Toby Keith’s Ode To The Red Solo Cup Will Be Featured On Glee! There has been a rumor floating around for a couple of weeks now that Toby Keith‘s humorous single, “Red Solo Cup” might make its way onto Fox‘s musical teen dramedy, “Glee“, and these rumors are now confirmed! Keith’s silly salute will make an appearance on the Tuesday, December 6th episode of the show. For those of you who are fans of Glee already, this will no doubt be a Gleek high point. For those of you who are not fans of yet…it might take a little more to get you excited about a cast of teenagers offer their rendition of the song. Maybe Toby Keith will make an appearance! In a special event, Country Music: In Performance at the White House, hosted by President Obama and Mrs. Obama, these country artists, inlcuding, Dierks Bentley, Lauren Alaina, Lyle Lovett, Alison Krauss, The Band Perry, Kris Kristofferson, Darius Rucker, James Taylor and Capital Records newcomer Mickey, come together to celebrate the rich history of country music which has evolved with America through the years. These performers pay tribute to country music, and some of its most iconic figures through music of their own as well as classic hits. Vince Gill will be this year’s host of America’s Opry Weekend:Thanksgiving Special which will celebrate not only Thanksgiving but the beginning of the holiday season! The radio special is scheduled to air during all of Thanksgiving week between November 23rd and November 27th. Gill will be playing a selection of greatest hits which focus on home, life and giving thanks, and he will also be featuring some of his own music including tracks from the recently released Guitar Slinger and holiday songs from 2011 “Twelve Days of Christmas” tour with wife Amy Grant. Country Music Holds Its Own At American Music Awards! Sunday, November 20th, ABC aired the 2011 American Music Awards, and we’ve got the complete list of country winners! The AMAs is a fan-voted award show, and all of the nominees represent those artists who have dominated airwaves, charts, and sales. Country Music is one of several genres recognized, and in some cases country artists are in competition with artists from other genres. This round of country winners includes, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift who walked away with three awards including the top honor, Artist of the Year. LiveWire Honors Joplin With Miracle Of The Human Spirit. The members of the emerging country group LiveWire were born and raised in Joplin, and have released a music video that pays homage to the strength of their town in the aftermath. The music video for “Miracle of the Human Spirit” not only shows Joplin’s resolve, but also serves to continue building awareness for the ongoing work the town faces to rebuild. “Miracle of the Human Spirit” will be available on iTunes and other digital retailers on November 22. All proceeds will go to Joplin Tornado First Response Fund c/o Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri. www.cfswmo.org “Miracle of the Human Spirit” was written by LiveWire rhythm guitarist, Danny Bell, who wrote the song as an outpouring of emotion in reaction to the devastating and deadly tornado.
