Lauren Alaina White House Performances

Lauren Alaina Performs Classic Country At Special Country Music: In Performance at the White House. Lauren Alaina has been on the country scene for less than a year and has already made huge strides as a performer. Granted, as Season 10 runner-up, she is heavily backed by the media giants behind American Idol, but it is impossible to deny that she has a wealth of talent. Another stand-out trait the 16-year old possesses is a surprising amount of grace and poise. Despite the fact that she’s a teenager, Lauren behaves like a pro at every performance or appearance. This was certainly put to the test at her recent gig on the PBS special, Country Music: In Performance at the White House, and she passed with flying colors. Not only was she performing for the President of the United States, a huge honor in and of itself, but she also held her own with some of country music’s masters, Lyle Lovett and James Taylor, and contemporary favorites, Dierks Bentley and Darius Rucker. Alaina performed a duo with Dierks Bentley of the classic “Always On My Mind” and did a solo version of Loretta Lynn‘s famous “Coal Miner’s Daughter“. You can catch videos of both performances below. With the release of her debut solo album, Wildflower, just months after her successful season on American Idol, along with with several high profile appearances and performances, it is clear that Lauren Alaina is going places and has the work ethic to get there. JaneDear Girls On CW’s Hart of Dixie

The JaneDear Girls to Perform on Episode of CW’s Hart of Dixie! The CW Network must really love their country music! First, Kellie Pickler got to stop by the 90210 set to perform on an episode, and now The JaneDear Girls will be featured on an upcoming episode of the network’s new series “Hart of Dixie“. The series is in its debut season and features a young, fresh out of medical school doctor played by Rachel Bilson, who through a series of comedic and somewhat cliche events winds up working at a practice in a tiny southern Alabama town. The JaneDear Girls will appear in the Monday, November 28th episode titled “The Pirate and The Practice“. It will air at 9pm ET on the CW(check local listings!), and the girls will be performing their single “Shotgun Girl” at the town’s “planksgiving” festival. I’m not so sure about this series, but I had the chance to see The JaneDear Girls perform live this summer in Memphis. They are spectacular performers and musicians, and any chance to see them perform is a good one! So, be sure to tune in (even if you only watch long enough to see the girls singin’!). Alabama Receive Award at American Country Awards

Alabama to Receive Honor at 2011 ACAs. Iconic country group, Alabama are set to receive a special award, the Greatest Hits Award, at the 2011 American Country Awards. The band is also scheduled to join the line-up of performers for the television special. Many fans complained about the lack of “real country” at the 2011 CMAs. Perhaps, the ACAs are trying to answer this complaint by refocusing on more traditional country music. Just a thought. The 2011 ACAs will feature Kristen Chenoweth and Trace Adkins as hosts, and will air live on Monday, December 5th at 8pm ET on Fox. The list of performers so far includes both hosts as well as Blake Shelton, Pistol Annies, Thompson Square, Eli Young Band, The Band Perry, Scotty McCreery, Miranda Lambert and Lauren Alaina.

Kid Rock and Angaleena Presley Care

New Video for Care from Kid Rock and Angaleena Presley Kid Rock released the video for his current single, “Care” on Wednesday, November 23rd. Thanksgiving week is definitely an appropriate debut window for the social awareness-themed video which advocates social change at the individual level with a simple thought: just care about others. It’s a touching, relevant and interesting video which will no doubt appeal to both Kid Rock fans and those who maybe wouldn’t normally give his music a listen. The single comes off of Kid Rock’s current album, Born Free, and the album track actually features Martina McBride. However, the video features Angaleena Presley of Pistol Annies, and she makes a good addition, for sure! As is a current trend in country music (especially those artists and songs that lean a little rock-ish), the track also gets a rap influence in the contributions of rapper T.I. The single and its video are attached to a 12 date charity tour Kid Rock is engaged in now. With the help of business executives from his hometown of Detroit, Rock has managed to raise over 375,000 on the Care tour which will be given to local charities. The tour began November 11th, and will conclude in Boise, Idaho on December 4th. Check Out Kid Rock’s Video for “Care” Featuring Angaleena Presley and T.I.
