Kacey Musgraves Has Been Announced As The Sole Opener On John Mayer’s 2012 U.S. Tour! Kacey Musgraves has just been announced as the sole opener for John Mayer’s 2012 U.S. Tour! “I can’t wait to get out on the road with John Mayer. To be given this opportunity to tour with a musician and songwriter that I have such high respect for is a dream come true.” -Musgraves The Mercury/Lost Highway recording artist just had her debut performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville during the annual Country Radio Seminar. The singer/songwriter performed her stirring track “Merry Go Round” and received a standing ovation! For those of you who “think” you aren’t familiar with Musgraves, guess again. She co-wrote “Mama’s Broken Heart” on Miranda Lambert’s album Four The Record and “When You Love A Sinner” on Martina McBride’s album Eleven. She also is the female vocalist featured on Josh Abbot Band’s hit single “Oh, Tonight!” Musgraves is currently in the studio working on her debut album that will be released later this year. The album will be co-produced by Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Luke Laird. Watch the video for “Merry Go Round!”

Here Is The Official Music Video For Miranda Lambert’s Latest Single, “Over You!” The Lambert/Shelton families have dealt with a lot of loss over the last few months and it comes as a coincidence that “Over You” was released when it was. Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton co-wrote the emotional song, which is about the passing of Shelton’s older brother Richie. Shelton has said many times that he could have never recorded it himself because of the pain it would cause him to sing it on stage every night. The song is very powerful and every time I hear it, it strikes an emotional chord with me (that’s the thing about country lyrics, so many people can relate in their own way). The first time I saw the video I had full on goosebumps! From the back-story of the song to the cemetery setting…this is definitely a video you have to see! Rascal Flatts Get A Little Wild in New Video for Banjo. Rascal Flatts has released the video for their brand new single, “Banjo“, and its kind of crazy ride. The concept for this video is really fun with Gary Levox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney all filling different “jobs”, and somehow managing to end up singing about a Banjo. Now, I will admit the leggy scantily clad banjo player intercut throughout the video is kind of overkill, and LeVox basically ends up muddin’ in the back roads of Nashville in a tour bus full of sight seers which is a little absurd. At the same time though, they definitely get points for an original idea, and doing something I really didn’t expect! Check it out below, and see what you think. Are you a fan of their new single? For the most part, this video is really simple. It mostly just utilizes footage of the trio performing the song at concerts with a little backstage footage mixed in. I think fans will definitely get a kick out of the video’s open though. Each of the Lady A’s members shares a memory of their first dance and which song they were dancin’ to! Little Big Town And Jay Joyce Are Set To Collaborate On The Band’s 5th Studio Album! Little Big Town announced that they will be working with producer, Jay Joyce, on their fifth studio album. Karen, Kimberly, Jimi and Phillip will be hitting the studio this week to work with Joyce who has previously worked with Eric Church and the Wallflowers. Here Is The Music Video For Wade Bowen’s “Saturday Night!” Wade Bowen’s latest single, “Saturday Night,” was released at the end of 2011. The song has become one of my favorites here lately! The lyrics are about a broken-hearted guy who isn’t really feeling crowds, bars or the 6th day of the week, because they are taking him down memory lane. One of the best lines in the song says, “there’s nothing quite as lonely as a crowd when your all alone.” How true is this statement?! Very! LeAnn Rimes Starts Work On New Album of Original Songs! LeAnn Rimes is headed to the studio next month to start recording a new album of original music! All the song-writing is done, and now she just has to sit down and hammer out those vocals. Last year, Rimes released the impressive project of covers, Lady & Gentlemen, where she tackled some of country music’s most iconic hits from the male greats in the industry. We were super proud of her for taking on such a creative concept, and of course, she totally blew it out of the water! (Catch HaleighT’s review here.) Sure, a lot of what we’ve heard from LeAnn for awhile now has been gossip and “non-stories” mostly spread by paparazzi. However, no amount of bad press will ever change the fact that Rimes is still one of the most talented and gifted female artists the country music scene has had the pleasure of claiming. CMNB definitely can’t wait to see what she’ll offer up with this new album!
