Willie Nelson took a little time out of his day to extend an invitation to everyone to attend the July 3rd concert at the new Osage Creek Amphitheater in Siloam Springs, Arkansas! This is a brand new concert space still under construction, and the July 3rd concert will mark it’s first event! The concert is part of Willie Nelson’s Country Throwdown tour. Grand Ole Opry Star-studded Play On, Nashville Marks Anniversary of 2010 Floods The Grand Ole Opry is offering up a star-studded concert event, Play On, Nashville, at the Opry House on May 3rd, which signals the one year anniversary of last spring’s floods which tore through Nashville, devastating much of the city. The event will include performances by Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Charles Daniels Band and more. “The May 2010 flood devastated homes, businesses, and lives, but it also showcased the unsinkable spirit of our city and its citizens in ways we are still learning about a year later. We want to celebrate that the Opry’s hometown is stronger than ever the best way we know how— with a one-of-a-kind night of great music.” -Pete Fisher, Opry vice president and general manager Beyond showcasing and celebrating the determination and grit of the folks in Nashville proceeds from this concert will go to help those who are still recovering. Organizations including Hands On Nashville, the American Red Cross, and United Way of Metropolitan Nashville will provide promotion codes to their supporters such that $10 from every ticket purchased using the codes will be returned to the charity. Also, there will be commemorative prints available only at the Opry House the night of the concert whose proceeds will also go to Hands On Nashville. Martina’s McBride’s “Teenage Daughters” Video Adds Depth to Lyrics. Martina McBride‘s new single “Teenage Daughters” released earlier this year, and now the video is available. The song realistically treats the trials of parenthood, and the video definitely adds an additional layer of meaning and substance to the song. It is not a stylized video instead opting for documentary-style footage featuring Martina working on the album in the studio as well as interactions with her family, especially, of course, her daughters. The choice to have her own family in the video as opposed to casting actors and setting up an imaginary scene really does promote the realistic this-is-every-day-living quality so appreciated by country fans. It truly seems this song is coming from a real place that viewers are sure to relate to. Check out the video now. Thompson Square’s “I Got You” Video Is Here Thompson Square rocked the country scene with their hit, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not“, and it looks like they’ve got another hit on their hands with “I Got You“. The video for the song is available and you can check it out here. The video for “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” definitely showed a more serious side of the duo, while “I Got You” is letting fans see a little of their quirky and humorous side. Each half of the husband and wife duo play multiple characters in this throw back to the Sonny and Cher days. It’s absolutely adorable, and they definitely got me. Check it out now. American Idol: Lauren Alaina VS Scotty McCreery

American Idol’s Country Singers: Lauren Alaina versus Scotty McCreery Okay, American Idol fans, tonight is elimination night and one more contestant will be out of the running. There are still seven talented individuals in it to win it, but let’s be on honest, there are only two we really care about around here: Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery. Both are country, both have been kept in by fans up until this point, and both are loved by the judges, so who would it be saddest to lose tonight? It’s a good question, and in my mind, there’s a very simple answer: Lauren. I’m sure there are those who would disagree, but because of her talent and lovableness, Alaina is my pick for winnner! It isn’t that Scotty is devoid of talent, I just think that in comparison to Alaina, Lauren is more of the “whole package” that McCreery is. Lauren has a brighter and more engaging stage presence. She sings, and you get lost in her performance. She absolutely gives it her all, and her personality shines through every single time. Scotty, on the other hand, doesn’t do much more than sway on stage. Lauren has plenty of confidence while also being relatable. Scotty also possesses confidence, but to me he come across as more smug than down to earth. A good way to gauge the divide between Lauren and Scotty is by seeing them sing together. Sugarland Releases New Video

Sugarland Releases Video for Hit Song “Tonight” Sugarland‘s new video for their hit song “Tonight” is now available on iTunes. Also, AOL will begin streaming the video tomorrow, April 21st! The song as well as the video channels the emotion and angst from 80’s classic films like Pretty In Pink and The Breakfast Club, and was shot at the Woolworth Mansion in New York City to increase the drama and emotion Nettles and Bush were trying to express. The video is sure to be just as popular the song which has been received overwhelmingly well among fans. “This song is an event every night we play it. When Jennifer gets to the first big ‘Always’ and holds it forever, and the band finally kicks in, and the electric guitars rumble to life under her note, it really turns the room into a stadium. I love how the audience start to cheer and scream and how that energy carries us and the song to a new place. It makes a man want to play guitar!” says Bush of performing “Tonight” live. Miranda Lambert’s New All Girl Trio: Pistol Annies. Miranda Lambert spoke openly earlier this month about her venture: an all girl trio! The Pistol Annies features Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe, and they will have their debut performance on CBS, Friday April 22nd on ACM’s Girls’ Night Out television special. Not to fret Miranda fans, she will not be abandoning her solo career, but will simply be adding to it! Miranda is fulfilling the desire to work with an all girl group while channeling some excess creative energy! “They’re both artists on their own and they’re great friends of mine. We’ve just been writing songs like crazy, and I always wanted to do a girl project. It’s not your typical girl trio. We definitely have an edge. Jeff Bridges Signs Record Deal

Jeff Bridges Signs with Blue Note Records. Oscar winning actor and talented musician Jeff Bridges has signed with EMI’s Blue Note Records with a new album due out this summer. Bridges has been all over the map talent wise for years, but you probably would recognize him from his most recent films, Crazy Heart, in which he played a downtrodden country singer and True Grit in which he is featured as a tough time-worn U.S. Marshall in the days of the old west. He will be collaborating on his new album with T-Bone Burnett with whom he has been working for many years. “It’s a relationship that’s really inflamed my music.” Bridges says of his partnership with Burnett Indeed, the two worked on the soundtrack for Crazy Heart together and Burnett won an Oscar for “Best Original Song” for “The Weary Kind“. Sugarland Added to CMA Fest Line-up

Sugarland Added to 2011 CMA Fest Nightly Concert Line-up! Sugarland added to the nightly concert line-up for the 2011 CMA Music Festival June 9th-12th. Sugarland will be performing Friday night, June 10th. Single day admission tickets are available for fans only interested in seeing Sugarland! Also performing that night are Sheryl Crow, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Ashton Shepherd and Keith Urban. Sugarland is not the only new addition! Kelly Clarkson will be performing, “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Jason Aldean Thursday night, June 9th. Also, Alan Jackson will be performing with Zac Brown Band on their hit collaboration “As She’s Walking Away“.
