Blake Shelton Releases Cheers It’s Christmas! Blake Shelton has officially announced that he will be releasing a Christmas album for our 2012 holiday season! In an appropriate turn of events, the title of the album is drink themed: “Cheers It’s Christmas“. The album will include duets with artists like Reba McEntire (not surprising), Michael Buble (a little odd), and Shelton’s mother, Dorothy Shackleford (adorable!). Country music fans can start rocking out to Shelton’s Christmas tunes on October 2nd! You can catch Shelton on E!’s “Chelsea Lately” (tonight!) Tuesday, August 7th!

Shania Twain and CBS Give You The Chance to Renew Your Vows! Shania Twain is apparently very interested in the health of your marriage and would like the opportunity to reward you for sticking with your mate (well, if you have…). Basically, Twain and CBS have partnered up with morning show “The Talk” to offer up the chance for a lucky couple to renew their vows and enjoy an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas! The winners would also receive tickets to Shania Twain’s concert at Ceasar’s palace on December 12th. So…here’s how this works: Couples must be 21 and over. Enter via “The Talk”‘s website. Include a video explaining why your partner is “still the one”. Entries must be submitted by noon September 24th. Winner will be announced October 8th. Garth Brooks Supports Teachers Rock

Garth Brooks Added to “Teachers Rock” Concert! Garth Brooks has been added to a long list of celebrities from musicians to actors who will participate in the “Teachers Rock” concert co-sponsored by Walmart and set to air on CBS. Brooks joins other country singers, Carrie Underwood and Dierks Bentley in the evenings line-up. The concert is intended to highlight and honor teachers across America in their educational efforts. Besides the country music guests, the event will include personal reflections by celebs from pop to rock music, like Adam Levine, Usher and Jack Black and to Hollywood stars like Jennifer Garner and Morgan Freeman…because teachers impact everyone! Additionally, the benefit concert will feature scenes from Walden Media’s upcoming motion picture “Won’t Back Down,” starring Academy Award nominees Viola Davis and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The two actresses portray two determined mothers, one a teacher, who are fighting tirelessly to transform their children’s failing inner-city school. The special will air LIVE right in time for the new school year on Friday, August 17 from the Nokia Theatre in L.A. at 8/7c (8-9 p.m. ET/PT).

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood Host 2012 CMA Awards! As we have grown accustom over the past few years…Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will again be hosting the CMA Awards! This one night includes performances from some of the hottest country stars, tributes to icons, and of course, a salute to all those singers that make our country music world go round. Clearly, the Country Music Association thinks they have a good thing going with Brad and Carrie…So, why rock the boat? Do you remember last year’s awards? Check out our recap! As was clear from the sneak peak Carrie Underwood released for her new music video last week, “Blown Away” tells quite the dramatic tale. Between her usual powerful vocals and the striking visual elements throughout the video, Underwood proves that she is telling more grown up stories than what she has on her previous albums. Going along with what other country stars are doing, like Miranda Lambert on her latest “Fastest Girl In Town“, Carrie and her creative team took the time to tell a whole story, creating a kind of mini-movie. Last night (Monday, July 30th) Gloriana performed LIVE as part of the Summer Beats Concert Series hosted by Pepsi and Billboard in Nashville at the Cannery Ballroom. The concert series is a part of Pepsi’s “Live For Now” global campaign, and the summer concerts kicked off in June and will conclude in NYC in August. LeAnn Rimes Undergoes Oral Surgery

LeAnn Rimes Undergoes Dental Surgery, Shows Canceled. LeAnn Rimes is currently recovering from emergency dental surgery she underwent on July 30th. The country singer had to have an extensive root canal in order to curb pain she had begun experiencing previously. No doubt the pain was impacting her ability to perform. Rimes was forced to cancel shows in both Ohio and Indiana due to the procedure. Always the active Tweeter, LeAnn has communicated with fans via the social forum to apologize for the canceled shows, promising to reschedule at a later date. Unfortunately, the star will have to undergo additional surgery in a few more days.
