Scotty McCreery Sings with Tim McGraw

Tim McGraw Brings Out Scotty McCreery at SC “Brothers of the Son” Tour Stop. Okay, so we all know that Scotty McCreery has been launched into stardom because of American Idol. Yes, its possible we would of heard about him eventually…but it would have been a completely different story. Now, we all have our opinions about this young man (and let’s be honest, everyone who performs on that show…), but I’ve got to say, that he must have made some kind of an impression if all these country music veterans are so willingly performing with him left and right. Not only has Scotty been on tour with Brad Paisley‘s 2012 international Virtual Reality Tour, but now the still very young star is making cameos on the Brothers of the Sun Tour. Over the weekend at the South Carolina tour stop, Tim McGraw brought McCreery out to perform classic “I Like, I Love It“…and the crowd clearly ate that right up. This tour has been highly anticipated by country music fans, and it is a really big deal for Scotty to get to be involved with it (on top of everything else he is getting to do…). You can check out the fan video below…but you’ll have to turn it up a bit as it is a little hard to hear over the screaming girls. Scotty McCreery Sings Tim McGraw’s “I Like, I Love It”. Zac Brown Band and Alan Jackson at BamaJam 2012

Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson and Many More at BamaJam 2012, Day 2! After we had to deal with the big storm that blew through on Day 1 of BamaJam 2012, we were ready for a fresh start on Day 2! Luckily for us, there weren’t any other big hiccups the rest of the weekend, and the second day full of music and fun turned out great! Not only did we get to see the likes of Ronnie Milsap, Alan Jackson and Zac Brown Band live and in person, but we also discovered a lot of new and upcoming talent that we just can’t get enough of! Southern Ground Took Over! They could have easily renamed that second day of the festival “Southern Ground Artists” Day. This is Zac Brown’s label, and they basically just took over the Ram Stage for most of the day. We got to check out folks like Levi Lowrey, Nic Cowan, and Sonia Leigh, all with an amazing amount of talent and passion. The thing I love about the Southern Ground artists is that it is clear they are in it for the music and not the fame or fortune. This gives their songs a realness that you don’t get from just anyone. I look forward to hearing more from the all of these guys (and girl)! Another high point for the day was getting to meet Casey James and then check out his set. You’d think that after Idol fame, and a few years in the business James might be a little weathered at this point. The reality couldn’t be further from the truth…he was ready to meet with fans and press in good humor and with a smile on his face! He even teased me a little for almost falling over (I’m clumsy…and the ground wasn’t stable!). My appreciation for Casey just continued to grow while watching him perform. He is a really great live performer and his music sounds just as good (if not better) live as on his record. Three Unforgettable Performances! As great as it always is to meet fresh and up and coming talent though, I was basically blown away by the next three acts we saw on stage…this being Ronnie Milsap, Alan Jackson and Zac Brown Band. Ronnie Milsap is nothing short of amazing. His tunes are classic, but he performs them as if they just released yesterday! Besides the music though, I was really entertained by the commentary Milsap shared throughout his set. He took his time to introduce each of the band members, chatted about their music and records they are releasing, and the way he did it was just really funny, like he had all the time in the world. I guess you spend as much time on stage as he has, and you just kind of stop worrying about the schedules and the huge crowds and just kind of do your thing. Continuing the iconic country music artist theme…Alan Jackson took the stage not Continue reading Zac Brown Band and Alan Jackson at BamaJam 2012

Kenny Chesney Look A Like Removed From Concert

Kenny Chesney Fan and Possible Body Double Removed from Recent Concert In Nashville. Over the weekend there was a bit of a misunderstanding at Kenny Chesney‘s “Brothers of the Sun” Tour stop in Nashville. A fan, Nathan Blankenship, was accused of being a Chesney impersonator and causing a disruption among the fans. His ticket was confiscated and he was removed from LP Field. Chesney’s social media managers released the following statement on Facebook this morning indicating that the Kenny team had nothing to do with Blankenship’s dismissal from the concert. Kenny Chesney Facebook Press Release: Pretty bizarre, right? Well, take a look at Nathan next to Kenny (photo courtesy Nashville Gab. Kenny Chesney and Nathan Blankenship: See a resemblance? Seems Odd To Me… I suppose I can see why the venue managers could get upset…maybe. But the thing is LP Field is huge, how did they spot this guy in the first place? Also, aside from creating a riot, how much of a fuss could he have made? He looks a lot like Kenny Chesney, but not necessarily enough for fans to freak out to the point that they cause enough trouble and Blankenship would be forced to leave. I’m glad to hear that someone is trying to fix this up with the fan, and that Chesney’s team is communicating with fans about it. What do ya’ll think? Should he have been thrown out? Or is this just silliness?

Tim McGraw and Eric Church at BamaJam 2012 Day 1

Get A Complete Run-Down of BamaJam 2012 Day 1, Including Performances From Tim McGraw and Eric Church! I can’t say that the first day of BamaJam 2012 went off without a hitch. But I can say that it was an eventful day and at the end of it, definitely worth the twelve hour drive from Oklahoma HaleighT and I took to get there. There were storms. There were country music fans everywhere. There were country music stars. There was beer. There was a lot of sunshine. But most of all and most importantly, there was some really good live country music. When we arrived at the festival grounds last minute details were still being arranged and finalized, and the bamajamers and campers were just starting to arrive! Two of the three stages were already rocking out with Buffalo Clover and Martin McDaniel. Once got in, we followed the sound of guitar strumming and good country lyrics and found David Kroll on stage rocking for some faithful fans standing in the direct path of the Alabama sun. (We got a chance to talk to him for a little, and he’s a cheerful, easy going kind of guy…stay tuned for interview details from HaleighT!). After catching David, HaleighT and I had the opportunity to meet up with Darryl Worley! Now, she will have a complete run-down for you in a couple of days (plus video!), but for now, I’ll say that Worley has got to be one of the funniest, down-to-earth individuals I’ve met. For someone who has been in the country music industry for as long as he has, its refreshing to see that he is still so generous with his time! Still floating on air after meeting Worley, we were all set to head back over to the stage area to catch Bill Gentry‘s set…but just when he was about to start playing, everyone was sent running for cover (literally). A big ole storm rolled right over the BamaJam festivities. It was touch and go for a minute, but luckily the event organizers kept a cool head and got things back on track! There was a pretty lengthy delay because the downpour and high winds beat up some of the equipment, but the bamajamers and the crew were not about to let that stop us! Willie Nelson and Darryl Worley were scheduled to perform on the main stage, but unfortunately got cut because of the weather. Yet, Eric Church and Tim McGraw stuck with it, and once it was confirmed the equipment would work properly and safely, they got on stage and each gave a heck of a performance! This was my first time seeing either of them live, and it was an amazing experience. Church told us when he got on stage that he would give us his all, and that man wasn’t lying! He put his heart and soul into his performance as he belted out some of his best from “Country Music Jesus” to “Jack Daniels” to Continue reading Tim McGraw and Eric Church at BamaJam 2012 Day 1

BamaJam 2012 Must See List

BamaJam 2012: The Acts You Don’t Want To Miss! BamaJam 2012 is just hours away, and HaleighT and I are hittin’ the highway to get there! The event organizers have pulled together 3 days of great music and fun activities, and we couldn’t be more excited. One of the good things about festivals like this is that there is a really good mix of artists. There will be some big name headliners, but there will also be some new up and comers that haven’t hit it big maybe but still have the talent. So, for our readers, I’m going to break this out, and give you the list of my “must-see” performances for this year’s festival! These are the people that push come to shove, I won’t be missing…no matter what. MissMolly’s “Must-See” List for BamaJam 2012! Headliners: 1. Willie Nelson You just can’t get more iconic than Willie. 2. Eric Church Church is just straight up bad ass. His performance will be beyond awesome. End of story. 3. Zac Brown Band There isn’t a single song these guys have put out, that I don’t love. It doesn’t matter what mood I’m in or what’s going on, but I am always a little bit happier after listening to ZBB. So, I simply can’t wait to see what these guys bring to the stage…live! Up and Coming: 1. Conner Christian and Southern Gothic I hadn’t heard of this group until I check out the complete line-up, and I’m glad that they’ve landed on my radar. They definitely aren’t traditional country, but have an Americana, kind of southern rock vibe. Their sound is gritty and I think has the potential to be great live and festival perfect! 2. Sonia Leigh Leigh has been around for more than a few years now, and her career is really starting to pick up traction! She is a singer/songwriter with a sound that’s got country at its core and a rock vibe mixed in. She has all the makings of a great live performer and I have high hopes for her set. 3. Casey James We’ve had our eye on this talented young man since his days on American Idol, and I’m ready to see if he is as good in live and in person as he is live and on tv! Based on the music he has released so, I’m pretty confident it will be a good show! Be sure to check out the complete line-up and figure out who makes it on your “must-see” list.
