Country Thunder Arizona Reveals 2013 Concert Details! 2013’s Country Thunder Arizona is pulling out the big guns this year for their lineup. They have Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith, Eric Church, Brantley Gilbert, and just about everybody else! Check out the complete list below! This four-day weekend concert kicks off April 11th in Florence, AZ, and tickets are already available. If you order by TONIGHT (Nov. 13th), the tickets are $99. Starting tomorrow, the tickets raise to $120. Head on over to Country Thunder to order yours today before the price goes up. Miranda Lambert To Open New Store, Pink Pistol, Thanksgiving Week In Tishomingo, OK! Miranda Lambert, lover of all things pink, is taking her pink obsession to the next level by opening a boutique store in Tishomingo, OK named the Pink Pistol! How cute and awesome is that??? I love everything about this news from the name of the store to the idea! According to The Boot, the store will feature a whole host of specialty items, and interested shoppers can grab a first peak at the grand opening taking place the day after Thanksgiving! “We’re having the Grand Opening the day after Thanksgiving, on Black Friday, only we’re calling it Pink Friday. We’re going to make it a tradition to turn the block pink every year at that time…It’s antiques, gifts, boots, jeans and pretty much everything you can imagine. My favorite thing in the store is a glittery pink bicycle hanging from the ceiling. I’m really 12 at heart.” -Miranda Lambert I can’t wait to see the logo, but word on the street is that its a pistol with wings and the slogan, “For the Wild at Heart” underneath! Watch Eli Young Band’s Sci Fi Themed New Video for “Say Goodnight”. Okay, this new video from Eli Young Band for single “Say Goodnight” is an odd one but a sweet one. Totally unexpected, the premise of the video involves a lovely young woman and her relationship with a robot (from outerspace?) that she runs over with a car. Besides loving country music, I’m also a huge science fiction nerd, so, I kind of love this video. You’ll have to see for yourself, though. Check it out below! Josh Abbott Band Sorority Spirit Contest

The Josh Abbott Band Does Their Part To Contribute To Charities With A Spirited, Sisterly Competition. The second annual Josh Abbott Band Sorority Spirit Contest is currently in progress. The contest has gotten a huge response and a lot is thanks to Twitter. Since the kick off, Josh has been receiving over 160 tweets an hour from coast to coast from sorority sisters doing their part to raise some money for their philanthropy. Prizes for this contest include a Josh Abbott Band performance, $10,000 in award money to the winning houses philanthropy, as well as prizes from Dior Cosmetics, Kendra Scott Jewelry and Gigi’s Cupcakes. Sorority Chapters from all directions have registered including Tampa Florida, Pennsylvania State University, University of Oregon, Northern Arizona University, Louisiana State University, Texas Tech, University of Wisconsin-Madison and more! There are 3 phases of the contest and phase 2, Finals Week, begins tomorrow! The 10-15 chapters who had the most people “join” their spirit page and have shown the most creativity will advance into Finals Week. Those finalists will have November 13-15 to submit a skit, via video, with a theme of the bands choosing. Grand prize winners will be chosen from that group based on creativity, entertainment value and effort. Phase 3, The Showdown, will have the videos displayed publicly to raise awareness of the finalists philanthropies. Jo Dee Messina Performs After Running Marathon

Jo Dee Messina Takes The Stage After Competing In The Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon. Jo Dee Messina had a very busy day yesterday, Sunday, November 11. Not only did she run 13.1 miles, she then performed for 25,000 runners to celebrate the finish of the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon & ½ Marathon. Messina completed the half-marathon in 2:36:50 and took the stage one hour later to headline the event’s finish line concert outside the Alamodome. To the surprise of thousands of runners in the audience, Messina performed wearing her half-marathon finishers medal, CEP compression socks and bright blue running shoes. At the same event on Veterans Day, a solider, Sgt. Jonathan Gillis, having just returned from serving in Iraq for 10 months surprised his wife, Giselle, at the finish line of the race. She had no idea he would be there and broke into tears as she crossed the finish line.

George Jones Announces Final Nashville Concert

The Possum Has Announced His Final Nashville Concert Of His Career. George Jones has announced the final Nashville show as part of The Grand Tour to be held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN on Friday, November 22, 2013. Special guest Tanya Tucker will be on hand for the Nashville concert amongst other friends of The Possum, yet to be announced. “The Grand Tour will have surprises throughout the shows – you never know who may show up! The Possum has lots of friends so it is going to be the most exciting thing to see who shows up during the final show. You should come too – and we can be surprised together!” said Jones. George Jones, often referred to as the “the greatest living country singer” will mark the end of an era with 2013’s farewell tour titled “The Grand Tour“. The tour is expected to make approximately 60 stops next year. “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair“, “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes“, “White Lightning” and “He Stopped Loving Her Today” will surely be part of each night’s set list, along with plenty of guests and surprises. Tickets for the Nashville show go on-sale Friday, November 16th at 10am at all Ticketmaster locations. Toby Keith Makes Several TV Appearances This Week. Toby Keith will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight, November 12. The show will air at 10:35pm CT on NBC. Keith will also be making two TV appearances tomorrow, November 13. The first will be on CBS’ The Talk at 1:00pm CT. The second will be on The Late Show with Craig Ferguson at 11:35pm CT, also on CBS. Watch his appearances and get your copy of his brand new album, Hope On The Rocks!

Faith Hill American Heart Video

The Official Music Video For Faith Hill’s “American Heart.” Faith Hill has released the official music video for her current single, “American Heart.” She previously released a lyric video for the song and performed it on the CMA’s on November 1. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the song before and her performance didn’t help my opinions. That night on stage at the CMA’s she added a “God Bless America” to the end of the song and I was hoping it was a one time thing. It was kind of awkward and it didn’t really fit. Unfortunately she has added those 3 words, plus some, to the official music video. All that aside the video is pretty sweet! There are some cute kids at the beginning and the little boy with the big hair has got the moves! Watch the video below and tell us what you think!

Jimmy Wayne Talks Paper Angels

Jimmy Wayne Interview About His Book, Paper Angels. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas is close behind! This time of the year is one of my favorites for many reasons. It is a time filled with family, friends and love. I find that many, not all but many, have a spark in their hearts around this time. People get the bug of thinking of others and not just themselves. I recently read a book that embodies that sentiment in more ways than one. Paper Angels by Jimmy Wayne and Travis Thrasher is a book that has the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program at its’ epicenter. I had the opportunity to talk to Jimmy about the book and I learned a lot! Many of Jimmy’s beliefs and the things he stands for come from his personal life experiences. You might call Paper Angels partly-fictional, in that it’s a made up story, but the characters have been influenced by real life people. “I never wanted to right a fiction, I’ve always been a nonfiction kind of guy,” Jimmy said. “I wanted it to be real things I experienced. I couldn’t steer far from the truth, that’s just the way I am.” Thomas, one of the main characters in the book is strongly based upon Jimmy’s sister. Thomas looked out for his younger sister, Sara, just like Patricia looked out for Jimmy. “She was a kid going on grown,” Jimmy said of Patricia who still looks out for him while be a mother to children of her own. There are bullies in this story (Vic) and there are kind people (Carlos), both of whom Jimmy dealt with growing up. This book takes you on an emotional, year-long journey with two families dealing with struggles that happen every day. As soon as you think you know what will happen next, you are thrown by an unexpected act of kindness. The ending might throw some people, but Jimmy is fine with that because that’s how life is. So the question is, will there be a second part to Paper Angels? Jimmy said that there is a possibility! I’m sure many are happy to know, Jimmy has not given up on his music career. With the help of Pat Alger, the two have wrote an entire album and are planning and shopping the record around to people in the industry. “I want to put it out, but it has to be done with the right people,” Jimmy said. We can all respect that! We will just have to wait patiently for Jimmy’s next release. Whether it is a new book or album, we’ll be ready! Until then, Jimmy is continuing to be an advocate for at risk youth and the foster care system.
