Jason Aldean Snubbed For 2014 CMA’s

The internet seems abuzz with shock and dismay that after years of climbing his way to the top of the charts, Jason Aldean merited not one single CMA nod. It’s actually not too surprising… the country music industry has been using awards and accolades to shape the world’s view of Nashville stars for decades. Jason’s split from his wife, then subsequent romance rumors with the younger mistress is not something the industry overlooks. In our office we call it “morality shaming” and it’s what they do to Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, and Leann Rimes as well as countless of other stars whose lives are less than ideal when they step off stage or out of the studio. I say as long as his tours are selling out, which according to CountryMusicOnTour, they are, then let that speak for him! We want YOU to weigh in! Do you think an artists personal life should affect their ability to earn awards?

New Album from Jason Aldean – Old Boots, New Dirt

Two-time ACM Male Vocalist of the Year Jason Aldean sent country fans buzzing last night when he announced online that his sixth studio album on Broken Bow Records, Old Boots, New Dirt will be released on Oct. 7. Aldean dropped the news exclusively with BuzzFeed, and he is gearing up for another major event with the site tonight at 7:00P CT. “With this new album, it’s definitely the same old me. But, I like to mix things up and try new sounds and go into territory I’ve never explored before, so I do a little bit of that too. That’s why I named the album ‘Old Boots, New Dirt’…I’m almost 10 years into this crazy ride, but in a lot of ways, I feel like I’m just gettin’ started,” said Aldean. “I think my fans have come to expect some surprises from me, and we’ve got another big one comin’ tonight. You’ll have to pay attention or you could miss it in a flash.” Again produced by Michael Knox, the 15-song disc was recorded with members of Aldean’s long time touring band. From start to finish, the new album packs the daring, hard-rocking punch that’s been landing Aldean on the country radio charts since his very first single, 2005’s “Hicktown.” The new album features the smoking lead single, “Burnin’ It Down,” which has held the No. one position on Soundscan’s Country Genre Chart since its release, marking his biggest ever career debut. Old Boots, New Dirt Track List: 1. Just Gettin’ Started (Chris DeStefano, Rhett Akins, Ashley Gorley) 2. Show You Off (Neil Thrasher, Tony Martin, Brett Beavers) 3. Burnin’ It Down (Rodney Clawson, Tyler Hubbard, Brian Kelley, Chris Tompkins) 4. Tryin’ To Love Me (Wendell Mobley, Hillary Lindsey, Neil Thrasher) 5. Sweet Little Somethin’ (David Lee Murphy, Ben Hayslip, Marv Green) 6. Laid Back (Michael Tyler Spragg, Jaron Boyer, Adam Shoenfeld) 7. Tonight Looks Good On You (Dallas Davidson, Rhett Akins, Ashley Gorley) 8. Too Fast (Chris Stapleton, Lee Thomas Miller) 9. If My Truck Could Talk (Wendell Mobley, Neil Thrasher, Andrew Pates) 10. Old Boots, New Dirt (Lee Thomas Miller, Tom Shapiro, Neil Thrasher) 11. I Took It With Me (David Lee Murphy, Ben Hayslip) 12. Don’t Change Gone (Neil Thrasher, Tony Martin, Michael Dulaney) 13. Miss That Girl (Ross Copperman, David Lee Murphy) 14. Gonna Know We Were Here (Brett Beavers, Brett James) 15. Two Night Town (Tim Nichols, Brett James)

Jason Aldean 1994 Music Video

Jason Aldean Premieres 1994 Official Music Video. Jason Aldean debuted his new music video for “1994” exclusively on Entertainment Tonight yesterday (Wednesday, March 20th). Further channeling his “rap” side, Jason does a lot of slow talking in this single especially in the open of the song, and overall it has a really addictive rock vibe. While the video is a lot of fun featuring cameos from Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Hayden Panettiere and others, there’s a lot more daisy duke clad booty shaking than I expected and even a little break dancing mixed in there. It’s a modern and fresh track, but it’s interesting to me that while it’s an homage to Joe Diffie, except for the lyrical references, it couldn’t be less in line with Diffie’s brand of country. In a way, Aldean’s “1994” encapsulates where country was, where it is now and possibly where it is headed as a genre. Take a look below, and let me know what you think. Jason Aldean “1994” Official Music Video.

Jason Aldean 1994-New Single

Jason Aldean Announces That “1994” Will Be His Next Single. Jason Aldean has announced that his next single will be “1994.” The song comes from his recent album, Night Train. I know that a lot of people are probably going to have a problem with this song, but I’m not one of them! I don’t care if people think it “isn’t country.” It is, in my opinion, 4 minutes and 2 seconds worth of fabulous! It’s not something I normally fall in love with, but I did! The first time I heard it was the day Night Train came out, back in October. At first I was laughing and thinking WTH? But before it was over I was dancing in my Jeep and belting “Joe, Joe, Joe Diffie.” This song is made up of Joe Diffie songs and lyrics, and that my friends is COOL! Seriously, who doesn’t love Joe??? If you don’t have “John Deere Green” or “Bigger Than the Beatles” in your music library, well there is a huge possibility that we can’t be friends. So there it is. I’ve said it. I LOVE Jason Aldean’s new single, “1994.” If you haven’t heard it then do so now! If you have and don’t like it, we can just agree to disagree!
