Shooter Jennings The Deed and The Dollar Video

Shooter Jennings New Video for The Deed and The Dollar. Listening to Shooter Jennings new single (released Jan. 3, 2012), “The Deed and The Dollar” gives me one thought, “Ahh, now this, is country music.”, followed quickly by a second thought, “I really dig this track!”. And I do…dig it. It’s a great tune with a simple message and mellow, subtle lyrics. The video which recently released matches the song perfectly. It is beautifully made without any kind of pretense or overt showmanship. It’s just Shooter hangin’ out, playing his guitar, and singin’ his song best he knows how. Can we really ask for more than that? Should we? Check it out below. Watch Shooter’s “The Deed and The Dollar” Now. The Deed and the Dollar – Shooter Jennings – Shooter Jennings Videos

Jessie James When You Say My Name Video

Jessie James Releases New Music and a New Video. Jessie James has released a new video for her current single, “When You Say My Name” which debuted on CMT today (you can watch it below). It had been about a year since we’d heard anything from James, so I had to take a little stroll down memory lane to remember who earlier tunes. After giving her music a listen, I could see why it was hard for me to remember her. Jessie James isn’t really a country singer. She is a pop singer, if that. Actually, a couple months ago country music’s internet news sources were all abuzz because it had been revealed that the pop diva Katy Perry wrote her 2009 single, “Bullet“, a song that is shamelessly trying to pass for something it can’t be (a country song). Sure, James has that throaty, country roughness thing going on in her vocals, but really, it sounds a little too forced to be genuine. Also, the details in her songs that are, I’m assuming, supposed to be the country “hallmarks” (like the strumming of a banjo), sound more like an after thought than an organic part of the song. I’m just not buying it, and if you’re on the same page with me, this video isn’t going to do much to convince you otherwise. Take a look, and let us know what you think. Amy Dalley New Album Coming Soon

Amy Dalley Is Set To Release Her New Album In March. Amy Dalley is set to release her new album, Coming Out Of The Pain, March 27. This is the Nashville-based country singer/songwriter’s second full length album and combines classic pop-country with the edge of heartland rock. The album was produced by Dalley and husband/engineering/writing partner Jack Sizemore, who is a member of Jason Aldean’s band, and New Voice Entertainment. “This album is just a natural evolution of my own maturity and growth. I think it sounds very me, yet edgier. I really love the songs. In my musical career, I feel happy now. I feel like I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing and what I should have been doing all along. That means taking the reins and being in control of my future in music.” -Dalley Dalley has been a performer since childhood in Kingsport, TN and got her pro start performing at the Dollywood amusement park. In 1994 she relocated to Nashville and formed the national touring group, the Hillbilly Gypsies. Later she landed a deal with Hamstein Music, getting her song “Dream Too Small” on an episode of Dawson’s Creek. In 2003 Dalley signed with Curb Records and released some successful singles, her highest-charting being “Men Don’t Change.” Curb never released the full-length album and in 2008 Dalley left the label. Dalley plans to tour actively in 2012 in support of Coming Out Of The Pain.

New Music From Miley Cyrus?

Miley Cyrus Releases Video for Cover of Bob Dylan Song. Well, it looks like Miley Cyrus might be making an effort to get back to those country roots of hers…even if it is by covering someone else’s music. The Hannah Montana star has released a video for her cover of Bob Dylan‘s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go“, and it is currently featured on CMT (but you can watch it below!). This particular cover is featured on the second of a 4-disc tribute album titled Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan (Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International) from whose proceeds a portion will actually be donated to Amnesty International. Now Bob Dylan is definitely Americana, folkish, but not always necessarily country, certainly not the mainstream country Miley is connected to. However, Cyrus fills in plenty of twang and slow guitar in this to give it her own country feel. I have to say though, that while her efforts to be involved with Amnesty International are comendable, I’m not really buying the country angle from her right now. Do you we all remember what she subjected us to in 2010, “Can’t Be Tamed” (which CMT also featured)? Well, if you don’t remember, good for you because it was awful (If you’re curious though, you can watch it below). Miley experienced quite a few embarrassments awhile back (from this video to awkward Lindsey Lohan-esque party escapades), and I think she may just be using the country platform to claw her way back into the good graces of the American public. Or maybe she’s grown up, and it’s a genuine interest in exploring her country roots (grew up in TN…her dad is Billy Ray Cyrus…). Who knows? I guess we will just have to wait and see. In the meantime, watch the two videos and let us know what you think! Check out Miley’s New Video Below. Lionel Richie Tuskegee Album

Lionel Richie will release Tuskegee, a collection of 13 of his international hits recorded with some of the biggest names in country music, on March 27 on Mercury Nashville. Lionel Richie’s duet partners include Jennifer Nettles, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Billy Currington, Little Big Town, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson and Jimmy Buffett. Tuskegee is an exciting new chapter in a career that has seen album sales of more than 100 million, 22 Top 10s, fifty Grammys, an Academy Award for Best Original Song, a Golden Globe and a host of other awards. Tuskegee is also a musical homecoming that feels like a heartwarming reunion with a beloved friend. He proves that you can go home again as he returns to his Southern roots to pay tribute to his hometown of Tuskegee, Alabama, where he was shaped as a man and a musician. He was exposed to country, gospel, R&B and classical music growing up and this town is where he helped form the Commodores and wrote his first hits, including “Sail On” and “Easy.” “Tuskegee is where it all began, the place where I felt all things were available and possible. It’s where I learned about life and love and the power of music, and the place I built a musical foundation that knows no genres or boundaries.” -Richie Richie is following his songs as they take him back to country, where they have been welcomed for more than two decades. Conway Twitty recorded “Three Times A Lady,” Kenny Rogers famously sang “Lady” and Alabama recorded “Deep River Woman.” He has performed on the Country Music Association Awards three times, his 2011 performance received two standing ovations. Richie says recording Tuskegee was perhaps the most fun he has ever had in the studio. “Tuskegee is going to be one of the most special albums I’ve ever done in my life. This is something that is going to be so special forever because it’s a moment in time when all these artists got together and celebrated some music. What started out as a collaboration of a group of very talented, very successful artists ended up growing into brand new, very good friends.” April 2, a concert special, Lionel Richie and Friends “In Concert,” will be recorded in Las Vegas and aired on CBS at a later date. The show will include Jason Aldean, The Band Perry, Martina McBride, Lady Antebellum, Kenny Rogers and more! Tuskegee Track Listing 1. You Are – with Blake Shelton 2.
