer’s voice. She somehow manages to pack in tons of emotion, and she’s got just the right amount of twang hovering around those notes! Secondly, this is just straight up a well written song. I love the turn of the phrase, “should of just called him whiskey”. It conjures up such a vivid imagery, and immediately connects the listener to the lyrics. So yeah, I’m loving the song and I’m loving the video! If you haven’t heard/seen it yet, you need to do it now! Watch below. Jana Kramer: “Whiskey” Video.

Tim McGraw Teams Up with Ne-Yo

Tim McGraw Gets Into His R&B Side with Ne-Yo Collaboration. I don’t know if you heard about this or not, but it looks like Tim McGraw is exploring his R&B side yet again. This time he’s working with Ne-Yo on new single, “She Is” featured on his November 6th album release, R.E.D. (Realizing Every Dream). Even though I expected this to be not the best thing ever, truth is, its not that bad of a song. I actually think McGraw improves on the song…in a big way. So, Tim likes to wear lots of different hats (actor, country, R&B, one half of a power couple)…no biggie. I just hope he isn’t considering a more permanent migration to this genre. Check it out for yourself below. Listen: Tim McGraw Featured On Ne-Yo Track, “She Is“. Remember This: Tim McGraw Sings “Over and Over” with Nelly?

Blake Shelton Christmas Special Airs Next Week December 3rd

Blake Shelton’s “Not So Family Christmas” Special Airs On NBC Next Week, December 3rd! I generally like to wait until after Thanksgiving to get in the Christmas spirit, and tuning in to Blake Shelton‘s Christmas Special on Monday, December 3rd is going to be a great way to kick off this month’s festivities! Since The Voice is going so well for Shelton, it makes complete sense the network would give him a time slot for a Holiday special, and it looks like its gonna be pretty good! The TV holiday show is humorously titled “Blake Shelton’s Not So Family Christmas“, and will feature performances tunes from his recently released Christmas album, “Cheers, Its Christmas” including duets with Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson and (adorably) his mother, Dorothy Shackleford! That already sounds like a great program to me, but there’s more. Comedians Jay Leno and Larry the Cable Guy and The Voice coach Christina Aguilera will making appearances for comedy sketches throughout the show. Check out the previews below and be sure to tune in on Monday, December 3rd at 10pm ET on NBC! Blake Shelton’s Not So Family Christmas Special Preview.

Lee Brice: I Drive Your Truck Single Review

Lee Brice “I Drive Your Truck” Straight To A Country Hit? – Review. Lee Brice missed out on being honoured as winner of the New Artist Award at the 2012 CMA Awards, but that’s to no detriment of his music. He’s not new to the scene as the nomination suggests, but released an album in 2010, Love Like Crazy that managed to get to number 9 in the charts. I’ll be honest in saying that I’d never heard of him until the release of “A Woman Like You” that shot in to the number 1 country spot, with its follow-up “Hard to Love” coming in at number 4. His new release “I Drive Your Truck” is certain to do well, and I predict a solid number 2 for this country/pop belter that really pulls at the heartstrings. The Story Behind the Single. Lee has previously said that he’s dedicating this song to his granddad, and that when he heard it he just ‘had to record it’. With that background information it’s easy to make sense of a certain interpretation of the song, the lyrics telling the story of a man driving the truck of a loved one who is no longer with them, and trying to cope with the sudden news of death. It’s a theme which is universal, even if not everyone copes with death by driving that person’s old truck, and Lee recognizes that, “people got their ways of coping, oh and I got mine”. Lines such as “that flag and stone ain’t where I feel you anyway” are particularly heartbreaking and I know will be endlessly quoted by people who relate to that very same sentiment. Why This Single Is So Great. Lyrically it’s fantastically crafted, (so hats off to the songwriters Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington and Jimmy Yeary) and is definitely worth listening to properly and pouring over the lyrics for this reason. Musically, it’s a driving kind of song (appropriate) with its ‘driving’ beat and downwards guitar strumming, piano adding a more delicate and softer approach and providing the main riff. There’s also a pedal steel guitar in there to offset the pop/rock feel that is evident through a lot of Lee Brice’s music, for a more country element. Essentially, it’s a power ballad, which is what really makes this song work and emphasizes the feelings of intense emotion and desperation when a loved one dies. Predictions for Lee Brice… This is one of the best lyrical efforts I’ve heard in a long time, and the instrumentation and Lee’s meaningful and slightly straining vocals (great for the song’s mood) are only there to support the lyrics, but only in that they don’t overpower the meaning of the song. With “I Drive Your Truck“, it’s all in the specific details and imagery that makes it so universal and beautiful, because as they say, “it’s always the little things.” Fantastic song, and I can see big things to come both for Lee and this release, as it Continue reading Lee Brice: I Drive Your Truck Single Review

Watch: Carrie Underwood Two Black Cadillacs Video Trailer

Watch Teaser for Carrie Underwood’s “Two Black Cadillacs” Music Video. Last week on Black Friday, Carrie Underwood gave fans a peak at her upcoming video for current single, “Two Black Cadillacs“! From the teaser, it looks like this is going to be one serious and dramatic video, similar to her video for “Blown Away”. We’ve Carrie in sky high stilettos, everything is black or dark grey and the creatives are using some seriously intense piano work to drum up the suspense! I made the observation recently that Underwood’s latest album is quite a bit darker than her earlier work, and this new trailer just proves that even more! Take a look below, and see what you think.
