Alan Jackson Benefit Concert

Alan Jackson Heads to Mineral, VA for Benefit Concert. Alan Jackson is currently scheduled to perform a benefit concert in Mineral, VA, but the town’s mayor, Pam Hawlowe says that money still needs to be raised to fund the event. The concert is intended to raise support for the area around Mineral and those who live there after the August 2011 earthquake that rocked the east coast. Jackson waived his fee for performing, but Hawlowe reports the county still need around $200,000 to make sure the performance can go forward. They are currently requesting aid from local and near-local businesses and companies. All proceeds made from the show would go straight to the community to help rebuild and repair the area. As of now, the concert is scheduled for Sunday, May 20th at the Louisa County High School.

Kelly Clarkson Gets Country with Shania Twain Cover

Kelly Clarkson Covers Shania Twain at Canadian Concert. At a recent concert in Ontario, Canada Kelly Clarkson got a little country on stage with a fan requested Shania Twain song! The we-just-wish-she-would-give-us-a-full-country-album American Idol alum sang a perfect rendition of Shania’s now classic, “You’re Still The One“. There is quite a bit of twang going on in Ms. Clarkson’s accents in this video…really think she’d have a nice comfy home in country music (It’s not a stretch and you know it! Jason Aldean duet, anyone? Reba McEntire duet, hello?). Anyway, country or not, Kelly rocks it as usual. Check it out below! Kelly Clarkson Sings Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One“. Sugarland’s In the Hands of the Fans Tour 2012

Sugarland Gets Back On The Road with “In the Hands of the Fans” Tour for 2012! I had heard on the country music grapevine that Sugarland‘s Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush were going to be laying low tour wise for most of 2012, but it looks like the grapevine was (thankfully) wrong. The duo will be heading back out on the road starting April 5th through August 18th(so far!) for their “In the Hands of the Fans” Tour. You might be wondering about the tour’s title, and you should be! Nettles and Bush are letting the fans take-over each concert’s set list by requesting songs however they can (Twitter, Facebook, text, handwritten signs, anything goes)! As long as the tune you want to hear is off their albums or something they’ve performed before at another concert, they’ll take your requests. How cool is that? Click here to sign up for updates, and be sure to check the complete list of tour dates below. Sugarland will be joined on tour in select cities by Lauren Alaina and Canaan Smith.
