Country Throwdown Tour 2010

The Country Throwdown Tour will begin May 13th and run through June 20th. Fans and music lovers got a sneak peak of what to expect during the Country Throwdown Tour at the Bluebird Cafe last Wednesday in Nashville. Eight talented singer/songwriters are featured on this tour: Ashley Ray Brad Tursi Dave Pahanish Jedd Hughes Sarah Buxton Walker Hayes Heather Morgan. They will be playing in the Bluebird Café Tent during the entire Throwdown Tour.  These artists will perform an intimate “In the Round”-type sets in the Bluebird Café Tent throughout the day, as well as play nightly on a specially designed stage. Headliners for this tour are: Montgomery Gentry Jamey Johnson Little Big Town Jack Ingram. Additional artists scheduled to appear are Eric Church, the Eli Young Band, Jonathan Singleton & The Grove, Lost Trailers, Ryan Bingham and Emily West, with more artists to be announced.Country Music Photo Gallery

Martina McBride:Lilith Fair

Martina McBride to join Lilith Fair 2010 Martina McBride will join Miranda Lambert, Dixie Chicks, Sugarland, and several others for the 2010 Lilith Fair. Sarah McLachlan created this  female-oriented festival which will make its return in 2010.  The Lilith Fair started in 1997 and ran through 1999. It will feature an array of diverse artists from Kelly Clarkson to The Go-Go’s and will hit a number of cities this summer. Grand Ole Opry Goes Home!

After a three month run at the Ryman, The Grand Ole Opry will return to its’ rightful home tonight! The Grand Ole Opry® presented by Humana® will return to the Grand Ole Opry House after a three-month run at the historic Ryman Auditorium tonight. Scheduled to appear this weekend are Opry members Josh Turner and Bill Anderson as well as special guests including Keith Anderson, Grammy® winners The Oak Ridge Boys and Sandi Patty, Chris Young and more. In celebration of the Opry’s first night back at the Opry House, the Opry and Turner are launching the first sweepstakes on MyOpry, opry.com’s video and photo sharing site. Inspired by Turner’s current hit single “Why Don’t We Just Dance” from his album HAYWIRE due in stores Feb. 9, fans can upload videos of themselves dancing to the single to MyOpry.com for a chance to meet Turner at the Opry later this year. Fans who upload videos will be entered in the contest, and their dance moves will be posted online. Brad Paisley to Headline New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium

Brad Paisley announces he will be headlining the 2010 New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium! For six years running, the New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium has been the hottest summer concert in New England, selling out the stadium in as little as 15 minutes. Today Kraft Entertainment announced that the New England Country Music Festival will return for a seventh year in 2010, featuring an incomparable lineup of country music’s hottest artists, including 12-time Academy of Country Music Award winner Brad Paisley. Tickets to the August 21 show will go on sale Saturday, Jan. 30. The Country Music Association Keeps Students Playing

The CMA (Country Music Association) has made the largest donation to-date to Nashville;s public school systems to keep music programs alive. The CMA has donated $1,066,632 earned during the CMA Music Festival to the Nashville Public School Systems to help keep music alive in the classrooms. It is their largest donation to date and something we are all very proud of. This donation is one of many in the CMA’s “Keep the Music Playing” campaign, which has now achieved over $3Million.
