Meet the Moonshine Bandits: Interview

Meet New On The Scene, Duo Moonshine Bandits – Exclusive Interview! Take some Johnny Cash and add little bit of the Beastie Boys, and you have The Moonshine Bandits! Although, you can’t really compare them to anyone because obviously, they are in a lane all to itself. Tex & Bird are two California boys just trying to make a name for themselves in the world of music. What genre you ask? Well, it’s safe to say they’re avoiding labels and have decided to do things their own way. Their music is country with a hip hop flavor, and that’s just how they like it. Their video “My Kind Of Country” made it to the #1 spot on CMT, and the fellas have also reached the No. 65 spot on the Country Billboard charts. I refer to their music as “cali country” or “country hip hop.”, I enjoy it because I feel it’s real. They’re just being who they want to be. They work hard and play even harder, and that’s heard in most of their music. So, I decided to ask the boys a few questions so we can get to know them better, check it out below. How do you know each other? We went to high school together in a small town called Los Banos, California. What genre do you consider yourself? There is no genre for our style of music……Yet. How long have you been performing together? Since 1999 we started performing at house parties and country parties. How many tattoos do you have? Way too many to count. We have a sponsorship deal with Dos Changos Locos Tattoo in Modesto, California. Whenever we find free time, we pop in there and they hook us up. They have very talented artists and they are like family to us. What do you usually do in your free time? We bbq, spend time with our familiy or visit our Shiners Bar we just opened. We don’t have much free time really. What artists influenced you growing up? Beastie Boys, Kid Rock, Johnny Cash, a lot of West Coast Hiphop as well. Is there anything you want the world to know about the Moonshine Bandits? Yes, there is a huge family that is growing world wide and it’s known as Shiner Nation. It’s a group of loyal people that has helped our career crush obstacles and we are forever grateful for them. Come join the Shiner Nation family and see that the hype will become a reality for you as well. The Moonshine Bandits are nothing short of rowdy outlaws that like to party! So, for all you party animals out there be sure to join Shiner Nation at If you haven’t had a chance to check out their music, I would totally recommend it. It’s wild, crazy and has plenty of personality! Watch their video for “My Kind Of Country” below, and hear for yourself. Moonshine Bandits, “My Kind Of Country” Official Video.

Listen: Ashley Monroe New Song Use

Listen to Ashley Monroe’s New Song “Use” From Upcoming Album. To the delight of country music fans, Ashley Monroe (of the Pistol Annies) recently announced that she will be releasing a new solo album, Like A Rose, in 2013. Notably, the new album is co-produced by Vince Gill and Justin Niebank and all the tracks were co-written by Ashley! Now, the date has changed since we last talked about it, and it will now be debuting on March 5th via Warner Nashville. Luckily though, Monroe is more than willing to keep giving little tastes of what is to come. The most recent sample from the album is her single, “Use“, that is beautifully mournful and heartbreakingly relatable. If this tune is any indication of what to expect from the rest of the record…well, let’s just say I can’t wait! Hear it for yourself below! Listen: Ashley Monroe’s “Use”. Be sure to check out Monroe’s title track from the album as well!

Phil Vassar Santa’s Gone Hollywood Video

The Official Music Video For Phil Vassar’s “Santa’s Gone Hollywood.” This Christmas original comes from Phil Vassar’s Christmas album, Noel. “Santa’s Gone Hollywood” describes a much different Santa, that most aren’t familiar with. He is in a band, has a reality show, takes blue pills and smokes the natural stuff. This is not what I’d call traditional, but Vassar does have some of those tunes on Noel. I’m not really a fan of this song, but I will say it gets stuck in your head easily. We want to know what you think of this song and video. So watch and comment below.

I love it when artists give great interviews, and Lynch is clearly already a pro! He’s super endearing and funny, and I’m sure all you Dustin fans are going to love this video! Since the release, “Cowboys and Angels,” is nearing platinum sales status and has surpassed over 4 million views on YouTube/ VEVO.! He’s soared to #1 on the MTV Music Meter, earned a #1 ringtone on CMT, a Top 5 on the Billboard Heatseekers Songs Chart, and a #2 Country radio single.

He is even one of Billboard’s “Most Anticipated Debuts of 2012,” People Country’s “Fresh Faces,” Country Weekly’s “Ones to Watch in 2012,” and the only solo male artist on Nashville Lifestyles’ 2012 “Hot List.” People magazine recently called Lynch’s #1 self-titled album “one of the year’s best debuts.” Lynch was recently profiled in USA Today as an “On the Verge” artist.
