Oak Ridge Boys Sang For President George Bush While He Is Being Hospitalized. The Oak Ridge Boys have had many requests throughout their career, but a few days ago that got one they would never forget. President George Bush has been hospitalized for over a month and Barbara thought a call from the Oak Ridge Boys would be just the thing to lift his spirits. “Friday, The Oak Ridge Boys received the daily report from President Bush (41’s) staff. The report of his health was that he was improving each day. Then, we received another message, Barbara Bush requested that we call the President and sing to him! All of the Oak Ridge Boys are on vacation, but we all headed to our office upon hearing of this request. We called the President and sang for him. He asked to hear Elvira, so we sang that for him, and then we sang one verse of Amazing Grace.” – Duane Allen, The Oak Ridge Boys It is great to hear the President Bush is doing better and that the Oak Ridge Boys brightened his day!

The Dixie Chicks Rejoin Country, Headline 2013 Craven Country Jamboree In Canada. Looks like the country scene is (finally) ready to welcome back The Dixie Chicks into the country music fold. The talented and dynamic trio will be headlining the upcoming 2013 Craven Country Jamboree, an annual country music festival held in Craven, Saskatchewan (Canada). The Dixie Chicks will be replacing the originally scheduled Lady Antebellum who have pulled out of several summer commitments since announcing Hillary Scott’s pregnancy. “We knew we had to find something extra special to replace Lady Antebellum when the band canceled their summer dates due to Hilary Scott’s pregnancy. We are extremely excited that we can offer a taste of country music royalty to the Craven Country Jamboree. Taylor Swift Tops The List of Most Giving Celebrities of 2012. Sure, we all spend a lot of time talking about Taylor Swift and her romances, and of course, her music, which consistently tops charts in country and beyond. Yet, this time Taylor has topped an entirely different, more charitable chart. Turns out, TSwift has taken all that notoriety and money she’s been earning, and used it for good. For 2012, the 23 year old singer tops the list of the most giving celebrities according to dosomething.org. This year Taylor gave the largest sum ever to Nashville’s Country Hall of Fame Museum to the tune of $4 million! She was also the youngest winner of the Ripple of Hope Award which honors leaders in the community demonstrating a “commitment to social change.” Swift also spends time and money supporting the battle against cancer for young people. So, let’s all just take a collective moment, and appreciate the fact, despite what you might think about her relationship status or musical skills, TSwift is one of the folks willing to give back when she wins big. I’ll tip my hat to that.

Matt Still Appears On Fox & Friends On Christmas Eve. Matt Stillwell will be appearing live on Fox & Friends to premiere his Christmas single, “Our Christmas,” from the new holiday album Muddy Christmas. The performance will air on the FOX News Channel on Monday, December 24. Stillwell will sing a second song for online viewers of Fox & Friends “After The Show Show” segment, but has not yet revealed which holiday classic he will perform. He is leaving that song choice up to his fans. Stillwell tweeted and asked followers what their favorite Christmas song was. “I have a few of my favorites I’d like to sing, but I thought it would be fun to find out what my fans would like to hear on Christmas Eve. I have to say, my fans do have good taste. I have not decided yet, so guess everyone will have to tune in and see!” Stillwell recently signed with new management, Rusted Truck Ranch, and has lots to look forward to in the New Year with album plans in the works.

This will happen before the Packers take on the Tennessee Titans. CBS will air the game from Lambeau Field at 12:00pm CST.
