CMA Awards Afterthoughts

The 45th Annual CMA Awards, Did They Hit Or Miss? Well another year of the CMA Awards is over and done with. To be honest it wasn’t what I was expecting, I guess I had my hopes a little high. I think the winners of the night were a shock to many and the performances as well. With that being said, congrats to all. I’m just going to give a quick rundown of the highlights of my night… I loved Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood’s intro! Every year it supplies me with enough laughs for 3 days! The Tim McGraw and Faith Hill dolls were hilarious and Hank Jr. made an appearance that I’m sure made some people angry, but I found quite comical! Keith Urban’s performance was not what I’m use to from him, but we definitely wouldn’t want him to overdo it with his surgery coming up. I really do love that song of his though, “You Gonna Fly!” Miranda Lambert paid tribute to her “Kerosene” days when she had fire during her performance of “Baggage Claim!” I thoroughly enjoyed Eric Church and Chris Young’s performances with their current singles. BUT…by far the best performance of the night was Martina McBride! Her song, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” is such a touching song that gives me chills each time I hear it. Her voice to go along with the lyrics made it beyond amazing! Each time the camera showed Reba McIntire she looked stunning! She looked like she was really enjoying her evening and very happy for each artist who won. She is such a classy lady and I wished we could have seen more of her! They couldn’t of done a more perfect tribute to Glen Campbell! They picked the right people to honor him and it was so touching. I’m not going to lie…I teared up a little. There were 3 awards that I 100% agreed with and they were Album Of The Year, Male Vocalist and Female Vocalist Of The Year. My Kinda Party has done great things and definitely deserved that recognition! The newlyweds (Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert) both winning for the second year in a row was priceless, both genuinely deserved this award! I sure did miss seeing people like Alan Jackson and George Strait. Were they not there or the camera people just didn’t show them? I’m not sure, but they were greatly missed! Again, congratulations to all the winners and everyone who was involved in the huge event in Nashville!

Craig Morgan On Army Wives

Craig Morgan Has Been Very Busy With The Women Of Army Wives and Rizzoli & Isles! Craig Morgan is no stranger to hard work, being a TV host of his own hunting show, a country music singer and family man, but lately he has kicked it up a notch! Late last week he visited the set of Lifetime’s hit series Army Wives. There he filmed a guest appearance for the show’s sixth season. The episode is set to air in early 2012. A 10-year Army veteran, Morgan also took to the football field in Nashville over the weekend to perform the national anthem. This was for the Tennessee Titans vs. Cincinnati Bengals game for the home team’s Veterans Day celebration. Not only that, Morgan joined Rizzoli & Isles (TNT) star Angie Harmon to shoot the music video for his latest single, “This Ole Boy.” Be looking for that in the coming weeks!

Craig Campbell’s New Single “When I Get It” Released Today! Craig Campbell is excited to release his third single “When I Get It.” The follow up to “Family Man” and “Fish” is a tempo track with light hearted lyrics that describe the relatable financial struggles of the middle class. Joe Nichols’ It’s All Good Album Review

Joe Nichols’ Latest Album Is Classic Country With A Modern Twist! Joe Nichols has his brand new album coming out tomorrow (November 8)! It’s All Good is a fabulous collection of country tunes that I’m certain you are going to enjoy! For those of you who have been concerned with the route country music is taking, complaining that it has become too “pop”, well here is what you have been waiting for! Each track has an element of good-timing classic country with the slightest, yet refreshing touch of modern day flow! My absolute favorite song from this album is “The More I Look“, but I didn’t find one track that I wasn’t fond of! From “She’s Just Like That” to “No truck, No Boat, No Girl” or “How I Wanna Go” to his current single “Take It Off” there is not one part of life that this album doesn’t touch on. Each song in this grouping is perfectly written, with awesome music and a voice that will melt your heart! Joe was kind enough to let fans listen to the entire album this past week for free! There was a portion of the site reserved for comments and not a one had a negative theme! This is definitely a home run and something to be proud of! It’s no surprise, Joe has still got it! Corey Smith At George’s Majestic Lounge

Corey Smith Had Fayetteville Rocking Till They Couldn’t Rock Anymore! This past Friday (November 4) Corey Smith was the headlining act at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
