This year has been a picnic… if by picnic you mean we’ve had to halt construction plans on a half-finished community kitchen since Covid took away the live music industry and nixed the bulk of our income, leaving us prepping cold sandwiches and pickles when we’d rather be cooking up a storm! But of course, you can’t always predict the curveballs that life is going to throw at you.
The Virtual Concert Event to Feature Special Performances from Tracy Lawrence, Tim McGraw, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, John Rich, Mitchell Tenpenny, David Tolliver and More Tracy Lawrence’s annual Mission:PossibleTurkeyFryand Benefit Concerthas become a mainstay of the holiday season. The Country music icon and philanthropist to-date has helped raise nearly $1 million dollars and prepared approximately 93,000 meals for families in need since the event’s inaugural kick-off in 2006.
Thank you for joining us again as we go over the logic and planning that has gone into our tiny cabin country music compound build! In our previous posts we’ve covered identifying our resources, and narrowing down our needs in order to make efficient and budget-conscious decisions about the way this project comes together, but before we get further down the construction path, we also need to take a realistic look at the dreams we have for this property’s future.
They say out of trial and tribulation only hope can shine a light. If you’re like me, the whole pandemic has sapped a lot of your high spirits right out of you, but as we get ready to start our year in review around here I can’t help but notice that the greatest ray of hope for our future has just been happening panic-be-damned… Country stars as well as the rest of the world are just keepin on keepin the family ties strong as they have brought bundle upon bundle of joy into their lives and ours through the year. Maren Morris and Morgan Wallen are among the first-time parents in 2020, and country couples kept hospitals busy.
Last week we covered how we looked at our available resources, and identified our needs when it comes to building this tiny cabin country music community in the foothills of the Ozarks. This week we’ll be taking those resources and needs and showing you how they all play into fulfilling our dreams for the property, and how we’re using Slickdeals.net to pack as much luxury we can into our tight budget!
Today we’re going to explore some of the planning and budgeting aspects as we continue our journey into building a tiny cabin country music community in the foothills of the Ozarks. While the tiny home concept seems to be everywhere these days, it seems very few people talk about how to make the finance side of things work, both during construction, and long after it’s done. While every project is subject to a million variables, they all start at the same place: A dream, and the drive to achieve it.
