Americana rock and roller, John Cougar Mellencamp, proves touring is not just a young man’s game. John Cougar Mellencamp is showing the industry kids a thing or two about hard work as he barrels through city after city on his “No Better Than” tour this fall. Now sure, he’s not exactly country, but the country and rock genres have overlapped so much that you could almost hear his hits “Jack and Diane” and “Hurts So Good” on your local country stations couldn’t you? Anyhow, those are just my thoughts.

Luke Bryan CMT On Tour Dates

Dates Announced for 2011 CMT On Tour Headlined By Luke Bryan. Earlier this summer it was announced Luke Bryan would be headlining the 2011 CMT On Tour, and the dates for this special concert series have finally been announced! The tour kicks off September 15th in Huntington, West Virginia at Big Sandy Superstore Arena, will include a grand total of 22 shows, and will run through November 19th in Monroe, Louisiana. Bryan will be joined on tour by Lee Brice, Josh Thompson, and CMT’s Next Superstar winner Matt Mason. This year will mark the 10th consecutive year CMT has sponsored this tour. Tickets will officially go on sale August, 12th!

Troy & Sons Distillers Presents Matt Stillwell’s Shinefest 2011! This year’s Shinefest 2011 will take place August 19-21 (Friday-Sunday) in Western North Carolina. Matt Stillwell’s annual festival is being presented by Troy & Sons Distillers and will be held at the Fontana Village Resort in the Smokey Mountains. Some of Nashville’s best songwriter will take the stage along with Stillwell, Blackberry Smoke, Black Lillies, Jim Lauderdale, and more. “My vision for the festival is to showcase some of the greatest songwriters in Nashville, the creative people behind my career, local and upcoming bands as well as all the musical styles that have influenced me. Trace Adkins Included in Already Packed Line-Up for CMA Music Festival TV Special. Trace Adkins has joined the line-up of star-studded performances for the 2011 CMA Music Festival TV special, CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock. The special airs on August 14th(shifted from its original air date of August 7th) on ABC at 8pm(ET). As previously reported, the musical television event will feature footage from the 2011 Festival at LP Field in Nashville, TN as well as a performance line-up including Lauren Alaina, Jason Aldean, Sara Evans, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Scotty McCreery, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Reba, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Zac Brown, Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town, and now Trace Adkins. This television special allows fans the opportunity to enjoy the iconic CMA Music Festival from the comfort of their home (and air conditioning!), but for those die-hard fans who have to be in the thick of the action, tickets for the 2012 CMA Music Festival are already on sale! RiverStomp Music Festival Details

Second Annual RiverStomp Music Festival in Watts, OK! The Second Annual RiverStomp Music Festival in Watts, OK is fast approaching scheduled for September 29th-October 2nd! The concert event is hosted by The Redneck Yacht Club and will feature a lengthy line-up of live music (see below for a complete list of performers), camping, swimming, fishing and plenty of other activities as well! The music will run all day and well into the night while participants have the opportunity to float on the mile of river available on the property (participants can choose from canoes, rafts or kayaks for use on the river!), grab a snack from food vendors or check out the fire dancers who will be making an appearance! Tickets are available to purchase in person in Fayetteville, AR at Sound Warehouse on the square and The Glass Station on College for $35. You may also purchase tickets in person in Siloam Springs at High Spirits Liqour and Movie Time! Tickets bought in Siloam Springs will be available for a “hometown special” ticket price of only $25. You may additionally purchase tickets online for $35 by clicking here. If all else fails, you can purchase tickets at the gate for $50. Camping is optional at $5 a night per person and available on a first come first serve basis. There is a mile of riverfront camping which will no doubt be claimed fast! Those who choose to bring a motorcycle will be charged $20 per person at the gate, and only street legal “street” bikes are allowed which excludes enduro’s and dirt bikes. 2012 CMA Music Fest Tickets On Sale

2012 CMA Music Fest Tickets Go On Sale This Week! The 2011 CMA Music Festival may have just wrapped up in June, but event organizers are already in full swing getting ready for next year’s country music concert event! The 2012 CMA Music Festival is scheduled for June 7th through 10th at Nashville’s LP Field, and tickets will officially go on sale Saturday, July 30th at 10am (central). The concert event includes four nights of all-star shows at LP Field in addition to four days of daily concerts at the Riverfront Park. During the week of the festival there are also many, many events, signings, and additional musical performances for fans to participate in and enjoy! The past two years of the CMA Fest (formerly known to country music fans as Fan Fair) have completely sold out! So, if you are planning to attend next year’s event, you may want to go ahead and secure your tickets early! Stay tuned for news and details on the concert and event line-ups. LeAnn Rimes Headlines ACM Benefit

LeAnn Rimes To Headline ACM Lifting Lives Concert. LeAnn Rimes is set to headline ACM’s first Lifting Lives Concert. The benefit will be held at Joe’s Bar in Chicago, IL, winner of the Academy of Country Music Nightclub of the Year Award. The venue has chosen to underwrite the cost of the event so that one-hundred percent of ticket sales can go to the charitable cause. The concert is scheduled for August 15th and will start at 7:30pm. ACM Lifting Lives is the charity associated with the Academy of Country Music with the mission of improving lives through the power of music. Every year, ACM Lifting Lives provides grants to music therapy and music education programs in addition to serving members of the country music community who face unexpected medical or financial hardship. Tickets for general admission are $25 and include appetizers and an open bar. VIP tickets run for $95 and include a premiere viewing area for the concert and a VIP reception to meet and greet the artist. Crystal Bowersox will also be performing in addition to Rimes.

Country’s Night to Rock Postponed One Week from Original Date. The CMA Music Festival television special,CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock, has been rescheduled. The 3-hour show was originally set to air on Sunday, August 7th, but is now slated for exactly one week later, Sunday, August 14th. CMA representatives indicate it is just a simple schedule change, but it is speculated that the network probably did not want to have to compete with the Teen Choice Awards which are scheduled to air live on August 7th. Either way, fans still get the show, and that’s what matters. The show will remain as previously announced including footage from this year’s CMA Music Festival in Nashville and live performances from some of country’s hottest stars. Performers include Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean collaborating with Kelly Clarkson, Dierks Bentley, Josh Turner with American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, Idol runner up Lauren Alaina joining Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson with Big & Rich, Little Big Town, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow, Alan Jackson performing with Zac Brown Band, The Band Perry, Sara Evans, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Reba, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban. So, don’t miss out on CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock on its new night, Sunday, August 14th at 8pm on ABC.

Dierks Bentley and Little Big Town Will Perform on TV Special of the CMA Music Festival Dierks Bentley and Little Big Town have been added to the performance line-up of the 2011 CMA Music Festival TV Special, better known as “Country’s Night to Rock!“.
