Diamond Rio and Charlie Daniels Band to Headline September Landfest Festival in Georgia

With the hope of giving fans something to look forward to amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Dailey & Vincent and the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds have announced today the full Artist lineup for their annual LandFest In The Mountains & On The Lakes music festival, presented by Springer Mountain Farms and celebrating the best of American music. The festival, which will return to Hiawassee, Ga. September 17-19, will be adapting to the “new normal” amidst health concerns – and the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds has guaranteed that it will refund all ticket buyers if the festival is unable to take place due to any government-mandated orders.

“The wellness of our fans is of paramount importance to us,” Dailey & Vincent said in a joint statement. “These times are trying times – we’re excited to give fans a ‘light at the end of the tunnel,’ while still taking care to prioritize their health and safety.”

This year’s festival will feature performances by the GRAMMY®-nominated group, along with headliners Charlie Daniels, Diamond Rio, Jimmy Fortune of the Statler Brothers, Dailey & Vincent, and a special 2-hour Salute to the Grand Ole Opry featuring Opry Stars Bill Anderson, Jeannie Seely, Dailey & Vincent, comedian Karen Mills, and hosted by the iconic and legendary Eddie Stubs. The lineup is rounded out by the Booth Brothers, Bradley Walker, Mike Snider, the Gibson Brothers, the Malpass Brothers, and the winner of Dailey & Vincent’s annual LandFest Online Band Contest will also join the lineup.

Each year, Dailey & Vincent curate the festival lineup in much the same way they’ve developed their career over the last decade; delivering music fans an evolved combination of “the best of bluegrass, country and gospel this side of heaven” (USA Today), what the band defines as American Music. Their unique marriage of genres has made them three-time GRAMMY® nominees in country, bluegrass, and for a gospel record, earned them membership with the prestigious Grand Ole Opry, garnered nine #1 country, bluegrass and gospel Billboard charting records, and helped launch their national weekly television series The Dailey & Vincent Show, now in its fourth year on RFD-TV.

Charlie Daniels To Release New Version Of “Ragged Old Flag” On July 4th

Few musical performers epitomize the American spirit with more passion and fervor than Country Music Hall of Fame member Charlie Daniels. The singer, who has sung of his unabashed patriotism time in and time out during his career, is showcasing his love of the Red, White, and Blue once again in his latest recording that will be available for sale digitally on July 4th via iTunes, Amazon, Google Play among other digital platforms. Daniels has recorded a stirring version of the Johnny Cash standard “Ragged Old Flag.” Written and recorded by “The Man In Black,” the song hit No. 31 on the Billboard Country Singles chart in 1974. The song still garners airplay during the summer months on Classic Country stations nationwide, particularly around the Fourth of July. Recording this song allowed Charlie to combine two of his biggest passions – his country and his love of Johnny Cash. Charlie is joined on this track by Mark “Oz” Geist, Benghazi Warrior/Survivor and co-author of “13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi.” “These lyrics are just as timely today as they were when Johnny originally recorded them over four decades ago,” said the Grand Ole Opry star. “The song demonstrates the passion and the love that we all should have for this country – and the freedoms that we enjoy with it,” he said. “Of course, it is always a joy to record a song written by the great Johnny Cash. He was an American original, and someone that I consider myself humbled and honored to call friend. Good songs, such as his, continue to remain in style.” Having just turned 80 last fall – just a few weeks after his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Daniels is not slowing down in the slightest. He continues to tour across the country, and will release a new book, Never Look At The Empty Seats on October 24. The book will document his legendary career, as well as several of his many trips abroad in support of the United States Military.

The Journey Home Project Donates $100,000 To Nashville VeteransVirtual Welcome Center Through Nashville Serving Veterans And OperationStand Down

Representatives from Nashville Serving Veterans Community Board, Operation Stand Down and DevDigital with Charlie Daniels 501(c)3 Non-Profit Co-founded by Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Daniels Funds Multiple Projects and Gives Back to Those Who Served The Journey Home Project, co-founded by Charlie Daniels, presented a check for $100,000 to Operation Stand Down Tennessee on behalf of Nashville Serving Veterans Community Board. The gift will be used to staff the Nashville Serving Veterans Community Board’s Virtual Welcome Center in partnership with Operation Stand Down Tennessee. DevDigital, a local full service digital development firm that specializes in custom web development, enterprise and mobile application development, and web hosting will provide the design and hosting of the site at no cost. “The true measure of growth in supporting our military community, is when like-minded Americans realize a need, and then take action. Charlie, along with DevDigital, Lt. General Keith Huber, Operation Stand Down and the board of The Journey Home Project are joining forces to create a Nashville resource center that will serve our military families in the way they so deserve. We are experiencing the incredible success of a center such as this at the Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center on the MTSU campus. I feel honored to be a part of this amazing process,” said David Corlew, co-founder of The Journey Home Project and Daniels’ manager. Nashville-based 501(c)3 non-profit, The Journey Home Project, made 2016 a record year of giving with hundreds of thousands of dollars pledged to various initiatives. The organization, co-founded by newly inducted Country Music Hall of Fame member Charlie Daniels and manager and music industry veteran David Corlew with Ed Hardy, Joe Longever and Mercedez Longever, was founded to make a difference in the lives of American veterans by helping to meet their education, healthcare and employment needs. Highlights of the year included donating $50,000 to Shepherd’s Men as part of their 1,400-mile run from Boston to Atlanta to benefit the SHARE Military Initiative at Atlanta’s Shepherd Center. After donating over $100,000 to Middle Tennessee State University to create their Veterans and Military Family Center which opened in April, the center was named in honor of Daniels’ and his wife Hazel earlier this year. The 2,600-square-foot, $329,000 center is a one-stop-shop for MTSU’s approximately 1,000 student veterans and family members. At an event in October prior to a Tennessee Titan’s game called Tailgate for a Cause, The Journey Home Project presented a check to the organization A Soldier’s Child. ASC provides children of fallen military personnel who have given their lives in service to our country a birthday gift each year until they are 18. They offer multiple mentorship programs as well as scholarships to their members. Presently, over 2,500 children are enrolled in the program. These funds are made possible through the charitable giving of individual donors throughout the year as well as major fundraising events including an annual gala at The Palm Restaurant in Downtown Nashville. Since 1974, Daniels has commissioned his musical friends and peers to come together on a “volunteer” basis to hang out, “jam” together, and entertain crowds in an unconventional, laid-back fashion unknown to any other concert event — all while dedicating concert proceeds to worthy causes. This year’s event featured extra special “jam” sessions with some of Charlie’s most prolific friends who celebrated the Country Music Hall of Famer, his birthday, and his many accomplishments. A portion of the proceeds from the night went to the The Journey Home Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit co-founded by Daniels and manager, David Corlew, to help Veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
