Contemporary country singer/songwriter Brad Paisley was born October 28, 1972, in Glen Dale, WV; given his first guitar at age eight, he delivered his first public performance at church two years later. With his 50-something guitar teacher Clarence “Hank” Goddard and two of the older man’s seasoned musician buddies, the teenaged Paisley formed his first band, the C-Notes, and at age 12 started writing his own music. After playing in front of the local Rotary Club, he was invited to appear on Wheeling station WWVA’s famed Saturday night broadcast Jamboree USA. Paisley’s debut was so well received that he was invited to become a part of the program full-time, and in the years to follow he opened for the likes of the Judds, Roy Clark, and Little Jimmy Dickens. He later attended Nashville’s Belmont University, serving an internship with ASCAP; the contacts Paisley made there helped him land a songwriting deal with EMI, and he also appeared on innumerable demos.

Signing to Arista, he put forth his debut solo album, Who Needs Pictures, in 1999. The record produced two chart-topping singles in “He Didn’t Have to Be,” an ode to loving stepfathers, and “We Danced” and also acquired generally positive reviews for its diversity of country styles. In the meantime, Paisley recorded a duet with Chely Wright, “Hard to Be a Husband, Hard to Be a Wife,” for the Backstage at the Grand Ole Opry compilation; the two later joined efforts on several music for Wright’s Never Love You Enough album. The sophomore to Paisley’s debut, Part II, was issued in 2001 and promptly returned him to the Top Five with “Two People Fell in Love.” “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)” gave Paisley his third chart-topper, and “Wrapped Around” fell one spot short of becoming his fourth. “I Wish You’d Stay” became the fourth Top Ten hit from the record in early 2003.

At the beginning of August 2005, Paisley put together a short “director’s commentary” preview of his next album for his fan base to download. The full album, Time Well Wasted, appeared two weeks later and narrowly missed the top of the album charts, though it did hit number one on the country charts. In 2006 Brad Paisley Christmas, a collection of both originals and covers, came out, came by 5th Gear in 2007, which included the ubiquitous “Ticks,” a sure future novelty classic. An record of mostly guitar instrumentals (Paisley’s excellent guitar playing is a big part of his appeal), Play, followed in 2008, with the big country vocal hit “Waitin’ on a Woman” added in as a “bonus” track. By now poised at the very top of the commercial country world, Paisley put forth American Saturday Night in 2009.

The 45th Annual CMA Awards Have Released Commercials! The CMAs are about two weeks away and the commercials have hit television! For the fourth year in a row Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be hosting the event. I don’t know about y’all but I am VERY excited for their always clever opening jokes! Brad Paisley Announces The Camobunga! 2012 World Tour! Brad Paisley recently wrapped up his 2011 Tour, and he is wasting zero time getting back out on the road again! Paisley has officially announced his The Camobunga! 2012 World Tour. This tour is sponsored by Chevy and will kick-off on January 12th in Grand Rapids, MI. See the list below for a complete itinerary of dates and locations! Now, the title of this tour is just a little strange, and luckily, Brad has provided a some information to explain the origin of this name. Apparently, it is the combination of “camouflage” and “cowabunga” (I’m sure you probably figured that out). Please see the complete definition and origin provided by Paisley below! A mind blowing blend of country, fiery 60’s surf guitar acrobatics, futuristic special effects, retro heart and soul, and mind altering liquid beverages. CMT Reveals Their Artists Of The Year. CMT will honor Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley as the top artists of the year. CMT Artists Of The Year will premier December 13 at 9:00pm ET/PT and will last 90 minutes. The honorees were chosen by ranking them based on the following criteria: sales (physical albums, digital albums and single downloads); country radio airplay based on spins; concert grosses as a headliner or co-headliner; and activity on cmt.com (video streams, searches, and artist page views). The rankings were then compiled to identify the leading performers across the four categories cumulatively. Congratulations to the 5 acts that will be celebrated in early December! Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will Perform Remind Me at CMA Awards! The November 9th, 2011 CMA Awards show will officially mark the first live performance of Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood‘s duet Remind Me! So, this is turning out to be quite a busy night for both Paisley and Underwood! In addition to this performance, don’t forget that the pair are reprising last year’s role as hosts for the award show. Also, Paisley has been nominated in a total of five categories and Carrie is nominated for the female vocalist category! I hope they both get plenty of rest the night before the show! CMA Announces First Performers

First Round of Performers for 2011 CMA Awards Announced! The 45th Annual CMA Awards are quickly approaching, and there is much chatter all over the industry about all the details from nominations to possible performances to this year’s hosts! We heard weeks ago that Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be reprising their roles of host from the 2010 CMA Awards, and the nominations for all twelve categories were announced just a week or so ago. (Click here to see more on the nominations!) Now, slowly but surely, the list of performers anticipated for the show are starting to be announced as well. We just got news of the first round of performances confirmed, and I do not think you will be disappointed! All five of the artists nominated in the “Entertainer of the Year” category, and this includes Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban. Also of note, four of the nominees, basically everyone except Keith Urban, all earned five nominations this year! The 2011 CMA Awards will take place on November 9th, and air on ABC at 8PM ET. Tickets for the 45th Annual CMA Awards go on sale on Saturday, September 24th at 10:00AM CT.

Brad Paisley Releases First Book, Diary of a Player. Having secured a place for himself in the world of country music, Brad Paisley is venturing into another media realm, book publishing. Paisley has agreed to his first major book deal with Howard Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster! His book is titled Diary of a Player and is co-written by David Wild, a contributing editor to Rolling Stone. The narrative is a tribute to the guitar greats from country, blues and rock&roll who have influenced Brad in his life and his music. “It is a love letter to the guitar. The book pays homage to an instrument that Paisley realized was his only real constant no matter how he changed and evolved.” – Howard Books vice president and publisher, Jonathan Merkh This “love letter” emphasizes Paisley’s respect for and relationship with music, especially through his guitar playing. “There are some people who drink, who seek counseling, eat, or watch TV, cry, sleep, and so on. From hosting award shows to creating an amazing song together, they can do it all! “Remind Me” is a beautiful song and the third successful single from Paisley’s latest album “This Is Country Music” released earlier this summer. The video is very simple, having Paisley and Underwood walking toward each other in a desert. Brad does what he does best, plays the guitar so very well, and Carrie sings her heart out in a killer dress and some amazing shoes! Brad Paisley Kicks Off His 2011 Tour This Weekend! One of the best things about summer time in the world of country music is that everyone goes on tour, and there are limitless opportunities for a good party! Brad Paisley‘s wild and exciting tour H2O II: Wetter & Wilder World Tour presented by Chevy is a perfect example. Back by popular demand, this is the follow up to last year’s similarly themed concert extravaganza. The much anticipated tour will kick off this weekend in Virginia Beach, VA on June 3rd followed by Hartford, CT on June 4th. Special guests on the main stage include Blake Shelton and Jerrod Niemann. The tour is bringing back the very popular and fan favorite “Water World Plaza,” turning every city into a water festival. The primary focal point in the Plaza will be the “Water World Plaza Stage” featuring new and rising country stars Edens Edge, Sunny Sweeney and Brett Eldredge and the JaneDear Girls alternating show dates. Adding even more fun, there will be multiple water-themed activities – including a Chevy H2O FLW fishing simulator, dunking booth, slip n slide, and other various water games. All said and done, the tour will cover 30 cities including four stadiums and an international leg covering London’s O2 Arena, Dublin, Stockholm, Oslo and more.
