It looks like Reba is taking the reigns when it comes time to ring in that holiday spirit. Jennifer Nettles is stepping down and Reba is stepping up to host the annual CMA Country Christmas special. The program will be taped in Nashville, TN at the Grand Ole Opry House on November 14th, and then later brodacast on November 27th on ABC. REBA MCENTIRE will host the eighth annual “CMA COUNTRY CHRISTMAS” program, to be taped on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14th at the GRAND OLE OPRY HOUSE in NASHVILLE. The show will then air as a two-hour holiday special MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27th at 8p (ET) on ABC-TV.

Clint Black, Kane Brown, Luke Combs To Appear On ‘Front And Center’ Country artist CLINT BLACK, RCA NASHVILLE’s KANE BROWN, and RIVER HOUSE/COLUMBIA NASHVILLE’s LUKE COMBS will be featured in two upcoming episodes of PBS-TV’s “Front And Center” early next YEAR. The episodes are part of the “CMA SONGWRITERS SERIES,” one of which includes BLACK’s performance, and the other showcases BROWN’s and COMBS’ performances. Both episodes will also share the stories behind the artists’ biggest hits with the songwriters who wrote them.
It seems that the resurgence of so-called outlaw country artists like Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson have put the pressure on the major labels to answer with an artist of their own that fits the bill. Enter Big Machine Label Group’s soulful and spirited contender Alex Williams. With a major press push behind his debut release “Better Than Myself”, Big Machine is betting big dollars that at least a good portion of country music fans are ready to let go of the bros and go back to the roots of our genre’s sound.
