Vince Gill and Sting Team Up in Next Episode of CMT Crossroads. The newest episode of CMT: Crossroads two of the music industries veteran talents, Vince Gill and Sting will be teaming up for what is sure to be an unforgettable collaboration. The CMT Crossroads team is heading to NYC (after not having taped there for over five years) for this particular episode, and will tape the segment in front of an invitation-only crowd. “We are long overdue for a CMT CROSSROADS taping in New York City. Some of our best shows ever were taped there, and this will be no exception. These are two Hall of Famers who, by our count, have 36 Grammys between them…This is going to be an unforgettable evening.” -John Hamlin, SVP, Music Events and Talent, CMT Both of the artists are hugely popular, and rightly so, as they are both extremely talented in their own right. They will both perform their classic hits in addition to selections from their releases which are due to debut this fall. I for one and very curious to see how these two match up musically. It is such an interesting and unexpected pairing. The episode will air in November, so be sure to be on the look out for specific dates and times!

Luke Bryan Performs Country Girl

Luke Bryan Promotes Album Release with TV Performances of Hit Single. As you are no doubt aware by now, Luke Bryan released his new album, Tailgates & Tanlines, Tuesday, August 9th (You can check out HaleighT’s full review by clicking here), and in between performing on Tim McGraw‘s Emotional Traffic tour, Luke has been out and about promoting his new release with TV performances! I have yet to be lucky enough to see Luke perform live and in person (Unlike HaleighT who caught him on the Emotion Traffic tour stop in OKC! Read her full account here!), but fortunately, for now, Luke’s television performances will suffice. This week he was featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live performing his hit Country Girl (Shake It For Me) (see the video below!), and he also stopped by and performed the single on the Today Show. I caught the performance of Luke featured on Jimmy Kimmel, and I have to say I am impressed. I was already sold on Luke because of his obvious talent and penchant for catchy, clever songs (Rain Is a Good Thing, Country Girl (Shake It For Me)) and softer, more emotional tunes (Do I, Someone Else Calling You Baby). However, there are artists who can produce quality work and stellar albums, and there are artists that can perform live. I am happy to report that Luke Bryan qualifies in both categories. It is obvious that when he is on that stage, he is really giving it his all and doing everything he can to make it a great show for his fans. It also doesn’t hurt that the man knows how groove. If you really want to know what I’m talking about (and ladies, especially, you DO want to know), check out the video below and enjoy! Check out Luke’s Jimmy Kimmel Live Performance Here: [youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60S4c2BSAjA] So, what do you think? Is Luke Bryan as good a performer as I say he is?

Kenny Chesney Writes Music For ESPN

Kenny Chesney Writes Theme Song for New Show on ESPN. Kenny Chesney is extending his talents to television theme-song writing! He has recently been tapped to write an original theme for the new ESPN program titled “Rise Up“. The show is a reality type program which will showcase schools across the country in need. The goal will be to provide the athletic departments of these schools with much needed make-overs. Chesney initially told the show’s executive producer Joan Lynch that writing the theme song was the hardest thing he had done. Yet, after watching one episode featuring a school in New Orleans, he managed to write the song in just two hours! Clearly, Chesney has found the show inspiring, and hopefully fans will as well. “Rise Up” will premiere on Tuesday, September 13th at 7pm (ET) on ESPN.

The Voice Auditions In Nashville

Your Chance to Audition for The Voice Comes to Nashville! Auditions for Season 2 of the hit reality competition show The Voice are headed to Nashville, TN! It makes complete sense that the show would hit up Music City to search for talent for the next season as we all know Blake Shelton is one of the four (and our favorite) judges. Also, what better place is there than in a city where music is the back bone, heart, and soul to look for new talent? The Auditions will take place at the Municipal Auditorium on July 29th and 30th. However, you can’t just show up and expect to walk right in! You need to make sure that you register online first by clicking here.
