Brad Paisley 2012 Camobunga Tour

Brad Paisley Announces The Camobunga! 2012 World Tour! Brad Paisley recently wrapped up his 2011 Tour, and he is wasting zero time getting back out on the road again! Paisley has officially announced his The Camobunga! 2012 World Tour. This tour is sponsored by Chevy and will kick-off on January 12th in Grand Rapids, MI. See the list below for a complete itinerary of dates and locations! Now, the title of this tour is just a little strange, and luckily, Brad has provided a some information to explain the origin of this name. Apparently, it is the combination of “camouflage” and “cowabunga” (I’m sure you probably figured that out). Please see the complete definition and origin provided by Paisley below! Definition Camobunga :n; : //kam,bunga/ – The name of a live musical tour experience. A mind blowing blend of country, fiery 60’s surf guitar acrobatics, futuristic special effects, retro heart and soul, and mind altering liquid beverages. The spirit of the deep woods meets the breakneck excitement of the California coast. Origin camouflage – N: /kamfläZH/ -fabric w/ splotches of green, brown, black & tan, meant to make the wearer of this pattern hard to distinguish from the background;(or possibly stand out as a redneck). cowabunga (exclamation): Originated as a greeting by Chief Thunderthud on the 50’s cowboy puppet tv program “The Howdy Doody Show”, was later adopted by surfers in the 60’s. Paisley will be joined on tour by The Band Perry and Scotty McCreery. 2012 Tour Dates (so far) January 12 Grand Rapids, MI Van Andel Arena January 13 Milwaukee, WI Bradley Center January 14 St. Paul, MN Xcel Energy Center January 19 Kansas City, MO Sprint Center January 20 Wichita, KS Intrust Bank Arena January 21 Denver, CO Pepsi Center January 26 Boise, ID Idaho Center January 27 Salt Lake City, UT Maverik Center January 28 Las Vegas,NV Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino February 9 Spokane, WA Spokane Arena February 10 Eugene, OR Matthew KnightArena February 11 Tacoma, WA Tacoma Dome February 16 Lubbock, TX United Spirit Arena February 17 Las Cruces, NM Pan AmericaCenter February 23 Madison, WI Alliant Energy Center February 24 Moline, IL iWireless Center February 25 Springfield, MO JQH Arena March 1 Baltimore, MD 1st Mariner Arena March 2 Knoxville, TN Thompson-Boling Arena March 3 Lexington, KY Rupp Arena

Alan Jackson Joins Hall of Fame

Alan Jackson Inducted Into Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. On Sunday, October 11th, 2011, Alan Jackson was officially inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame at the 41st Anniversary Dinner and Induction Ceremony. The ceremony was held at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel in Downtown Nashville, and Jackson was inducted by Capitol Records Nashville President and CEO and long-time friend Mike Dungan. In true down to earth form, Jackson shared some insight into his personal writing inspirations. “Denise and I packed up a U-haul and moved to Nashville and I didn’t know a publisher from a producer. I was stupid enough not to be scared. I have written songs about the ups and downs of married life, songs for the working man, a song about when my daddy died, when my first child left home – I just write whatever I feel. I never wrote a song to get a Grammy or Country Music Award. All of these things are just life and that is what country music has always been to me.” -Alan Jackson As a tribute to Jackson and his achievements, Taylor Swift and The Wrights performed some of his hits. Swift took on “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” (which Jackson just performed live in Washington D.C. on the anniversary of September 11th). The Wrights performed a medley including “Good Time,” “Remember When,” “Chattahoochee,” “Don’t Rock The Jukebox” and “Here In The Real World.” Jackson has written or co-written 24 of his 35 #1 hits. Well done and congrats Alan Jackson!!

Jamey Johnson At Billy Bob’s

Jamey Johnson Gives An Incredible Show To Fans At The World’s Largest Honky Tonk! Jamey Johnson was the main event last Saturday, October 15 at the Texas sized venue, Billy Bob’s! The very talented singer/songwriter was completely immersed in his performance, as were his fans! I traveled to Ft. Worth specifically for this show and let me tell you, it was well worth the bumpy ride on US West 82! When I first arrived to the infamous Stockyards, this huge feeling of joy immediately came over me. If you haven’t ever been to this Lone Star playground you should definitely look into it! Billy Bob’s alone is a magical place with so much to do. The show didn’t begin until 10:30pm so I was able to get my fair share of people watching in for the evening. Not wanting to miss one strum on that famous autographed guitar, I made sure to find my seat in PLENTY of time! Johnson started the night with “High Cost of Living” and ended it with Hank Williams Sr.’s “I Saw The Light!” In between were his originals “The Guitar Song“, “The Door Is Always Open“, “Playing The Part“, “That Lonesome Song“, “Give It Away” (recorded by George Strait), “Mowin’ Down The Roses“, “Lonely At the Top“, “Dog In the Yard“, and “In Color” along with some others! Other songs that were played were “Keep your Hands To Yourself“, “La Grange“, “Georgia” and “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way.” One song in particular that was ended with a standing ovation by fans was “Turn The Page“, the multi-genre classic was accompanied by such soul from Johnson. However this was true for every note he sang that night, there is no denying that the man has a one of a kind voice! I will take it upon myself to speak for everyone who was there that night in saying it was a spectacular performance that compared to no other! I’m not sure if it was the sound of his voice or the echoes of the cowboys hollering praises, but I found myself with chills on many occasions. Jamey Johnson has a wonderful array of fans that are very welcoming! I highly suggest you catch a Johnson performance in the NEAR future and become one of these fine people! You are sure to have a good time, while hearing some great music!!! You can purchase any of Johnson’s three studio albums at this time, with the most recent being The Guitar Song.
