Osage Creek Amphitheater Cancels Throwdown Tour

Osage Creek Amphitheater Cancels Willie Nelson’s Country Throwdown Tour. It is a sad day as many people are hearing of the recent Osage Creek Amphitheater news. Unfortunately Willie Nelson‘s greatly anticipated Country Throwdown Tour has been cancelled for July 3 in Northwest Arkansas. The weather, not the hardworking men and women who are involved in this event, is to blame. Because of the vast amount of snow, rain, and flooding the sight was at a standstill on many occasions. “We had a barrier of space in there for weather to be a factor, however, the unprecedented rains that we had made it impossible to even get to the site at times.” -Greg Smith Greg Smith, owner of the amphitheater, is determined to have the venue finished before the summer is over and looking forward to the first note to be played on the now unfinished stage. Smith has a positive mindset and is looking to re-schedule Willie Nelson and his friends for a later date this summer (let’s keep our fingers crossed!). For those who want a full refund for their tickets you can call (479)-239-4041, other ticket holders can save their tickets to be used for the hopeful re-booking. For those still interested in seeing the Country Throwdown Tour that same weekend, you are in luck. Saturday, July 2 the boys will make a stop in Eufaula, Ok at the Eufaula Cove Amphitheater and Monday, July 4 they will be in Fort Worth, Tx at Billy Bob’s. Drake White Releases Debut Single – The Simple Life

Drake White Has Released His Debut Single, “The Simple Life,” To Radio. Drake White released his debut single, “The Simple Life,” to radio this week tying Justin Moore for the most added song (“Point At You”). “The Simple Life” is co-written by Drake, Jeremy Stover and Brian Dean Maher and will appear on Drake’s upcoming debut album due out late 2013 on MCA. Drake explains what’s behind the debut single saying “There’s a buzz in this world. There’s a distraction and a constant noise. ‘The Simple Life’ is about getting away from that and knowing what is important to you—family, friends, God, whatever and really feeling that you don’t have to be going 90 million miles an hour all the time. You can slow down, live simply and when you let the loose ends drag, they say the stress levels go down, the health goes up. When you’re healthy and stress free, that’s a good life. That’s the simple life.” The Alabama native describes his sound as “country rockin’ freestyle blues” with influences by Ray Charles, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson, whom Drake toured with on the Country Throwdown tour. He has also opened for Eric Church, Kid Rock, Alan Jackson, Little Big Town and most recently, Blackberry Smoke. Below is a video of Drake talking about his debut single, enjoy!

Adam Hood Hell of a Fight Video

Adam Hood Releases Video for Soulful Single, Hell of a Fight. Adam Hood has released the video for his current single, “Hell of a Fight“. This single comes off of Hood’s second studio album, The Shape of Things, which released in 2011, and it is the follow up single to his “Flame and Gasoline“. You might have caught Adam when he was on tour for select dates with Miranda Lambert, or maybe you heard him when was on the Country Throwdown Tour with Willie Nelson in 2011. Or maybe you haven’t heard of him just yet. But really, you should take a couple minutes to check out the video below. Hood has had a career that is part plain ole’ hard work, and part plain ole’ luck. The first album he ever released was self-financed, and he developed his talents in singing and songwriting while working in his native Alabama. He has put a whole lot of effort into the honing of his chosen craft, but he has had some lucky run-ins along with way with producers and other artists (ahem, Lambert caught his set at a club in Texas when she had to stop due to car troubles, and that’s how he got on her tour!). Regardless of how he landed in Nashville, he’s got the talent to stay! See for yourself below! Adam Hood’s Hell of a Fight. Hell of a Fight – Adam Hood – Adam Hood Videos

Jamey Johnson Performs at Farm Aid 2011

Jamey Johnson Joins Willie Nelson and Others at 2011 Farm Aid Performances. Even though Jamey Johnson is currently on tour and simultaneously recording a new album, he is still taking the time to perform at the Farm Aid 2011 Saturday, August 13th at the Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas City. Johnson is joining a line-up of performers which includes Willie Nelson among others. Farm Aid is a long running benefit concert founded to support American family farmers. The benefit has managed to raise over $39 million to aid family farmers all over the country and help them thrive. The mission of Farm Aid has a special meaning to Jamey as he grew up on a family farm in Alabama. “When I was a kid, we had a little bit of land and just about every bit of it was farm…I can’t even name for you everything that we grew from this land. But the fact that we couldn’t make enough money to sustain it meant that we had to eventually move off of it and let it go to someone else.” -Jamey Johnson Especially considering the current climate in the nation from government to the economy, support systems like Farm Aid are little beacons of hope for American farmers. By focusing on family farmers, Farm Aid helps to promote American grown food which fills plates in American homes for American citizens. “Farm Aid is not just important to me, it’s important to anybody who eats. Farm Aid is set up to look after the family farmer, the ones that actually take part in the same crops that they produce for other people. They are not just growing food to send down the line; their family eats the same foods that they sell.” -Jamey Johnson Beyond taking the time to help support American farmers, Jamey Johnson has a lot going on. He recently finished up touring on Willie Nelson’s Country Throwdown, and is now traveling all over the country on his own tour. He will be performing at the 5th Annual ACM Honors in Nashville on September 19th (which will also be in part a tribute to his good friend, singer/songwriter Hank Cochran, who passed away in 2010.). Somewhere in the middle of all this, Johnson is also finding time to complete his next album.

Craig Campbell New Single “Fish”

Craig Campbell Releases New Single “Fish” . “Fish” is the second single off of Craig Campbell‘s self-titled debut album. After great success with “Family Man”, a close to home story for many Americans, “Fish” takes a more upbeat twist. The lyrics tell listeners about a boy and a girl going on a late night fishin’ trip and their enthusiasm for the sport. The song is most certainly not the same message as Trace Adkins‘ “Just Fishin“, a sweet tale of a father and daughter “drownin’ worms and killin’ time.” Campbell will be joining Willie Nelson and the boys on the Country Throwdown Tour that kicks off May 27 in Philadelphia and will be running throughout the summer. Keep your ears open for “Fish” on your local radio stations!

Facts about the Osage Creek Amphitheater: For the fans: The Osage Creek Amphitheater is absolutely enormous, seating almost as many people as BOK center, and far more than any other music venue in the area. Seating capacity can vary depending on the type of concert/festival, but in general it breaks down as follows: 150 VIP Seats 650 Orchestra (pit) Seats 1600 Terrace Seats 3500 Bleacher Seats 6,000 to 10,000 Lawn Capacity Osage Creek Amphitheater Seating Chart The amphitheater is located just 3 miles north of highway 412, making it convenient to residents of Fayetteville, Tulsa, Ft. And speaking of seas, did I mention they’re bringing in the same style seats that are being used in the top-of-the-line Dallas Cowboys stadium?
