Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will Perform Remind Me at CMA Awards! The November 9th, 2011 CMA Awards show will officially mark the first live performance of Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood‘s duet Remind Me! So, this is turning out to be quite a busy night for both Paisley and Underwood! In addition to this performance, don’t forget that the pair are reprising last year’s role as hosts for the award show. Also, Paisley has been nominated in a total of five categories and Carrie is nominated for the female vocalist category! I hope they both get plenty of rest the night before the show! CMA Announces First Performers

First Round of Performers for 2011 CMA Awards Announced! The 45th Annual CMA Awards are quickly approaching, and there is much chatter all over the industry about all the details from nominations to possible performances to this year’s hosts! We heard weeks ago that Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be reprising their roles of host from the 2010 CMA Awards, and the nominations for all twelve categories were announced just a week or so ago. (Click here to see more on the nominations!) Now, slowly but surely, the list of performers anticipated for the show are starting to be announced as well. We just got news of the first round of performances confirmed, and I do not think you will be disappointed! All five of the artists nominated in the “Entertainer of the Year” category, and this includes Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban. Also of note, four of the nominees, basically everyone except Keith Urban, all earned five nominations this year! The 2011 CMA Awards will take place on November 9th, and air on ABC at 8PM ET. Tickets for the 45th Annual CMA Awards go on sale on Saturday, September 24th at 10:00AM CT.

New TV Series Troubadour TX

Troubadour, TX, A New Doc-Style Music TV Series Debuts Soon! Dallas based London Broadcasting and 41 Entertainment have joined forces to bring music fans a brand new reality documentary style music series title “Troubadour, TX“. The series will focus on twelve singers and songwriters as they attempt to build their musical careers in the Lone Star State. The series will feature artists from multiple genres of music including Country, Americana, Blues, and Rock among others, and will provide a behind-the-scenes perspective into the lives and growing careers of the featured artists. Episodes are filmed on location in Texas as the TTX production crews tirelessly follow the featured singers and songwriters on the road and at home. This series promises to provide a fresher perspective and grittier insight into the daily grind of the fledgling musician that you simply will not find on shows like CMT’s Next Superstar or American Idol. Opry Live Returns to GAC

Grand Ole Opry Returns to TV with Opry Live On GAC. The Grand Ole Opry will be making a return to television with a line-up of six star-studded episodes of “Opry Live” on GAC this fall. The first of the six episodes, and 80th birthday commemoration for George Jones, will be airing on October 4th and will include performances by Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Lee Ann Womack and others. Other episodes will include performances by a string of country favorites like Trace Adkins, Lauren Alaina, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Ronnie Dunn, Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, LeAnn Rimes, Randy Travis, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood and more. Airdates and details on the other five shows will be announced at a later date. So, make sure you catch the first episode on October 4th and stay tuned for more details. I mean if you can’t make it to Nashville to see these types of performances live, I guess the next best thing would be watching them in the comfort of your own home.

Trace Adkins Featured on the Next Episode of CMT’s Invitation Only. Trace Adkins will be featured on the next episode of the concert series “Invitation Only” set to air on CMT on Sunday, September 25th. This performance series is a pre-taped show which showcases country’s superstars in an special performance in front of a small live audience. Adkins’ episode will feature performances of “You’re Gonna Miss This”, “Songs About Me” and “Hot Mama“, as well as “Million Dollar View” and “Just Fishin’” off his latest album, Proud to Be Here. This episode will also include a questions and answer session with fans where Adkins’ reveals little known tidbits about himself like his most embarrassing moment and which of his songs he would like to be remembered by. Reba McEntire New Sitcom

Reba Is All Set to Start Up A New Sitcom, Malibu Country! Reba McEntire has officially confirmed rumors via Facebook that she is in talks to start-up a new sitcom! Reports indicate that ABC has bought the script for the new show which will be titled Malibu Country. The story concept involves a mother of three who divorces who rock star husband and relocates from Nashville to Malibu. If all goes well, a pilot episode will be shot this April. From there, it will be up to the network as to whether or not to option the show for production. “I’m so excited about doing another TV sitcom. I miss the Reba show so much so it will be great to get back into the TV world again.” -Reba McEntire If the project does move forward as Reba hopes it does, the production team would include WB’s Reba executive producer, Kevin Abbott, Reba and her husband/manager Narvel Blackstock, among others. I personally loved the Reba show, and I would be excited to see what else this team could come up with! Here’s hoping the project gets pushed through.

Vince Gill and Sting Collaborate on CMT Crossroads

Vince Gill and Sting Team Up in Next Episode of CMT Crossroads. The newest episode of CMT: Crossroads two of the music industries veteran talents, Vince Gill and Sting will be teaming up for what is sure to be an unforgettable collaboration. The CMT Crossroads team is heading to NYC (after not having taped there for over five years) for this particular episode, and will tape the segment in front of an invitation-only crowd. “We are long overdue for a CMT CROSSROADS taping in New York City. Some of our best shows ever were taped there, and this will be no exception. These are two Hall of Famers who, by our count, have 36 Grammys between them…This is going to be an unforgettable evening.” -John Hamlin, SVP, Music Events and Talent, CMT Both of the artists are hugely popular, and rightly so, as they are both extremely talented in their own right. They will both perform their classic hits in addition to selections from their releases which are due to debut this fall. I for one and very curious to see how these two match up musically. Americana Awards Show Gets National Coverage

10th Annual Americana Association Honors and Awards Show Get National TV Coverage. The 10th Annual Americana Association Honors and Awards Show (whew! that’s a mouthful!) will be airing live Thursday, October 13th from the Ryman in Nashville on Nashville Public Television which reaches the Middle Tennessee viewing area. Additionally this year however, an edited version of the live show will be televised on Wednesday, October 19th on Austin City Limits which airs on PBS as “ACL Presents: Americana Music Fesstival 2011” (you can check local listings for times). Understandably, the AMA is excited to have the opportunity to receive national coverage this time around. “It was time to bring the Americana Honors to another level. We could not have better partners in Nashville Public Television President and CEO Beth Curley for our Middle Tennessee premiere and Austin City Limits Executive Producer Terry Lickona to take this to a national audience.” -Jed Hilly Executive Director of the Americana Music Association The show is one part of the Americana Music Festival and Conference presented this year by Nissan that will take place October 12th through 15th in Nashville. In related news, “Americana” is now officially recognized as a word by Merriam-Webster! So, the AMA has lots of reasons to be excited this year!

Jennifer Nettles Hosts CMA Christmas Special

Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland Will Host 2011 CMA Country Christmas Special! For the second consecutive year, the Country Music Association is bringing together country stars to help celebrate the holidays with their own memories and stories as well as performances with the CMA Country Christmas television special. Just like last year, Jennifer Nettles, one half of the duo Sugarland, will be hosting this special holiday event. “I love holiday traditions and am so excited to add hosting CMA Country Christmas to my new list of traditions now. I’m gonna have to up my game this second time around, so I’m putting Brad and Carrie on speed dial for hosting emergency consulting services.” -Jennifer Nettles The special will be taped on November 10th (the day after the CMA Awards!) at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
