Jason Aldean Gets Ticketed

Twitter Users Get Fired Up After Jason Aldean Comments On Getting A Ticket. Yesterday while enjoying a nice day on the beach, Jason Aldean received a ticket for being in the water when flags were up. He tweeted about this happening and was apparently bombarded with tweets condeming his words. Here is what Aldean tweeted… “Dear officer who gave me a ticket on the beach today for swimming in the water with double red flags…Thanx for the warning Barney Fife!” “I know he was doin his job, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t drown in knee deep water. Gimme a break!” “Chill people…I’m not b***hin’, I’m just sayin…When there is 100 people in the water and u pick 2 of them to give a ticket to …WTH?” “I respect all law enforcement & I am thankful for what they do for us, but me & that 12 yr old who got the other $100 tix. are a lil’ bitter.” “I love it when y’all get fired up on here! Woooooo!” “Y’all gettin’ way too worked up over this… I was just having fun & joking then everybody started goin’ crazy. Simmer down peeps it’s all good.” Aldean also tweeted a picture with the the beach full of others in the water as well with the caption “I would like to present exhibit A! Case closed!” exibit Well…In my personal opinion…I’m with Jason! I know for a fact my family would have reacted the same exact way in this situation. Let’s be real…I bet 85% of people would have too. What do you think? Was the “Fly Over States” singer in the wrong? Or did twitter users take an innocent joke and turn it into something else? Let us know!

Waylon Jennings Birthday Bash

Join The Celebration Of Waylon Jennings And His Nationwide Birthday Bash! Country music artists Keith Urban, Kris Kristofferson, Billy Ray Cyrus and Jamey Johnson urge millions of Waylon Jennings fans to come together this summer for a nationwide series of Waylon Birthday Bashes, funding diabetes research at TGen. Urban, Kristofferson, Cyrus and Johnson are among the members of the new National Honorary Committee for The Waylon Fund for Diabetes Research. All contributions to the fund go to the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), one of the nation’s premier non-profit biomedical research institutes. The fund helps TGen to quickly translate laboratory discoveries into new ways to diagnose and treat diabetes, which affects nearly 26 million Americans. Waylon’s “kicking down the doors” style of music will infuse the events, which feature regional and national acts, including: Shooter Jennings, Tommy Jennings, and the Rowdy Johnson Band. In a suburb of Phoenix, the headquarters of TGen, a Waylon Birthday Bash is planned June 17 at the Yucca Tap Room in Tempe. This bash features “DJ Dana” Armstrong, founder of Valley Fever Country Night, and several local live-music acts: Ray Lawrence Jr., Tony Martinez, James Parks, Steve Larson and Hans Olson. Also appearing from Nashville is J.P. Harris and The Tough Choices. “We have a built-in Waylon fan base here who are happy to support a progressive diabetes research fund in his name. We have held Waylon tribute nights in the past, and if we can raise awareness and some funds for TGen in this way, I know we will have a good time doing it,” Armstrong said. The dates and locations of Waylon Birthday Bashes are: June 8-10 — A three-day Honky Tonk Throwdown at PJ’s Lager House in Detroit. June 15 — The Wayland in New York; Firehouse Saloon in Houston; and High Dive in Seattle. June 15-16 — A two-day event, featuring Waylon’s son Shooter Jennings, is set for a festival in Whiteface, Texas, (near Waylon’s his hometown of Littlefield). June 17 — Richie Albright, Waylon’s long-time drummer and co-producer, and Waymore’s Outlaws at Robert’s Western World in Nashville; and Valley Fever Country Night at the Yucca Tap Room in Tempe. Birthday bashes will be promoted by Waylon Fund Partners — which includes Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI), Music News Nashville (MNN), Sony Music, Universal Music Publishing Group, Country Music Nation (CMN), and the Ernest Tubb Records Shops — with messages expected to reach more than 1 million Waylon fans. Waylon Birthday Bashes originated from everyday Waylon fans who loved his music and his “Outlaw” genre, which challenged the Nashville establishment, spearheaded crossover appeal and re-popularized country music. In the same spirit as the “Outlaw” movement, The Waylon Fund enables TGen scientists to challenge conventional ideas and discover novel ways of attacking diabetes. Working with Waylon’s widow, Jessi Colter, and their son, Shooter Jennings, TGen established The Waylon Fund in October 2011. Waylon, who lived much of his storied career in Arizona, died in 2002 at age 64 from complications of diabetes. He Continue reading Waylon Jennings Birthday Bash

2012 CMT Award Highlights

This Is The Highlights From The 2012 CMT Music Awards According To HaleighT! Last night was the 2012 CMT Music Awards. The party was rocking and everyone was ready to celebrate! Many people were awarded including Carrie Underwood who took home two buckles and Jason Aldean who won his very first ever buckle (how is that just happening?). The show went smoothly and there isn’t anything that I could complain about. I am however, finding it very hard to put my finger on one thing that stood out enough to be my favorite. I was beyond happy when Matthew McConaughey showed his face during the opening video, but was shocked that President Obama and Governor Romney also made a cameo. Luke Bryan was a winner and a giver last night. During his performance of “Drunk On You” he gave away his guitar to fan in the audience and when accepting his buckle for Male Video of the Year he shucked some camouflage undies and tossed them to the audience (an act that almost created a cat fight!). The Zac Brown Band performed their brand-new single, “The Wind,” from their upcoming album Uncaged. It was a brilliant performance, they are a talented group of men! The Pistol Annies got there first ever performance on the CMT Music Awards stage out of the way with “Takin’ Pills.” Miranda Lambert, one part of their all girl trio took home the buckle for Female Video of the Year to top off the girls exciting night. Two of the most anticipated performances of the night were Hank Williams Jr. and Brad (Bradcephus) Paisley with “I’m Gonna Get Drunk And Play Hank Williams” and Willie Nelson, Darius Rucker, Toby Keith, Jamey Johnson and Zac Brown with “Roll Me Up And Smoke Me When I Die.” Little Big Town got the crowd ready to hit the lake with “Pontoon” and before getting the biggest buckle of all, Video of the Year, presented to her by the one-and-only Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood rocked “Good Girl!” All in all the show was a complete success! Congratulations to all the winners of the night and also to the nominees! To get the full list of those winners click HERE.
