Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now…Help Now”

Taylor Swift Invites Fans to Special Rehearsal to Benefit Tornado Victims. Taylor Swift has announced she will be opening the doors for the first time ever to the last dress rehearsal of her Speak Now Tour as a fundraiser to benefit victims of last week’s tornadoes. This event will allow 13,000 fans to get a sneak peak a whole week earlier than the first tour date of Taylor’s North American leg of the Speak Now tour which kicks off in Omaha, Nebraska May 27th. “I was watching the coverage of the tornadoes backstage at rehearsals, and I wanted to do something for the families affected by the damage. I’ve never opened a rehearsal to the public before, but I felt that inviting my fans to the last rehearsal for the Speak Now Tour would be a great way to raise money. We’ll probably still be doing some fine-tuning to the show that night, since this will be a true rehearsal, but I feel like it is so important for me and my fans to help if we can.” -Taylor Swift Taylor is calling this special concert “Speak Now…Help Now!” and it will take place May 21st at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Ticket information and event details will be available and update by Monday, May 9th, you can check it out by clicking here. All of the money raised from tickets sales will go to the victims dealing with the aftermath of the storms. Bravo to Taylor, and all the other members of the country music community (Reba, Blake, Hank Williams Jr and others) who have taken that extra step to help those in their time of need. Well, done.

Eric Church’s New Album

Eric Church Announces Release Date for Upcoming Album. Eric Church has announced his new album, Chief, will be released July 26th. Already receiving critical praise, this marks Eric’s third studio album, and it will be available nationwide on this date. Eric took a little time off from the world (a whole month at a cabin in North Carolina!), and really slowed down to get into the creative mode to produce this album which he later recorded in Nashville. With Chief, Eric was really trying to stretch his creative boundaries and at the same time remain relevant. “I have a theory that all of us [artists] only get a small window of time to make records when people will really listen and care. It’s up to us to move the needle. People like Waylon and Cash or Garth and Strait,– they all took the format and said, ‘We’re going over here,’ and they each changed the direction of the music a little bit– helping to make it what it is today.” -Eric Church Keep an eye out for the album, but while you’re waiting you can check out Eric’s new video for “Homeboy” which will be available Monday, May 9th!

Ashton Shepherd “I’m Just A Woman” Video

Ashton Shepherd Shares Special Mother’s Day Video. Ashton Shepherd is offering a special acoustic version of “I’m Just A Woman” to honor Mother’s Day. It is clearly a song for women, taking a perspective on the challenges in life that are particularly unique to them. Ashton especially has insight into this perspective as she is a mother herself with a 5-year old son and her second child due in September! (Congrats, Ashton!). “I wrote that one by myself. I opened my diary, and I got to an entry where I was writing about feeling kind of bad, empty and sad. Right after that, I’d written, ‘Well, I guess I’m just being a woman.’ When I read that, I underlined it…The song doesn’t bash the man. It’s kind of saying, ‘Buddy, I understand you pretty much 99 percent of the time. I need you to understand me, too, sometimes because I know I can be hard to deal with…I think it gives women a lot of credit. I think about our mommas…I feel like I’ve written an anthem for them.” -Ashton Shepherd “I’m Just A Woman” is featured on Ashton’s upcoming album, Where Country Grows, set to release July 12th. You can check out this special video here. [youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPrbv8RCyfk]

Shawna Russell’s New Video

Shawna Russell’s New Video: “Get Right or Get Left”. Oklahoma native Shawna Russell originally hit the scene in 2008 with the release of her debut album, Goddess, which received a fair amount of positive attention, enough at least to get her on the circuit. She is currently working on her sophmore album, Shawna Russell, due out later this year, and she premiered the video for her latest single, “Get Right or Get Left” just this morning. The song is fun and lively, voicing a woman’s lost patience with a deadbeat man, and it does showcase her vocal and writing talents. She and director Mark Nicolosi clearly tried to make a video that would match the spirit of the song. “I had a great time making this video. Director Mark Nicolosi had such a unique vision for telling the story in the song. He helped visually capture the attitude of the music and assertive feeling of the lyrics.” -Shawna Russell I disagree with Shawna here, though. I think the song is sassy and endearing, but the video does not adequately capture this; something is just off. The setting is awkward and distracting with Shawna singing in the background and the “stories” taking place on the same set. It is also campy and overacted. I can see the creative angle they were going for, but I just don’t think they quite made it. I hope next time Shawna does her music justice by releasing a better video. Watch the video here and let me know what ya’ll think!

Osage Creek Amphitheater in NW Arkansas

CMNB would like to welcome the new Osage Creek Amphitheater to Northwest Arkansas! While the brand new Osage Creek Amphitheater is still under construction, the buzz around the new 15,000+ capacity music venue is so loud it’s making my ears ring! This outdoor amphitheater, nestled in the base of the Ozark foothills near Springdale, Arkansas, is the most well-thought-out state of the art venues our staff here has EVER seen, and coming from us, that says a lot! Greg Smith, the owner, operator, and lifeblood behind the venue’s construction has taken the time to consider every single aspect from fan experience all the way to stagehands convenience. Here are some of the nitty gritty dirty details on what I think will be the best summer music venue in our region! Facts about the Osage Creek Amphitheater: For the fans: The Osage Creek Amphitheater is absolutely enormous, seating almost as many people as BOK center, and far more than any other music venue in the area. Seating capacity can vary depending on the type of concert/festival, but in general it breaks down as follows: 150 VIP Seats 650 Orchestra (pit) Seats 1600 Terrace Seats 3500 Bleacher Seats 6,000 to 10,000 Lawn Capacity Osage Creek Amphitheater Seating Chart The amphitheater is located just 3 miles north of highway 412, making it convenient to residents of Fayetteville, Tulsa, Ft. Smith, Rogers, Springdale, Kansas City, Little Rock, and all the smaller surrounding towns. With many hotel and dining options in nearby Siloam Springs and Springdale, it’s easy to find lodging and services for those that are traveling a little further to see their favorite artists. They’re also just 20 minutes away from the XNA airport, adding even more convenience! Now let’s talk VIP – During our discussions about the venue, Greg made it a clear point that if you’re going to pay for VIP tickets, you’re going to need some VIP perks, and boy did he deliver! Besides best-in-house seating, the venue also features closer VIP parking, VIP concessions, VIP restroom facilities, and even a special mezzanine level which is ON STAGE so you don’t miss a single detail of the show! Don’t have the cash for VIP? Don’t worry, because Greg has made sure the venue was designed with convenience and show experience in mind. With concessions conveniently placed between seating levels, you don’t have to miss part of the show by waiting in line somewhere in the back 40. They’ve also worked in the perfect angles for all the seating, and even a 70 foot high stage opening so the highest seats still have a close and clear view of all the action! And speaking of seas, did I mention they’re bringing in the same style seats that are being used in the top-of-the-line Dallas Cowboys stadium? To top it all off, the amphitheater is being built in a natural bowl shape in the land, surrounded by beautiful rock bluffs, creeks, trees, and the best views in all creation. The icing on Continue reading Osage Creek Amphitheater in NW Arkansas
