Garth Brooks The Dance, JT Hodges Cover

Garth Brooks’ The Dance Gets A Little Love From JT Hodges. JT Hodges has taken on the Garth Brooks classic, “The Dance“. He did this special recording just for Valentine’s Day as a kind of Valentine to all his fans. I know, we’re getting this up a day late, but it’s better late than never, right? Besides this song is a classic, and its worth taking a listen any ole day! Additionally, Hodges has released another single, “Goodbyes Made You Mine“, and it’s currently available on iTunes. This track has that kind of rock undertone that you can find in his other songs, but it still maintains an almost sweet sentiment. One of the things I really like about JT is the genuine quality in his voice, that gives an original feel to his music that you don’t get from a lot of singers. So, watch the video below, and then go check out his new single! As always, tell us what ya think! JT Hodges rendition of “The Dance“. Kenny Rogers Takes Capital Records to Court

Kenny Rogers Is Suing Label Capital Records! Just when we thought the legal shenanigans in Nashville were calming down, another lawsuit hits the fan. This time its Kenny Rogers suing the label, Capital Records. Reportedly, Rogers claims that the label is in break on contract for underpaying royalties to the singer. These royalties apply to the selling digital downloads and ringtones. Apparently, there is some small print dictating how the profit from these things is split between label and artist, and Kenny thinks things are being shared fairly to the tune of an underpayment of over $400,000! That’s quite a chunk of change! The court date is set for May 21st. What do you think about all this? Its hard to say really with such few details, and without a law degree, but let us know what you think anyway!

Carters Chord Sh*t Country Singers Say

Carter Chords Jumps On The Bandwagon with “Sh*t Country Singers Say”. It really was only a matter of time before someone…anyone in the country music community jumped on the “Sh*t _______ Say” bandwagon. I suppose I am just a little surprised it took quite this long. By now this particular bandwagon is a little broken down…maybe missing a wheel or two, but it just keeps on hobbling down its YouTube road. You have probably seen one of the twenty million spin-offs of this particular trend, and if you haven’t, welcome to one of the Internet’s deepest, darkest black holes. This video comes from the all girl trio Carter’s Chord, and is their own humorous ode to other country music singers and songwriters. Please note: they are careful to include themselves in the camp being poked fun at. So, they’re laughing with everyone not at them. Take a look below. Can you catch the references? Jana Kramer Why Ya Wanna Video

Watch Jana Kramer’s Debut Music Video for “Why Ya Wanna”. If you’re a fan of the CW’s “One Tree Hill“, then you’re probably already familiar with Jana Kramer. If not, then this might be the first you’ve heard of this new country singer. The Michigan native has firmly established herself in Hollywood, but is now pursuing her true passion, singing…country-style. She just debuted her video for latest single, “Why Ya Wanna“, and you can check it out below. The song while not really dealing with ground-breaking themes, is surprisingly genuine. Kramer boasts a fair amount of potential, and I think this is one new singer we should be keeping an eye on! Watch the below and see if you agree. Check Out Jana Kramer’s “Why Ya Wanna” Now! Sugarland Run Video

Check Out The Video for Sugarland’s “Run”. I don’t know if you had a chance to catch the live performance of Sugarland‘s “Run” featuring Matt Nathanson at last year’s CMA Awards…but if you didn’t, you missed out. It was one of the best performances of the night. Well, it was one of my favorites at least! There is just something about the lyrics in this song and the way Jennifer Nettles and Nathanson perform this duet together that is absolutely irresistible! In case you did miss the CMA performance, or you haven’t had the opportunity to catch Sugarland live, they have released the video for “Run” for fans to enjoy! It features live concert footage which I think helps emphasize the rawness of the song. Watch it below, and let us know what you think! Sugarland’s “Run” featuring Matt Nathanson. Country Grammy Winners 2012

Complete List Of Country Wins at 2012 Grammy Awards! Another awards show has come and gone! The 2012 Grammy Awards provided quite a bit of visual interest from what was being worn on the red carpet to the strange sightings of who was sitting next to whom (we took special note of a photo featuring Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert seated next to Lady Gaga). There were a couple good performances, but nothing really surprising going on as far as winners are concerned. Taylor Swift dominated the country categories, and The Civil Wars received quite a bit of attention as well. I really wanted Zac Brown Band to win for “Where The River Goes” (From Footloose) in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category, but no such luck. Also, we were pretty excited about The Band Perry’s New Artist nomination, but they were passed up by another artist. Oh well, we know how amazing they all are! You can see the complete list of Country, Folk, Bluegrass and Americana winners below. Be sure to let us know what you think about this year’s winners!
