Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton DIVORCING?!?!

Miranda Lambert on Country Music News Blog

In a move that quite honestly shocked us here at Country Music News Blog, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have officially filed for divorce. Today marks the official dissolution of their marriage, although the paperwork was filed some time ago, with Blake as the petitioner. No word on the cause, however it is clear that Blake is keeping the Oklahoma property while Miranda is moving to Nashville along with her menagerie of animals. According to TMZ, he couple says, “This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy heart that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real family, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.” (source) Well, I guess that’s that. Good luck to the splitting couple. Hopefully they’ll find happiness in the next chapter of their lives. I dedicate this one to all those “Mrs Shelton” fans out there.

Esquire magazine turns 80 and to celebrate the anniversary, the magazine set out to create an epic portfolio titled “The Life of Man,” comprised of 80 original photographs of actors, sports icons, musicians, politicians, Presidents, etc, ages 80 to one. The high caliber list of musicians featured in the portrait include Willie Nelson (80), Tim McGraw (46), Blake Shelton (37), Eddie Van Halen (58), Dr. Dre (48), Jason Derulo (24), Greyson Chance (16) and Ethan Bortnick (13). Each were asked about either the best day of their life so far, the best advice they’ve ever gotten, or what they are most looking forward to: Willie Nelson – Best advice – “An ex-father-in-law gave it to me. ‘Take my advice and do what you want.’ ” Dr. Dre – Best advice – “To protect my B’s: my babe, my body, and my business.” Tim McGraw – Best advice – “Was from Johnny Paycheck, a country singer. He looked at me right in eye and said, ‘Son, always go hard and fast, so when you hit the ditch, you can come out on the other side.” Blake Shelton – Most looking forward to – “November. It’s my favorite month of the year. Because I like it when shit dies.” Eddie Van Halen – Best advice – “Was from my father at an early age when we were making music. I would make mistakes, and I would ask, ‘What do you do?’ And he’d say, in Dutch, ‘Gewoon door blijven gaan,’ which means ‘Don’t stop and don’t let the audience know you made a mistake.’ ”

The Voice Season Four Night Two

The Voice Season 4 Premiere Week Comes To An End. Tonight was the second night of season four of The Voice, ending the premiere week of the NBC hit show. Unfortunately, our favorite coach, Blake Shelton, didn’t gain any team members tonight. But there is always next week and I’m not worried. Even though, Shelton didn’t add to his team, there were more than a couple moments on tonight’s episode that made me excited. Shakira gained two females contenders, both of whom surprised me with their performances. The first was Tawnya Reynolds who sang “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys.” The second was Cathia, who gave me chills when she sang “No Me Doy por Vencido.” Shakira also gave me a good chuckle when she pulled out her “English to Country” dictionary. The book ended up being one of her secret weapons in locking down Reynolds over Shelton. Adam Levine also grabbed a talented duo with, Midas Whale. They gave a great performance with their version of “Folsom Prison Blues.” Levine added one other member to his team in addition to the duo and Usher also snatched up one member. All-in-all it was a great first week of season four. Be sure to watch next week when The Voice returns on Monday and Tuesday. Don’t forget you can get any of the Blind Audition singles on iTunes.

The Voice Season 4 Premiere

Season 4 Of The Voice Has Begun And Blake Shelton Leads With The Biggest Team After Night 1. Tonight was the Season 4 premiere of NBC’s hit show The Voice. Two huge differences in this season and past, are the replacement of two coaches. Christina Aguilera and Cee Loo Green have decided to take a break from the show and Shakira and Usher have been chosen to keep their big, rotating chairs warm. But don’t worry, country’s own Blake Shelton hasn’t gone anywhere and neither has Maroon 5 hunk, Adam Levine. Shelton, being the winning coach for the past two seasons in a row, started the night off right when the first performers to hit the stage chose him. I say “performers” because Shelton picked up a package deal. The Morgan Twins are the first-ever twins The Voice has seen. They sang Alicia Keys‘ “Fallin’.” Shelton also grabbed 16-year-old Texan, Danielle Bradbery, who sang Taylor Swift’s “Mean.” Shelton’s 3rd team member was Christian Porter who sang a unique version of LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It.” Leah Lewis sang Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away,” but unfortunately wasn’t picked by any of the coaches. I was sad that this one slipped through the cracks because she was just too cute. “It just feels right when I sing country music,” said the 15-year-old singer. The night ended with Judith Hill picking Levine as her coach after bringing the house down with Aguilera’s “What A Girl Wants.” Hill was Levine’s only member for the night and the two newbies, Shakira and Usher, both ended the night with two members each. This was only night one and I can NOT wait for tomorrow’s episode. Hopefully we will get to hear some talented country singers!

I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool

Blog Rodeo March 2013: Is The Love That Country Music Is Feeling The Real Deal? Or Will It Be Gone Before You Can Say Gaucho Pants? I consider country music to be one of the staples in my life. I grew up on the lyrics and have never been afraid to show my support in front of large crowds of strangers. As cliché as it sounds, I feel a real connection with Barbara Mandrell’s famous words, “I was country, when country wasn’t cool.” The topic for this month’s Country Music Blog Rodeo is “why is the mainstream in love with country music?” Well, for the most part I think people like to jump on the latest trend train and make sure everybody knows they have a first-class, window seat! We all know someone who bought skinny jeans and bubble necklaces in every color. Maybe you know a girl who proudly displays a bright pink browning sticker on her vehicle, yet she has never spent a minute in a deer stand. There are plenty of examples I could throw your way, but you get my point. If the “man” is telling them one thing is all the rage, then they’ll be the first on their block with that particular item. The Voice introduced countless people to Blake Shelton, Oklahoma’s own outspoken troubadour, and opened the doors wide open to display the country scene. I’m not saying it’s impossible that someone, who once was only a fan of Rap music would never hear of Shelton, but I will say that it was a pretty good chance. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it’s bad for country music to gain new fans…heck bring them all…but only those who are truly connecting to the music will last. In my opinion, those are the only ones you can call “fans.” Some things I know, you aren’t a cowboy/cowgirl just because you grew up in Texas, you aren’t an expert on country music because you have two Brad Paisley CD’s and a Shania Twain cassette tape, and I’m not a hillbilly because I live in Arkansas. No matter what TV show is or isn’t getting a high rating, my love for country music isn’t going anywhere. Blog Rodeo Roundup: See What Everyone Else Is Saying!
