Little Big Town Get Second Number One with Tornado

Little Big Town Success Continues with Second Number One from Tornado Album! Since they’re fun summer time single “Pontoon” earned Little Big Town their first career number one hit single, this foursome has been on a roll! They swept the 2012 CMA Awards with wins for Single of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year, and have multiple nominations for the upcoming 2013 ACM Awards including Album of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Video of the Year, and Single Record of the Year. So, it should come as no surprise that LBT has earned their second #1 for the Tornado title track! What I love about these two number one hits is that together they demonstrate the range that Little Big Town features on Tornado. It is a complex and diverse album, and both these hits are well deserved. Additionally, the group recently sold-out their very first headlining show at the Ryman Auditorium adding to the 21 already sold out dates on their current 2013 Tornado Tour. You can find Little Big Town on the road again later this summer when they join Keith Urban‘s 2013 Tour with special guest Dustin Lynch.

Justin Moore Interview

Justin Moore Talks Heroes, Tours and New Music. I got the chance to have a quick chat with Justin Moore on the phone yesterday. We caught up on this nasty weather we are dealing with here in Arkansas before we got to business, Fayetteville and surrounding areas were getting some of that thundersleet. Luckily Moore didn’t have to deal with any of the mess cause he was sitting pretty in Panama City. He’s in the Sunshine State for the Daytona 500 this Sunday. Moore is going to give a special concert at 10 a.m. at the Crown Royal footprint before the race to launch the inaugural “Your Heroes Name Here” program. The Crown Royal program is a chance to have naming rights to the Brickyard 400 that is held in July. Anyone who is 21+ can go to CrownRoyalHeroes.com and nominate their personal hero. Moore will be officially nominating two local Florida heroes who are making a difference in their communities. When I asked Moore what heroes of his he might nominate if he could he said there were a lot of people. But one that stood out was his grandpa who passed away. “He retired out of the military and was the cornerstone of our family. He showed me how to raise a family and taught me how to be a husband and dad.” I asked Moore who he was routing for Sunday and he said he always wants his buddy Carl Edwards to do well, but his gut was telling him Tony Stewart. “He’s got a good car and feel like it’s his time, but its anybody’s game.“ Moore is a huge NASCAR fan and has a real respect for what the guys and girls do out on the track. He is excited to be a part of the Crown Royal campaign and to watch the race. “I’ve been to a lot of races, but never Daytona. I’m knocking tracks off my bucket list.” We also got to talk about Moore’s exciting tour news. After finishing up Eric Church’s Blood, Sweat and Beer Tour, Moore is hitting the road again, but this time as the headliner! “We’re really excited! I’ve learned a lot from being out on the road with other people and have got to play in front of tons of folks. It’s kind of scary and exciting at the same time, if it goes bad it’s all my fault. But it’s going to be a lot of fun.” The Outlaws Like Me Tour will begin March 14, with Dustin Lynch and Jon Pardi as opening acts. Moore will also be a part of the first-ever Thunder On The Mountain country music festival. The festival is taking place in his home-state and is sure to be three days full of great music. “Anytime I can play at home and sleep in my bed is good! I’m sure I’ll have a lot of family and friends there. The festivals are always a lot of fun.” Moore will be Continue reading Justin Moore Interview

Dustin Lynch: Live Show Review

Dustin Lynch Proves He’s The Real Deal with Live Performance at George’s Majestic Lounge In Fayetteville, AR. When I first heard Dustin Lynch‘s debut album, I knew I just had to see him live. I was primarily curious to see if he would be as good live as he is on his record. After seeing his recent performance in front of a packed crowd at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, AR, I can honestly tell you that Lynch is even better in person! This talented young man has charisma coming out of his ears, and he really knows how to work a crowd. The audience that night came for a good time, and boy did they get it! Well-Rounded Set of Great Music! Of course it really doesn’t hurt that straight out of the gate, Dustin has an album of fourteen tracks that are sure to please a crowd. Playing upbeat tunes like his current feisty single, “She Cranks My Tractor,” and the sassy “Wild In Your Smile,” and then slowing it down with songs like the bittersweet “Hurricane” and the subtly sexy “Sittin’ Pretty,” Lynch had a song for everybody. Besides playing his own music though, he had a few covers to offer up like a great rendition Garth Brooks’ classic “Friends In Low Places.” He kept the energy in the high straight through the end, and finished things up with his hit “Cowboys and Angels” that had everyone singing along, and all the young women in the room swooning (though to be fair, they were pretty smitten during the entire concert!). Concert Had a Great Energy! Besides having a well rounded set though, Lynch didn’t hold back on interacting with audience members which added to the energy of the show. Whether he was handing out cold beer from the stage or pulling guys and gals from the audience on stage for an impromptu dance contest of sorts, Dustin made sure the whole concert felt like a party! From beginning to end, things never lagged and it was a night that fans were sure to remember. As a matter of fact, I was in line at George’s just this past weekend for another show, and folks were still talking about Lynch’s show. I’d say he left some kind of a good impression! All Signs Point to a Great Guy! Besides all that, even after the concert had finished up Dustin was still willing to give his time to his fans. Guys and girls lined up to take pictures and greet their new favorite country artist, and he took the time to meet each and everyone of them. I’m talking over an hour of taking photos and shaking hands after giving such an energetic show, and this country newbie was just as warm and friendly to the last as he was to the first. I can’t promise that fans will get similar chances after every show, but it’s clear the Lynch cares about his fans and is willing to repay Continue reading Dustin Lynch: Live Show Review

Dustin Lynch Interview: Talks First Album, Recent Success and What’s Up Next

MissMolly Chats with Dustin Lynch About His Eventful Year, Working On His Album,  What’s In Store Next and More! Earlier this afternoon, I got the chance to chat via phone with country newbie, Dustin Lynch, and I gotta say, I was digging his sound before and now I really am a full blown fan! Lynch is down to earth, gracious, and quite honestly shows every sign of being the real deal. There’s no doubt that we’re going to keep seeing and hearing more from this talented young man in the future. So, take a couple minutes and get to know him a little better below with excerpts from our chat! Cheers! Interview with Dustin Lynch: Dustin shared a little bit about the recording process, telling me that he worked with his two producers, Brett Beavers and Luke Wooten who are also two of his buddies, for three years on his debut album. There were a lot of long days, long nights and long weeks, but ultimately they came up with an end result that they were satisfied with. “We’re super proud of the sound we got off this album. I’m not an artist that’s gonna have just a couple hits and then filler songs. Top to bottom its gonna be solid.” Creating such a great album (my words, Lynch proved to be very humble when I praised his work!) right out the gate definitely takes a lot of hard work, and Dustin shared that he approached creating songs and the album a lot of different ways. “With songwriting it really depends. A lot of my writing I try to find the melody and phrasing that works with it. We might go, hey here’s a hook, and then we’ll start banging around on what music fits that, and then it kind of falls into place. With “Cowboys and Angels” that was a lyric that came first not the whole song but some pretty decent lines. Then we sat and  thought what could make this an epic love song? And we got that guitar riff and off it went. With “She Cranks My Tractor” we tried to get something up beat, but the song is really built out of that line, “She’s ten pounds of sugar in a five pound sack.” It set the tone for that song. But it happens different ways. If we find something we think is a hit, we try to work it out.“ There are 13 tracks on the album, and I tried to get Lynch to choose a favorite. It shouldn’t be surprising that that was a tall order from the young man that wrote or co-wrote ten of the songs off the record, and clearly put so much love and sweat into it. While he couldn’t pick a favorite, he did have this to say: There are a couple I love to do live. Though, “Your Plan” is my most personal song…I was getting kicked around pretty hard in Nashville, the business can be hard.
