KELLIE PICKLER HONORED WITH HEART FOR THE WARRIOR AWARD FROM USO OF NORTH CAROLINA

RALEIGH, N.C. – – Country music singer Kellie Pickler was presented with the Heart for the Warrior Award from the USO of North Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Ninth Annual Salute to Freedom Gala in Raleigh, N.C. The award is given to those who, through their selfless service and contributions, continuously lift the spirits of the troops and their families. Pickler, an Albemarle, N.C. native, participated in her first USO tour in 2007. Since then, she has performed for more than 30,000 troops stationed in eight different countries. “I am so honored to be here,” said Pickler during her acceptance speech. “I am so blessed to have such a beautiful friendship with the people that make up the USO. I come from a military family. I’ve always had a great deal of respect for our service men and women. I work a lot with the USO, I love working with them. We’ve been able to do so many tours overseas. To be in a position where you can take a little piece of home to your service men and women, why would you not do that? They need to know we have their back because they have ours.” The Gala honored service members and people from the community who support America’s military heroes. As part of the evening’s festivities, the USO of North Carolina held a live auction which included a signed guitar from Pickler. The winning bidder was Frank Stewart, who paid $4,900 for the guitar. In total, the Live Auction raised $81,550. The Black River Entertainment recording artist will release her fourth album, The Woman I Am, on Nov. 11. The album, which features her current single, “Little Bit Gypsy,” is available now for pre-sale orders at www.KelliePickler.com. Pickler will also perform on “CMA Country Christmas,” which will tape in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 8 and is scheduled to air on the ABC Television Network on Dec. 2. ERIC CHURCH’S HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW SINGLE WILL BE SHIPPED TO RADIO ON OCT. 22

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013)– “The Outsiders,” the first single off the upcoming new studio album from Eric Church (EMI Records Nashville), will be available for digital purchase and shipped to radio on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The song was written by Church and Casey Beathard and produced by Jay Joyce, Church’s longtime producer. The single will officially go for adds on Monday, Oct. 28. Church teased the news of what’s to come with a video exclusively shared with the Church Choir that has generated a lot of speculation due to its cryptic warning: “On Oct 22 you’ll find out just who we are.” Church is the entertainer Rolling Stone named as one of the “50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now” in its Aug. 15, 2013 issue. Fans in Austin, Texas recently experienced that for themselves at ACL Festival where Fuse.tv wrote, “Church treated his set like a stadium show….[and] had one of the most diverse fan bases of the festival.” No wonder Spin Magazine ranked Church as No. 4 out of 10 on their “Best Things We Saw on Saturday” list from their coverage of Lollapalooza 2013 earlier in the year. The Boston Globe referred to him as “a jacked-up force” when he performed with Kenny Chesney at Gillette Stadium this summer. The Orange County Register, in reviewing his show at Angel Stadium, said, “Church’s 75-minute performance was electrifying,” “rip-roaring,” “attitude aplenty and a performance that alone was well worth the ticket price.” Find out more straight from the source! http://ebmediapr.com/ericchurch/533-eric-churchs-highly-anticipated-new-single-will-be-shipped-to-radio-on-oct-22

Thunder on the Mountain Rumbles Through Arkansas

Like the roads leading up to Mulberry Mountain, the talent of the musical acts appearing at the first ever Thunder on the Mountain country music festival was steep. With headliners Luke Bryan and Toby Keith and over 50 other acts including Justin Moore, Easton Corbin, Montgomery Gentry, Casey Donahew Band and Thompson Square, this festival did, in fact, bring the thunder. In addition to three days and three stages filled with booming entertainment, the festival’s setting was a force to be reckoned with. Located on 650 acres of breathtaking hills, big skies and gorgeous scenery, it was hard not to consider your surroundings as another main act. Camping, fishing, rafting, hiking and even helicopter rides were available to festival goers – along with a wide selection of food and shopping options. The Bud Light Main Stage housed the festival’s bigger acts. If you were looking for a more private show, the Country Pavilion and George’s Majestic Backwoods Stage provided a smaller, more intimate backdrop. The great thing about country music is how gracious the artists are when it comes to their fans. Recurring statements such as, “Thank you,” “We couldn’t do this without you,” and “We love you,” were uttered from artists’ lips throughout the entirety of the festival. On Saturday night when the last of the tour buses rolled out and the dust settled, hearts sank, yet simultaneously fluttered with excitement at the thought of what is in store for next year. If you couldn’t make it to Thunder on the Mountain this year, do yourself a favor and don’t make the same mistake twice. Make the drive up that curvy, winding road in 2014. You won’t be disappointed.

The Lone Bellow In Memphis, TN: Show Review

The Lone Bellow: Cry, Dance, Smile and Shout…Live From Memphis, TN! I’ve been listening to The Lone Bellow for quite a few months now. “You Never Need Nobody” is one of those songs I sing in my car on every commute home. A unique blend of country, folk and gospel, the trio’s heartfelt melodies pull you in and simply won’t leave you alone. If I had to describe this band in one word, it would be “emotional.” It’s rare to come across music that triggers such a wide range of feelings. Every song on their self-titled, debut album makes you want to cry as hard as you can, dance as much as you can, smile as big as you can and shout as loud as you can – all at the same time. I was blessed with the opportunity to see trio, made up of lead singer Zach Williams, guitarist Brian Elmquist and mandolin player Kanene Pipkin, in an intimate setting at 1884 Lounge in Memphis, Tennessee. Elmquist and Pipkin, also vocalists, harmonize with Williams in a way that makes you wonder how three people who are so musically compatible managed to find one another. My favorite concerts have always been the kind where you can literally reach out and touch the artist. This was one of those concerts. There were moments when I closed my eyes and forgot where I was. There were moments of dancing and there were moments of tears. I guess you could say I was all kinds of emotional, and I wasn’t the only one. Aside from their stunning execution, my favorite thing about The Lone Bellow’s performance was that you could feel the raw emotion radiating from their vocal chords and fingertips. What’s more, after the show, the band was much obliged to chat with their fans, sign autographs and take photos. They were approachable and relatable. It’s quite apparent that they love what they do and appreciate those who feel the same way. If you haven’t heard The Lone Bellow, please do yourself a favor and do so – right now. I guarantee you will be crying, dancing, smiling and shouting before you know it. Brittany is a guest contributor!
