Colt Ford Gets Surprised By Fellow Musicians

Colt Ford Was Surprised With A Plaque By Some Of His Musical Friends. The First Annual Colt Ford & Friends Celebrity Golf Classic was held just outside of Atlanta, GA this past weekend. The charity was put on in support of St. Jude and many came out to do their part. After a day of golfing Colt Ford hit the stage, but during his performance he was surprised. Jake Owen, Darius Rucker, Justin Moore, John Anderson, John Michael Montgomery and Ken Block of Sister Hazel came out with a No. 1 Plaque commemorating his fourth studio album, Declaration of Independence. The album that reached the top of the Billboard Albums chart, was released on August 7 and is the highest debut for Ford. Others that joined in the festivities, but aren’t pictured below were PGA stars Stewart Cink and Boo Weekley, NFL alumni Corey Miller, Atlanta Falcon Matt Bryant, NASCAR Driver David Ragan and more. On August 16, at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, MO, Colt Ford and his good buddy Jake Owen gave their fans a special treat performing “Back,” together for the first time. The new single, with Owen singing the poignant chorus on the track, can be found on Ford’s No.1 charting fourth studio album, Declaration of Independence. “Back” with Owen has reached over 100k digital downloads and has climbed into the Top 50 on the Mediabase charts. Colt Ford’s Latest Collection Of Country Songs With A Twist! Colt Ford has been very excited to release his latest album, Declaration of Independence, for some time. He personally told me how proud of this project he is and now it is out for all of his fans to enjoy! (Check out Colt’s interview with CMNB now!) This album has 15 tracks and some of the greatest voices in country music lent their talents and time to their good friend Colt. Jason Aldean, Jake Owen, Kix Brooks and Darius Rucker, along with Laura Bell Bundy (the only female on the album) are just a small portion. “Back,” Colt’s current single with Owen, is already hitting home with country fans all over. The true story and music video (watch it now!), featuring Colt’s real family, is so visually telling and honest, that you have to thank the successful song-writer for inviting us into his life. “Answer To No One” is the first track and sets the tone for the album. Colt puts it out there for everyone to see, he is what he is and it’s not changing anytime soon! “All In” is a good one to play before a good night with friends! Whether you’re going out or having a party at the house, this song is sure to get you pumped up for a rowdy time! “Way Too Early” is another of my favorites on this album. The lyrics are very relatable and it has a pretty fiddle part! Colt goes solo in “50/50” and defends his country roots and clears up any stereotypes the “city boys” might have about folks like him. Colt might have a lot of people saying he isn’t “country” because the style in which he offers his music to the world. Well…I’m here to tell you just because he isn’t belting a ballad like John Michael Montgomery, who coincidentally has a song with Colt (“Ride Through the Country“), doesn’t mean he isn’t “country.” Listen to the man’s lyrics and you will be singing a different tune! “This is for everybody out there, Circling the town square, Proud to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Colt Ford Appeared On TruTV’s Hit Series, Lizard Lick Towing. Last night Colt Ford appeared on an all new episode of truTV’s hit series “Lizard Lick Towing.” In the episode, Ron plays a joke on Bobby involving his favorite country star, Colt. Lizard Lick Towing is one of the networks most popular shows and is named after the Shirley’s North Carolina towing and repo company. The series follows the Shirleys as the repossess vehicles and machinery on behalf of lien holders. Ron is the hulking, owner of the company and along with his friend, Bobby, they take on the difficult task of tracking down and repossessing property. Ron’s wife, Amy, who is a former champion power lifter, works in the main office. Catch all new episodes of the show on Mondays at 10/9c.

The song features Jake Owen and is the lead single from Ford’s upcoming album, Declaration of Independence, which is due in stores August 7. “Back” was filmed in Ford’s hometown of Athens, GA and was directed by Team Genius Films’ Potsy Ponciroli. The video was produced by Shannon Houchins and is literal to the lyrics, complete with Ford’s family making their video debut. “The song is so close to my heart. It’s my life and wanted to keep it real by having my whole family in the video. I am proud of the song and the visual we created. We went ‘back’ home and captured images from my mom’s house, the baseball field and roller rink I wrote about in the song. It’s a true representation of what this song is about and the visual portrays the sentiment perfectly.” -Ford “Back,” which was co-written by Ford, Shannon Houchins and Noah Gordan, was recently released to country radio and has sold over 30,000 digital downloads in less than three weeks.
