Freemont Street Line-up 2012

Complete Line-up of Performers for 2012 Freemont Street Experience. The ACM Awards take place in Las Vegas, and so we wouldn’t really expect them to do things small, now would we? Of course not, and appropriately the lead up to the ACM Awards on Sunday, April 1st is two nights of free concerts that has come to be know as the Freemont Street Experience! It was previously announced that Luke Bryan would be headlining the Friday, March 30th concert with Eric Church headlining the Saturday, March 21st concert, and now we know who is joining who and when! The ACM New Artist of the Year nominees, Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes and Scotty McCreery will be taking center stage on Friday night while Craig Campbell, Eli Young Band, Laura Bell Bundy and Jana Kramer take the stage Saturday night! Its sure to be one heck of an event, and I envy the lucky who folks who get to check it out!

Taylor Swift Invites Teen to ACM Awards

Taylor Swift Has Got Herself a Date to the ACM Awards. Taylor Swift has invited fan, Kevin McGuire, to attend the ACM Awards with her! Kevin is an 18yr old from Somerdale, NJ, who is suffering from leukemia. Swift’s invite comes in response to the Facebook campaign created by McGuire’s sister. The teen hoped that Taylor would attend his prom with him, but in a post written by Swift, she stated that she couldn’t make it to the prom. I think an invite to the ACM Awards in Vegas could just as easily lead to a night Kevin would cherish! Regardless of whether or not you’re a fan of her music, you can’t deny that it takes a generous and cool person to invite a fan to an industry award show. 2012 ACM New Artists Finalists

2012 ACM New Artists of the Year Finalists Announced. The Academy of Country Music announced the nominees for the 2012 ACM Awards just a couple weeks ago (check out the complete list here), but they left one important category out, the New Artists of the Year! They left the category open so that fans could vote for the artists they wanted to be finalists, and its officially been narrowed down to three country newbies. Our three finalists are Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes and Scotty McCreery! Fans will be able to keep voting for the final finalist starting Monday, March 19th at noon. Voting will remain open until Sunday, April 1st at 5pm, pretty right up until the show starts! You can click here to vote. Chris Young Donates To MTSU

Chris Young Donates Equipment to Alma Mater. Chris Young recently donated sound equipment to MTSU, the country singer’s alma mater! He and his crew had some equipment, including cables, soundboards, etc., that they simply weren’t using anymore. So, Young decided to recycle it by giving it to the department of production. “Our staff, which includes more than 100 students, will greatly benefit,” Craig Doman, MTSU Director of Production Services The equipment will be utilized for lighting, video and staging for both on and off campus events. It’s great to see a successful musician giving back and supporting his roots! Young was recently nominated for 2 ACM Awards, Single Record of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. 2012 ACM Nominees Announcement Planned

The 2012 ACM Awards Announcement Proceedings Planned and Ready To Go! Well, to announce the Grammy nominations they held an entire concert, but the ACM Awards are going to be keeping it a little more low key than that. Organizers have planned a digital press conference to take place via social media Thursday, January 26th starting at 6:30am (PT). All categories will be announced in real time to fans and the media at the same time (what a novel idea!). Reba McEntire (who is hosting the awards show alongside Blake Shelton) will be participating in events leading up to the conference. Luke Bryan and Eric Church ACM Performance 2012

Luke Bryan and Eric Church 2012 ACM Weekend On Fremont Street Experience. Luke Bryan and Eric Church will be participating in “The Week Vegas Goes Country” otherwise known as the week leading up to the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The two will be headlining performances as part of the Fremont Street Experience with Luke Bryan heading the concert on Friday, March 30th and Eric Church taking over Saturday, March 31st. This is the 6th consecutive year that these free and open-to-the-public concerts will be held in five-block entertainment zone in downtown Vegas know as the Fremont Street Experience. Luke Bryan and Eric Church both put on one heck of show, and I can’t even imagine how rowdy it will get with both them in Vegas! The 2012 ACM Awards will broadcast live out of Vegas on Sunday, April 1st at 8pm ET on CBS. This year’s festivities will again be hosted by Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire.

Who Is JT Hodges?

Well, He’s Nominated For A New Artist ACM… JT Hodges is new on the country music scene, and you may or may not have heard of him so far. He recently signed with Show Dog-Universal and released a debut his debut single, “Hunt You Down“, Summer 2011. It would seem this new guy is rising fast though because he has already been nominated for a New Artist ACM! In an effort to garner those much needed fan votes, Hodges and his team have released a quirky video to get a little attention. It’s funny, but I think JT might not want to depend on acting as a back-up career. I doubt he would need it though, because his debut single definitely suggests this guys got some talent! Fan Voting For ACM New Artist of the Year Open. The ACM Awards are quickly approaching, and fan voting for the New Artist of the Year category. The group of nominees has been narrowed down to 8 semi-finalist, and you’re needed to help narrow it down to the final 3. Voting is open now, and you can vote once per day until 12pm ET on January 30th. The final three nominees will be announced in February. The 47th Annual ACM Awards will air live on CBS on April 1st!
