Miranda Lambert was born November 10, 1983, in Lindale, TX, a small town about 80 miles east of Dallas, the daughter of country guitar player and songwriter Rick Lambert (her mother, Bev, ran a detective agency). Growing up in a house dedicated to country music, she began entering country talent contests when she was 16, and appeared as part of the Johnny High Country music Review in Arlington, TX.

Lambert learned to play guitar and immediately began writing her own songs, continuing to enter talent contests (one led to her appearing in a potato chip ad and a part in the 2001 teen comedy Slap Her She’s French). At 17 (while still in high school) she formed the Texas Pride lineup and began gigging professionally, and later in 2001, with financial help from her father, she put forth an independent CD, Miranda Lambert, that showcased her songs, two of which, “Texas Pride” and “Somebody Else,” actually entered the Texas material charts.

In 2003 she finished first in the Texas auditions for the Nashville Star tv show, moving to Nashville to appear on it, eventually finishing third in the competition, which led to a recording contract with Sony. Still only 21 years old, her first major-label single, “Me and Charlie Talking,” was issued in 2004, and the consequent album, Kerosene, for which Lambert wrote or co-wrote ten of the 11 tracks, appeared in 2005 on Epic Records, came by Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in 2007. Revolution was put forth in 2009.

MIRANDA LAMBERT EARNS GRAMMY NOMINATION FOR BEST COUNTRY SONG, TRIO PISTOL ANNIES’ INTERSTATE GOSPEL NOMINATED FOR BEST COUNTRY ALBUM NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Miranda Lambert is nominated for Best Country Song at this year’s 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards, earning a nod for her Top 15 hit “It All Comes Out in the Wash,” which she co-wrote with The Love Junkies (Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna, Liz Rose). Meanwhile, Pistol Annies – the superstar trio comprised of Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley – earns a Best Country Album nomination for their third studio LP Interstate Gospel. “It All Comes Out in the Wash” is the lead single from Lambert’s critically-acclaimed, No. 1 album Wildcard, which was released Nov. 1. The nod for the “cute-as-hell country bop” (NPR) marks Lambert’s fourth nomination in the category. Interstate Gospel arrived in 2018 to rave reviews and was included in “Year’s Best” lists from Esquire, Uproxx, Vulture, Entertainment Weekly, The Ringer, NPR Music, Billboard, and more. Lambert previously won Best Country Album in 2014 for Platinum. The Pistol Annies have been special guests on Lambert’s “Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars” tour throughout the fall. The all-female trek wraps this weekend with shows in Jacksonville, FL, Duluth, GA, and Greensboro, NC.

Miranda Lambert made country music history following the 53rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 15th. The country mega-star now stands as the most decorated artist in ACM history with a collective 32 career wins. Lambert won three awards during last night’s show including her ninth consecutive “Female Vocalist of the Year” award and two for “Song of the Year” for her emotionally-raw hit “Tin Man” (songwriter and performer) from her Platinum double-album The Weight of These Wings. “I cannot believe this, I really can’t,” Lambert said. “I love country music. It’s my entire life, and the fact that you all care so much about what I’m doing, I’ll never take it for granted.” Lambert also stunned in the performance of her newest single, “Keeper of the Flame,” which hits radio on April 30th. The single is her latest from the powerhouse double-album, The Weight of These Wings.
