Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina Career Debuts at Grand Ole Opry. Well, we already know American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery, and runner-up Lauren Alaina are headed to Nashville for next week for the CMT Music Awards and CMA Music Festival. Now, it seems they are packing even more into their already busy schedule of appearances and performances. Both are interested in pursuing a country music career, and it looks like they will be making their debuts in one of the most iconic ways possible, through the Grand Ole Opry. The two have been added to the Friday, June 10th concert at the Opry, joining the ranks of Randy Travis and Billy Ray Cyrus who are also scheduled to perform that night. As if that wasn’t enough, Scotty and Lauren will also be heading out Saturday with Vince Gill, Dierks Bentley, David Nail and others for the 21st annual City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge to raise money for the City of Hope’s life-saving research, treatment and education programs in the fight against cancer. Scotty’s and Lauren’s schedules are wearing me out! Next week is going to be intense for them, but what an amazing opportunity for the two to be able to sing at the Grand Ole Opry especially so soon after wrapping up Idol. Not to mention how amazing it must seem for the two of them to be sharing the stage and getting involved with some of country music’s most popular alumni.

Luke Bryan Will Be Headlining CMT On Tour This Fall. The 10th Annual CMT On Tour kicks off in September and Luke Bryan has been announced as the headliner for the concert series. The tour will follow up on the release of Bryan’s third studio album, Tailgates & Tanlines, on August 9th. He will be joined by Lee Brice and Josh Thompson. Luke has expressed excitement over the chance to get involved with the popular tour. “It’s all about having fun on stage with the band and giving our fans a night of entertainment. I certainly am following in good footsteps of the other artists who have had the opportunity to headline a CMT Tour. Frankie Ballard Releases Video for A Buncha Girls Single. Frankie Ballard‘s single “A Buncha Girls” has summer party hit written all over it. This is the first single of Frankie’s debut self-titled album which was released earlier the year, and it is available now on iTunes. Hailing from Michigan Ballard has risen out of obscurity rather quickly obtaining his first record contract in 2009, and garnering “top 5 video chart” notoriety for his first single release “Tell Me You Get Lonely“in 2010. Most recently, it was announced he will be an opening act for the U.S. leg of Taylor Swift‘s Speak Now tour. Frankie has a vibe influenced by multiple genres, and he cites a wide range of influences from Stevie Ray Vaughan to Brad Paisley. “A Buncha Girls” is a fun, upbeat song which show cases Ballard’s personality and talent. CMA Music Festival Welcomes Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina! American Idol winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina are wasting no time, and are jumping straight into the country music industry head first. As Idol winner and runner-up, the pair put the national music spotlight directly on country music right in time for the 2011 CMA Music Festival in Nashville next week. Details are still being ironed out, but it seems fans can expect to see both Scotty and Lauren at this year’s CMA Music Festival. “I think we’re gonna try and get me and Lauren out there to (Fan Fair) this year. They’re trying to work out the specifics right now about where we’re gonna be playing, the booth signings and maybe playing at the Grand Ole Opry. They’re working all this out as we speak. But we’re gonna be down there for sure, I think.” -Scotty McCreery No doubt both the finalists lives have been turned upside down by their explosive entrance into fame, but they seem to be making the best of the insanity and getting right down to business. The 2011 CMA Music Festival, formerly known as Fan Fair, will be taking place at Nashville’s LP Field next week, June 9-12.

Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton Raise Bundle for Relief

Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton Raise Large Sum through Benefit Concerts. Reba and Blake Shelton hosted two “Tornado Relief Concerts” at the Choctaw Events Center in Durant on May 25th and 26th, and managed to raise a total of $500,00 as both shows sold out. The proceeds are being donated to victims of recent severe storms and tornadoes in Atoka County, OK. Both Reba and Blake are Oklahoma natives, and organized the two shows in an effort to show their supports for their fellow Oklahomans. Both performances lasted for over two hours and each included a jam-packed set and an encore. The pair co-headlined the event, opening with a duet of “Oklahoma Swing.” The two sang a combination of their hits including Reba’s “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” “Why Haven’t I Heard From You,” “Turn on the Radio” and “Consider Me Gone,” and Blake’s “All About Tonight,” “Goodbye Time,” “Hillbilly Bone” and “Some Beach.” The set lists also included more recent singles like Reba’s “When Love Gets a Hold of You” and Blake’s chart-topping “Honey Bee“. At the May 26th show, fans were greeted with a special treat as Susie McEntire-Eaton and Kelly Clarkson stopped by for surprise appearances. All proceeds raised from both shows and donations from The Choctaw Nation and fans, will go towards Atoka County’s ongoing relief efforts through the Tushka Disaster Relief Fund. Additionally, for those still wanting to lend a helping hand, a special mobile fundraising campaign has been set up with The mGive Foundation. Fans can text “OKGIVE” to 27722 to make a one-time $10 donation, which will be added to their monthly cell phone bill. Checks can also be made out to the Tushka Disaster Relief Fund and mailed to: 101 SE 1st Street, Tushka, OK 74525.

2011 CMA Awards Date Announced

The Date Is Set For 2011 CMA Awards! The date is set! The 45th Annual Country Music Association Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Area Wednesday, November 9th at 8/7CT on ABC! CMA organizers are already gearing up for the big night, and expressing their excitement for what promises to be a barrel of fun for country music stars and fans. “The CMA Awards recognizes the best in the format – that’s what makes this ‘Country Music’s Biggest Night’. The CMA Awards is one of the most highly anticipated events for our industry each year. It’s a night to honor our finest performers, songwriters, record producers, musicians, and music video directors.” -Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer No news yet on who will be this year’s hosts or presenters. Amber Hayes in Upcoming Cowgirls N’ Angels Movie

Amber Hayes Acts in Cowgirls N’ Angels Movies and Featured on Soundtrack. Newcomer to the country music scene and Oklahoma native Amber Hayes has been cast in the upcoming family friendly movie production, Cowgirls N’ Angels. Hayes just hit the scene in the past few months with the production of her six song EP C’mon in 2010 and subsequent release of her first single “Wait“. She may be new to the role of solo country artist, but this does not mean she lacks experience! Before this year and launching her solo career, Amber utilized her vocal skills in musical theater starring in shows like “It’s Only Make Believe“, a musical about Conway Twitty. By landing the role in Cowgirls N’ Angels Amber has had the opportunity to combine both her career paths. “This was such a thrill for me to be cast in ‘Cowgirls N’ Angels…I had a wonderful time trying my hand at something new. I’m so excited to see the finished movie next year!” -Amber Hayes Cowgirls N’ Angels is the coming-of-age story of Ida Clayton (played by Bailee Madison), a rebellious young girl in search of her rodeo-riding father. On her journey, Clayton meets and joins the Sweethearts of the Rodeo, an all-female group of riders organized by former rodeo star Terence Parker (played by James Cromwell). Hayes plays the supporting role of honky tonk singer Amber Grant. Hayes’ original songs “C’mon” and “Right as Rain,” from her EP are featured prominently in the movie and on the soundtrack. One new unreleased track, a ballad written specifically for the film by the rising Country star and titled “Always There For Me,” is also included. The film was shot in several cities and communities across Hayes’ native state, including Stillwater, Guthrie, Pawnee and Oklahoma City, which is only 90 miles from Amber’s hometown of Weleetka, Oklahoma. CMT Music Awards Adds Presenters

CMT Music Awards Adds Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina and Others to Presenter Line-Up. As the date of the 2011 CMT Music Awards grows closer, the list of presenters keeps expanding! In a bit of a no-brainer, show officials have added both this year’s American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery, and runner-up Lauren Alaina as presenters. Other additional presenters include actress Melissa Peterman, CMT original movie “To The Mat” stars Laura Bell Bundy and Ricky Schroder, Shania Twain, Sara Evans, Luke Bryan and Sheryl Crow. The new additions also include several non-country oriented stars like Kristin Chenoweth, Mary Steenburgen, Train, and Green Bay Packers’ Clay Matthews. Sheryl Crow will also be filling the shoes of this year’s CMT One Country spokesperson. The show premiers live out of Nashville on Wednesday, June 8th at 8pm ET on CMT and CMT.com. Sugarland Aids in Relief Efforts

Sugarland Offers Helping Hand Through Special Video of “Stand Up”. Sugarland, with the help of Little Big Town, has taken a little time out of their 2011 The Incredible Machine Tour to lend a helping hand to those in need after the devastation of tornadoes and severe storms rocked Alabama and more recently Missouri. They are offering a special performance and video clip of “Stand Up” to fans in an effort to raise awareness and funds for the needs of victims still suffering from this Spring’s batch of severe weather. The special edition is titled “Stand Up (For Tornado Relief)“, features friends and tour mates Little Big Town, and premieres on iTunes Tuesday, May 31st.
