The Dixie Chicks Rejoin Country, Headline 2013 Craven Country Jamboree In Canada. Looks like the country scene is (finally) ready to welcome back The Dixie Chicks into the country music fold. The talented and dynamic trio will be headlining the upcoming 2013 Craven Country Jamboree, an annual country music festival held in Craven, Saskatchewan (Canada). The Dixie Chicks will be replacing the originally scheduled Lady Antebellum who have pulled out of several summer commitments since announcing Hillary Scott’s pregnancy. “We knew we had to find something extra special to replace Lady Antebellum when the band canceled their summer dates due to Hilary Scott’s pregnancy. We are extremely excited that we can offer a taste of country music royalty to the Craven Country Jamboree. And it won’t be a regular show – not only will our fans see Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, the three original members, this is a greatest hits package. The Craven date will be one of the only opportunities fans of the band will have to see them live. This is an incredibly special moment for Chicks fans and the Craven Country Jamboree. This is the biggest, deepest lineup of any festival in Canada. We always strive to bring something for everyone from the biggest names in country music, to the best Canadian acts, to amazing classic country, all at the lowest price.” -Kim Blevins, director of marketing The Dixie Chicks will be performing as the Saturday, July 13th headliners, and are joining the likes of Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Randy Travis and more! Taylor Swift Most Giving Celebrity of 2012

Taylor Swift Tops The List of Most Giving Celebrities of 2012. Sure, we all spend a lot of time talking about Taylor Swift and her romances, and of course, her music, which consistently tops charts in country and beyond. Yet, this time Taylor has topped an entirely different, more charitable chart. Turns out, TSwift has taken all that notoriety and money she’s been earning, and used it for good. For 2012, the 23 year old singer tops the list of the most giving celebrities according to dosomething.org. This year Taylor gave the largest sum ever to Nashville’s Country Hall of Fame Museum to the tune of $4 million! She was also the youngest winner of the Ripple of Hope Award which honors leaders in the community demonstrating a “commitment to social change.” Swift also spends time and money supporting the battle against cancer for young people. So, let’s all just take a collective moment, and appreciate the fact, despite what you might think about her relationship status or musical skills, TSwift is one of the folks willing to give back when she wins big. I’ll tip my hat to that.

Meet New On The Scene, Duo Moonshine Bandits – Exclusive Interview! Take some Johnny Cash and add little bit of the Beastie Boys, and you have The Moonshine Bandits! Although, you can’t really compare them to anyone because obviously, they are in a lane all to itself. Tex & Bird are two California boys just trying to make a name for themselves in the world of music. What genre you ask? Well, it’s safe to say they’re avoiding labels and have decided to do things their own way. Their music is country with a hip hop flavor, and that’s just how they like it. Their video “My Kind Of Country” made it to the #1 spot on CMT, and the fellas have also reached the No. 65 spot on the Country Billboard charts. I refer to their music as “cali country” or “country hip hop.”, I enjoy it because I feel it’s real. They’re just being who they want to be. They work hard and play even harder, and that’s heard in most of their music. So, I decided to ask the boys a few questions so we can get to know them better, check it out below. How do you know each other? We went to high school together in a small town called Los Banos, California. What genre do you consider yourself? There is no genre for our style of music……Yet. How long have you been performing together? Since 1999 we started performing at house parties and country parties. How many tattoos do you have? Way too many to count. We have a sponsorship deal with Dos Changos Locos Tattoo in Modesto, California. Whenever we find free time, we pop in there and they hook us up. They have very talented artists and they are like family to us. What do you usually do in your free time? We bbq, spend time with our familiy or visit our Shiners Bar we just opened. We don’t have much free time really. What artists influenced you growing up? Beastie Boys, Kid Rock, Johnny Cash, a lot of West Coast Hiphop as well. Is there anything you want the world to know about the Moonshine Bandits? Yes, there is a huge family that is growing world wide and it’s known as Shiner Nation. It’s a group of loyal people that has helped our career crush obstacles and we are forever grateful for them. Come join the Shiner Nation family and see that the hype will become a reality for you as well. The Moonshine Bandits are nothing short of rowdy outlaws that like to party!
