Garth Brooks Covers – Box Set Coming November 19th

That Garth Brooks sure has been making a lot of noise in the press lately! In the latest news from The Music Universe Garth Brooks is is releasing a four-disc box set of the music that shaped him. Brooks revealed the new project at the tail end of a GAC special Saturday. Called Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences, the set will separate those influences into stylistically themed discs titled Country Classics, Classic Rock, Blue-Eyed Soul and Melting Pot, according to The Music Universe. The set will include covers of Jerry Lee Lewis’ Great Balls of Fire and Marvin Gaye’s I Heard It Through the Grapevine, Cat Stevens’ Wild World and Simon & Garfunkel’s Mrs. Robinson, along with songs made famous by James Taylor, Gladys Knight. Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood, will appear on the project and duet with him on a remake of Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn’s 1971 hit After the Fire Is Gone. The collection will be available exclusively through Walmart beginning Nov. 19, and this news comes right on the heels of the announcement that there officially will be a Garth Brooks Tour in 2014.

Dance Club Community Reacts To Travis Tritt’s “High Time For Gettin’ Down” (October 29, 2013 – Nashville, Tenn.) – Nashville-based venue marketing company, Marco Club Connection, has released Travis Tritt’s high-energy song, “High Time For Gettin’ Down” to country dance clubs across the United States. Released to nearly 240 venues and dance instructors across the country, the song has already proven to be a success with DJs adding the song into rotation on their playlists and instructors taking the dance to educate venue patrons on how to ‘get down’ to “High Time For Gettin’ Down.” The track has inspired choreographers and dance instructors to create line dances, including one by choregrapher Donna Manning, which can be seen here. Dance sheets for the song are currently being produced and will be made available available for fans to download at www.MarcoClubConnection.com. “When I heard the track for the first time, I instantly knew it would be a success within the dance club marketplace. Club owners and instructors are also speaking out about the song and the reaction they are already receiving. “Tried out ‘High Time For Gettin’ Down’ with my group today and they went nuts,” said Patti Nivens, a choreographer/line dance instructor from New Jersey. “They were up on their feet in no time.” Bronco Jim, a DJ from Keelersville Club in Pennsylvania added, “I’ve always loved this song! The crowd just loves it and I put it in high rotation right away. It is great for my club.” The track, along with Tritt’s new album The Calm After…, is available for purchase on iTunes. Alan Jackson Tune-In Alerts!

Country superstar, Alan Jackson, takes the stage at New York’s world famous Carnegie Hall tonight, October 28. The special night of music will feature songs from The Bluegrass Album; Jackson will be joined by the noted bluegrass musicians that are featured on the album. Following his Carnegie Hall concert, Jackson will appear Tuesday, October 29, on CBS’ Late Show With David Letterman (11:35pm ET/PT), performing “Blacktop” from The Bluegrass Album. Next week, Jackson will be featured on ABC’s telecast of The 47th Annual CMA Awards as he and George Strait, the two top nominees in CMA Awards history, perform together in a tribute to legendary Country Music Hall of Fame member George Jones. The Wall Street Journal dubs The Bluegrass Album “one of this year’s strongest country albums of any sort”…while Rolling Stone notes “The Bluegrass Album is a labor of love, not a vanity project…” and the Chicago Tribune states, “For those who want deep roots, it’s a record that fills the bill.” People gives The Bluegrass Album “3½ stars (out of 4),” the Los Angeles Times calls it “…earthy, lonesome music-making….” and USA Today says, “Country’s dirt road anthems leave your mouth dusty? Chase Rice to Release Ready Set Roll on Oct 8th

Relative newcomer to the country music scene, Chase Rice is trying his luck in mainstream radio after a proven track record of killing it on his own at live shows. His first radio single “Ready Set Roll” will hit digital retailers Tuesday October 8th with an EP following one week later. While you my not know Rice’s name now, you already know his work. George Strait Releases His Latest Album, Love Is Everything. Yesterday, May 14, George Strait released his latest studio album, Love Is Everything. The album includes his current single and latest #1, “Give It All We Got Tonight.” I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it and as George would say, “it’s pretty risqué.” As some of you may know, there has been a huge effort made by fans and radio to get this single to #1 on the charts, making it George’s 60th #1 hit for his 60th birthday. Well 60 for 60 worked! The song is currently sitting at #1 on real-time charts and if it can hold that position until Saturday, it will become official. Love Is Everything has plenty more great songs on it and I’m sure George will surpass that 60 mark with one of them.
